1.9dCi 130 Dynamique - 2009 - Renault’s trusty Mégane has been around in various incarnations since the mid ‘90s, with the current New Mégane range, Coupé included, introduced to the world at the ’08 Paris Motor Show. There’s no doubt that this latest Coupé looks a whole lot slinkier than its immediate predecessor, but might it [...]

I bought the top of the range diesel GTline in February. What an unbelievable car for the money! Renault Sport suspension, 18 inch alloys, leather upholstery and sat nav are all great quality. It has great power for 110BHP and if you put it in 6th and drive it at 60mph a full tank will take you about 750-800 miles. I can’t say enough good things about this car. The only criticism I could have is that the Continental Contisport low profile tyres are a little short on rubber for some of Ireland’s roads! Get yourself one of these bad boys if you want the best of both worlds!

I have the bright yellow banana mobile, 97,000 on the clock, still in good nick, reliable and nippy.

Mine is the banana coloured 1.6 Coupe. Nippy, looks good, very pleased even with 90,000 on the clock.

The car has been fantastic apart from an annoying noise from the rear end, drivers side. I had everything checked over and had the shockers replaced. Now awaiting a new fuel tank as the garage say this is apparently where the problem lies. No problem with the fuel gauge though. The car has only done 33k from new.

Two weeks old and it hasn’t fallen to bits yet! Great looking car with plenty of admirers. Quick and excellent levels of grip. Build quality is surprisingly good and general finish is better than expected. Fuel economy not great but the biggest downfall is the noise, or lack of it!, oh and the poor sound system. Not much else out there to compete on performance/price.

If your reading this review first then its at the top of the list. So before you go any further, if the car your looking at buying is before 2008, the reviews aren’t good. Else its fantastic. But then they haven’t been out that long! The New Megane’s are a joint venture between Nissan and Renault. I’m not 100% sure now which one has bought major shares in the other, but that’s why. Apparently there are a lot of similarities between this car and the Nissan Qashqai. I’ve only done 4000 miles in mine in 5 months, but I can’t fault it. Moves like sh*t off a hot shovel, averaging 55 mpg (get nearer 60 if I’m not on the motorway), lots of toys. If I had one criticism, it would be the way the car is geared. It has only a max 5,000 rev counter, so sometimes when you put your foot down, and the turbo kicks in, your at 4,000 revs before you know it. But the 6 speed gear box means you can sit at 80mph at 2,800 revs (approx) and still manage 50 - 55 mpg.

I just bought this car 2.5 months ago. I loved the look of the car and immediately took my Suzuki Swift to trade for this car of my dreams. The car has been going great, bought from Arnold Clark Renault Dealer in Bishopbriggs scotland. As usual all good at time of sale but at the weekend I had to call the AA twice for a faulty alternator in the car. The first to be followed home from work and then have the car battery recharged using the AA van, and secondly on my way to the dealer to book my car in when smoke started belching from the engine. On further inspection it turns out that it’s the belt on the alternator that is wrecked and I will have to wait until tomorrow to get my car back, which is now not brand new according to me. The aftersales care was terrible and I had to call 4 times in order to find out what was actually wrong with the car. 4 days no car, no courtesy car and not even offered any compensation. Was offered a 24 hire car which is the standard from Renault but you do not get an extension on this. Currently paying for taxis to and from work and waiting time calling them. This is a real shame as I love the car. Has anyone else had a similar problem with their coupe or even a similar problem with the dealer??? I feel like they are not interested now that the car is sold :-(

Just recently purchased my vehicle so my first impressions so far are that it is very comfortable to drive all controls light and easy to use feeling of quality. Very stylish and good boot space for a coupe, good in car acceleration through all gears except 1st gear which is slow. I bought the car from Renault, Orpinton who I found very helpful and knowledgable.

Been to see the car, fell in love with the car, 6th gear a little nerve racking ’til you get use to it. Stylish, handles well at speed, which is quickly arrived at with the turbo :) Ordered the car back in April, dealership told me 8 weeks now it’s going to be July, not very happy. Why the delay? He told me they had to be built! Didn’t know Renault were hand crafted for each and every owner. Getting really fed up now of waiting, only seen a couple so far about, WANT MINE !!!!!!

Hi Lydia Ordered mine on the 03/03/2010 was told it would be about 17 days before it arrived at the dealer ship wasnt able to pick it up until the 04/05/2010 but well worth the wait. What a superb car done nearly 7000 miles and it has to be the best car I have ever owned. Averages over well over 50 mpg and effortless to drive. I would recommend the 1.5 Dynamique Tom Tom as a first class car - Rob Smith from Derbyshire

Although the Renault Megane Coupe is not everyone’s favourite car, it is my dream car as it has style and character. From the front it looks ready to pounce at any second and from the back it has an instantly recognisable style. In my opinion deep blue is the best colour as it is more classy than the brighter colours. The interior is stylish and comfortable with 4 partially leather bucket seats and dark blue fabric. A six stack CD player and speakers in the back and front enable everyone to hear the music you want to hear clearly. The 1.6 16 valve engine ensures a speedy smooth ride, perfect for long journeys but also handy for shorter journeys around town. At 45 the MPG is not too bad either. The only problem is that there is very little room in the back for passengers legs. Over all it is a good little car!

I bought a saloon 1600 dynamique April 2009 and have no complaints at all. Very well equipped, comfy, reasonable petrol consumption, excellent boot space, however, I started to see the odd coupe being driven about and kicked myself for not waiting, I always buy demonstrators or pre reg cars and there were none about in april. December 2009 traded my saloon for orange 1600 dynamique coupe. I love it, much prefer the firmer ride, looks great from any angle. Mine has dual climate control, panoramic sunroof and privilage alloys. These were all additions pre purchase. Next year i want a 2 litre turbo in white.
