At present the Nissan LCV range is one of the most varied on the market with its line up of vans and pick-ups. On this test we drove the Instar 2.5 dCi SE MWB and due to the alliance with Renault, the Interstar shares its platform with the Renault Master. It has a starting price of £22,280.... read more

William Sutton, Norfolk

Nissan Qashqai 2.0 dCi Tekna 2007

Ran a Vauxhall Meriva for many years and was very happy with it but fancied a change. The Qashqai seemed just right for me and my expanding family, and the interior space and ample boot room fits all 5 of the Sutton family with room to spare. Ride position is high, suspension very good. Cost price is very reasonable and left me with change from my budget. The engine is punchy, I went for the 2 litre rather than the standard 1.6 as I enjoy having the power to pull away and overtake when necessary. There are almost no negatives, if I had to be picky then I might say that the large pillars make visibility poorer than it could have been but this really is a small quibble. Everything about the Nissan Qashqai is well laid out practical and I would not hesitate in recommending it to family and friends.

Nissan Qashqai 1.5 dCi Visia 2008

I fancied a change. I didn’t want a gas-guzzling 4x4 or an ordinary MPV and went looking for something "different". This was when my head was turned by the Qashqai, it is called a compact MPV and looks much better in reality than it does when looking at images online. Fuel economy is good (50+) and the CO2 emissions are only 145g/km which means it is classed as green. It also falls into insurance group 5 - not too expensive to insure. If you are looking for something a little different that gives a great feel of security for your family plus making family outings a pleasure rather than a chore then I highly recommend the Nissan Qashqai.

Nissan Pathfinder 3.0 Di Aventura 2006

This car was built to go up mountains, great big muddy ones at that! Fabulous off roader - if you’re looking for a 4x4 to dop the kids off at school then give this one a miss as ou’d be completely missing the point of this car. Amazing torque and can tow a house! Brilliant work horse and very comfortable interior with masses of space.

Nissan Pathfinder 2.5 Trek 5dr 2007

I find this a very capable vehicle. It has off-road abilities but is just as nice to drive around winding lanes and suburban roads. Running costs are reasonable for a car of it’s size and the price for new is well priced. Comes well equipped and gives plenty of comfort and space for both driver and passengers. Highly recommended.

Nissan X-Trail 2.2di 2002

Nice to drive BUT CANNOT recommend a car that needs new fuel pump for £2000 at 58000. Very common fault according to NISSAN dealer. Air flow meter, common fault £400 , new key £300 with coding. How can they charge these prices. DO NOT BUY unless you have deep pockets.

Nissan Micra C+C 1.4 Visia C+C 2dr 2006

I learnt to drive in a Nissan Micra (many years ago!) and it looked nothing like this!!! Gorgeous car and very, very nice to drive. I also like the fact you don’t see many of them about, which think makes it a bit special. It is a very girly car so won’t appeal to everyone but I think it’s a real gem.

Nissan X-Trail Columbia diesel 2007

For three years I previously had an X-Trail 2.2 litre sport six speed giving an average of 33 miles to the gallon. I looked at the new X-Trail in November 2007 when I was due to change but was disappointed to see they had reduced the cc to a 2 litre. As I tow a caravan the extra power is a must. The dealership were very good in that they checked to see if the old model was available and managed to supply a Columbia version with sat nav and cruise control and I can honestly say its as good as the previous one.

Nissan Micra 1992

I have had my K reg for four years and it has never failed to start regardless of the weather. It is reliable, economic and easy to maintain. Last year, I paid £200 maintenance for a 15 year old car, that must take some beating. I use the car every day and travel out of Birmingham in the car at least once a month and have every confidence in it to get me there and home again.

Nissan Micra 2002

Very reliable little car, mine is the 1000cc so not much power for acceleration, feels a little too weak on the motorway and the suspension is pretty rigid so you do feel the bumps and then some. However, I’ve had mine for 4 years now and not a single problem has developed, fuel mileage is good and the paintwork still looks very shiny and new. I’ll definitely buy another when I feel I can part with this one - it’s become a bit of a pet!
