Bluemotion - The Golf Plus hasn’t been a huge seller for Volkswagen since its introduction in 2005, mainly because the original Golf is such a competent car. I did not realise this site existed until I searched for Megane CC faults this morning as I had been given the impression that I was the only owner who was having a problem with water leaks. I bought my first Megane CC in November 2005, had black leather seats and bluetooth installed. By January 2006 the front passenger seat was stained due to water leaks. Over the following 2 years the car spent 21 weeks in the garage with Renault specialists looking at it regularly. The garage did not charge me for a courtesy car but my insurance got a bit fed up with me adding another car and started to charge me, it was also usually a maximum of 1.4 petrol where I was used to driving a 1.9 diesel. In the end I requested a hire car of equivalent power which was usually a Peugeot 407 but on 2 occasions during the summer months I was given a Megane CC. I was in constant contact with Renault UK Customer Services and in February this year they offered to change the car. The first offer was I pay £6000 towards a new one! In May I took delivery of a September 07 registered Renault to GO car which had 12k mile on the clock, no leather seats but they did install Bluetooth for me. I considered this a good deal as my other car by that time had 36k miles on the clock and only 6 months left on the warranty. The car also seemed jinxed as I had had 5 punctures, with no spare tyre, a new front screen and the first accident I have ever had in 35 years of driving, I aquaplaned and collided with a lamp post in an almost empty car park. I have been happy with the new car and have even stopped looking for the water to flow or drip in as I pull away. This weekend we have had high winds and heavy rain and as I pulled the car out of the drive the water flowed in onto the front passenger seat. I am off to Renault today. On the leather seats you just wiped the water away but with the fabric the water soaks into the seat so my passenger is going to get a wet derrieres. With the exception of the leak which becomes very frustrating and time wasting having to keep going back to the garage to complain, although they do collect and deliver it when it goes in for work, I love the car. It is great to drive and very economical and providing it is dry and above 6 I have the roof down.
