Renault Trafic CPV 2.0 115 dci sport 2010

What can I say? I’ve had my Renault Trafic for a year now. Ok every one has their different opinions, but I’ve had the Ford Tourneo, three of them. Yes they are very good, but I had a serious leak in the 2005 model (the ’96 and ’97 model no problems). I’m going back to my Renault Trafic with which I’ve never had any problems. So if you’re going to buy one, buy the Renault Trafic dci sport. Go Renault!!

Used as taxi transfer bus for airport work and as hackney taxi. Have done 120,000 miles and no problems apart from changing a bottom link arm. Great on fuel fast and comftable. All in all a great work horse would buy again. Would say it’s never missed a service from Renault.

This has got to be the worst minibus I’ve ever driven, I have had nothing but trouble and has been in and out of Renault at least 10 times in the year I have owned it, so here goes! 1). The seat belts in the rear are a nightmare, when people get out of the rear seats they get them trapped in the door which in turn makes the sliding door bend out of shape, which is un-repairable and not covered by warranty. 2). It has done 30000 and has had the following done to it: New Turbo, New Computer, Oil fumes into cabin, new battery, New rubber seals replaced on doors. 3). It has now developed clutch judder and so I’m gearing myself up for a new clutch and gearbox. 4). Air con is not standard in the rear seats on the sport and costs over £1000 as an extra. No cruise control, no storage place for maps etc, access to rear seats very complicated. The good points: The Sport looks great, all panels colour coded, MPG 35 combined, The ride is superb it’s just like driving a car, The LWB is the best as it has a massive boot. And finally, the wind noise above 60mph is a common fault and is just unbearable at 70 mph with whistles coming from door and windscreen seals. Do not buy this CPV as a taxi, I wish I’d brought the VW Transporter or the Vito.

I own a 08 Trafic MPV, used as a taxi. Re: air con fault; The 07 Trafic was recalled buy Renault because a pipe was weak and moved with the engine causing it to snap, this would in turn let the gas escape so the air con would not work. My friend has two 07 reg, which have both been fixed. My Trafic has covered 10600 miles and is out of warranty now. My local dealer would do nothing to help, I went to Renault complaints and they are agreed to 25% reduction in the repair bill. Off to Renault we went and on inspection they found that the pipe had snapped. I asked if this was the same as the recall on the 07reg and it would seem to be the same. Back to renault complaints! They didn’t want to admit to it so it has cost me an £370.00 aircon fix. Beware a 08reg trafic has the same airncon as the 07reg, your aircon will fail sooner or later! - Tom White from Dorset
