Vauxhall Zafira 1.6 Club [ac] 2007

Very good car from a design point of view, very practical, very versatile, good looking etc... Reliability and quality is the complete opposite. Ongoing issue with chemical fumes of some description. Initially thought to be fuel related but actual origin still unknown. We are on our 2nd car now in 2 months and both are the same. It seems to be related to a batch of Zafiras. My pregnant wife refuses the drive the car (quite rightly) not to mention not allowing my 8 year old and 1 year old in the car either. Definitely going back to Vauxhall... may be sooner depending if dealer sorts out the Zafira problems.

Vauxhall Astra TwinTop 1.8 Auto Design 2007

Brilliant, had mine for 5 months now, just starting to get to use it with the roof down. Really good ride & handling, smooth engine & auto box. Best looking mid range convertible; with the roof up or down. Fantastic car.

Vauxhall Astra 5-Door Hatch SXI 1.4 Twin Port 2007

This is my 4th Astra and they keep getting better. Bought ex-fleet at 9 months old for £7k. The drive on this model is a little harder but the handling is very good. My last was a 1.6 CD which I sold with 104K miles on, but this model is livlier although lacking power a little on hills. Engine is quiet but road and wind noise seems to be worse than earlier models. I would like to see a water temperature gauge fitted as was on previous models, though this seems to be more and more common on modern cars. A recent journey of 275 motorway non-stop miles returned 42 mpg (driver onlyon board). Road tax of £120 instead of previous £170 and better mpg means that my running costs should be lower. One big moan is the lack of front storage space, no drop down drawer as on my previous model, I believe to make space for more airbags which seem to be everywhere. Rear seats map storage is a plus as are brighter interior lights. Stereo is adequate but not a quality sound like Sony. Plus point is MP3 CD play and jack for MP3 player. Just as well as there is nowhere to store disks. I’m not keen on the ’plastic chrome trim’ to front and back of the car, already showing signs of pitting which is hard to correct. All in all a great car for the money which is why I give it 5 star rating.

Vauxhall Vectra 1.8 Elegance 2002

The Vectra handles well but is slow accelerating. I had problems with the cabin dials and knobs but the Vauxhall dealers have not been very helpful... Apart from that it is a decent performer but in hindsight I would probably have gone for a Mondeo.

Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 Life 2008

I chose the new Corsa as I thought it would cope well with the towns and cities. There have never been more than two people in the car at one time - this is for the best as the back seats do not look like they would provide much comfort for an adult - this is not a family car. Vauxhall claim that the 1.2 Life manages 48 miles to the gallon but I was not surprised to discover that this was in reality around the 42 mark - whos journey to work is on a rolling road and doesn't involve stopping?). The limited space in the back is made up for with the large boot space. I paid extra for side-airbags as these do not come as standard - I feel that these really are must have safety feature. Reliability has so far been exemplary and there have been no extra, unexpected costs attached to my Corsa - this is exactly how it should be. I would recommend the Corsa to anybody looking for a great town / city run around that has good fuel economy and low maintenance and insurance costs.

Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 Club 2007

Overall a good car, however a few negative points also must be mentioned.. The driver’s view of the road and surrounding area is severely restricted because of the very wide posts down the sides of the windscreen, especially on the driver’s side. The (very small) switch to activate the fog light is hidden away almost down below the level of the steering wheel... too hard to get at if you actually encounter fog and need to use it safely without pulling over as you have to take your eyes off the road to actually find it. The seats are fiddly to move forward if passengers get into the rear of the car. Poor performance power wise (its only a 1.2, 16v but still could be better) and fuel economy for such a small engine leaves a lot to be desired. Other than that I’m delighted with the New Corsa; however when the next one comes out i think Vauxhall would need to fix these type of things.

Vauxhall Antara 2.4i E 5dr 2008

I’m pleased with this new car, it’s much better than I expected. This is a company car and as such it offers a very flexible working and family car. It has all mod cons and drives well enough. Would I buy one? Probably not. Although there is nothing dreadfully wrong with it, there’s nothing that exciting about it either and price wise I think there are more exciting cars on offer.

Vauxhall Vivaro 1.9 DTi 2900 2002

The only thing wrong with this van is the fact that the gearbox, clutch and brakes are not up to the job. The gearbox has cheap bearings and at £1000 pounds a pop for a reconditioned replacement this can prove rather expensive. The clutch just hasn’t got the grunt for the job in hand so you can add a few more pounds to the running costs for replacement every 30,000 miles. The brakes just don’t last and the master cylinder is a bit suspect. So if you like spending loads on service and repair this is the van for you!!!!!!!

Vauxhall Zafira SRi 150 Ext Auto 2006

The vehicle is an excellent all rounder with the ability to swallow up a large family comfortably. I would highly recommend to anyone - supplying dealer (Lookers St Helens) had a tremendous salesman who looked after the order from start to finish (8 week special factory build because of the extras lad called John Ashcroft). Only downside is that the vehicle has a cut out, normally when coming off a motorway and for an Automatic could be dangerous because you lose all power, including steering. Not happened for a while now (Thankfully) Vauxhall state, no fault found. Have this logged with the dealer in any event, because it could prove dangerous if my grandchildren were in the car.
