Citroen C-Crosser Exclusive 2008

Bought from new 2008, all was well to begin with, then the gear box cables suddenly went which meant I couldn’t get from 5th gear without giving the stick a whack, this was covered under guarantee luckily. Now the clutch has started slipping and I have been told by my dealer this will not be covered as it is down to natural wear and tear!! With only 16,000 miles on the clock and having never driven the car off road and have nevered pulled a trailer or the likes I find it very hard to swallow! The estimated bill for repair is over £1000! Thanks Citroen... never again on my drive mate!

Hi Dave, I suspect my Crosser has a slipping cutch, mainly in the higher gears when accelerating. I will be booking it in with Citroen to confirm this is the case. I understand there is no warranty on the clutch but with 8k on the clock and never having to have had a clutch fixed in any of my other cars, I will be contacting Watchdog. I have read an article in a caravan club magazine where a C-Crosser has had to have a NEW clutch; it is beggining to look like a weakness to me...... will keep you posted - Steve Rousseau from Lincolnshire

Been a fan of Citroen for a long time so was excited to take delivery of 2.2hdi C-Crosser. Fantastic car but after 17000 miles noticed the clutch slipping in 5th and 6th gear. Took it to Advantage Motor Group Lincoln where the mechanic told me it woudn’t be covered under warranty, but would cost approx 800 pounds. Now its done 24000 miles and is slipping badly. It’s disgusting of Citroen, because its obviously a design fault. The car is only just 1 year old and I don’t want to be replacing the clutch every 12 months. Hi, Citroen could not find a fault... took it to France and the problem has got worse. It has been booked in again to assess fault... rang another main dealer to be advised that they were aware of 1 or 2 to have this fault.... until Thurs... will keep you updated - Steve Rousseau from Lincolnshire

Well I can only praise the service I have recieved from Citroen N T Shaw of Louth, after Advantage, Lincoln could not find a fault N T Shaw have had the car in diagnosed oil on the clutch and replaced it under warranty, I asked what the likelihood of it happening again, was told very slim. Can now carry on enjoying a great car safe in the knowledge that we are backed by a great dealership - Steve from Lincolnshire

I have 08 C Crosser numerous recalls and faults and have had the clutch replaced under warranty at 16000 miles. at 21000 miles clutch pedal now vibrating. Probably the worst new car experience ever!!! Never again!! Shocking customer service. Stay well clear of this 4x4! - Dave Ritchie from Lanarkshire
