Please read - I do not believe this. Having had two previous Range Rover Sport’s and on the whole having been very pleased with the vehicle; and the residual has been good. I ordered a 2009 mode build and took delivery of my new RRS HSE on the 14th November 2008, from the same supplier of my previous two RRS in Peterborough. I was given a quick vehicle check and off I drove; then 3 hours later the nightmare started - auto box not working correctly, having to switch to trip-tronic, contacted the dealer, no answer, stranded in Horsham, West Sussex. Saturday the 15th - contacted the dealer three times, I had turbo failure, loss of automatic gear box, the whole vehicle shook, diesel spilling down the sides of the car, due to lack of response support from the dealer I contacted Land Rover Support, who having taken the vehicle details, number plate, chassis number I was told I could not have the car as it was showing it was still at Land Rovers compound in the Midlands and as they did not have any details re-warranty they could not assist me. Sunday the 16th of November, reluctantly L/R assistant did attend, the person who attended confirmed I did have the vehicle and I was the legal owner, they tried to fix the auto-box, recommended the vehicle should be returned to Peterborough and they would arrange a loan car, I would have to give a credit card and agree to a debit of £2,500 pounds? The way I was treated, abandoned, notwithstanding I was heading off to Germany I had to continue my journey and pray I would make it. Monday the 17th I took the vehicle to land Rover in Monchengladbach who looked over the vehicle told me I should reject the vehicle, there reasons were:- body damage, the vehicle has had a full re spray , damage and repairs to various parts of the car, the interior needs completely replacing, all the leather seats need replacing, metal exposed with no paint or under coat. And Rover Monchengladbach contacted land Rover UK as the German dealer could not help me as the warranty was still not showing on any system. A representative form Land Rover contacted me in the end I had been trying to contact them up and till that time I had spoken with no less than 35+ people within land Rover UK. The representative of Land Rover informed me he could not see until the following week as he was off to Mons for a vehicle show and they did not have a spare car for me so I would have to wait till Friday 28th November. Please note I had formerly in writing rejected this vehicle on the 15th of November. This was later confirmed by Land Rover on Monday the 17th of November. Friday 28th November - in attendance myself, the land Rover Representative and land Rovers technical person, following the inspection, they gave me a copy of their findings, confirming the major faults with the vehicle i.e. very bad paint work, all the leather seats would need to be replaced with new, along with the aforementioned , even having inspected the vehicle and confirming not just to me but the garage, the vehicle should not have been supplied in the first instance, the Land Rover Rep was still trying to get me to take the car. Saturday 29th An independent technician inspected the vehicle he was from [ADAC] and confirmed all of the faults and found a further 25-30 more major faults, he confirmed that the vehicle had either been in an accident or very badly damaged and should not have been supplied, he informed the Land Rover Garage the vehicle would undergo a full investigation by the authorities and would be impounded. At no point has land Rover offered to compensate me, apologise I have formerly rejected this vehicle yet Land Rover are insisting the vehicle is OK and I should take it?. Number of serious faults found within the first 36hrs of collecting the car 25, following the inspection’s a further 35 + I welcome your comments please.

As a motoring journalist I was fortunate in being able to try all the 4x4s on lengthy road tests - if only everyone could they would come to the same conclusion. The Freelander2 was head and shoulders above the competition in both, value, engineering and its delightful new sophisticated interior. I still love it to bits and it tows delightfully.

Just love the Freelander 2. Off and on road it is brilliant. Just a pity that the colour range is a bit uninspiring. I have the tamboraflame (orange) seen on most Freelander publicity but no longer available. Such a pity. When we see other Freelander 2’s in this colour the other car occupants invariably wave at us and us at them. Silly maybe but this car is fun so why not enjoy!

I’ve wanted one of these for a while. Sports engine combined with off road ability and the space and build of the Range Rover - fantastic! I’ve bought mine second hand but in very good nick and saved myself around £10k into the bargain. The gadgets you get with this thing are amazing and will get you as excited as an eight year old on Christmas morning. Driving this car is like nothing else, totally responsive, awesome power and just knowing you can go anywhere in this makes you feel pretty invincible. Top car!

There is nothing that even comes close to the driving experience, on or off road, of this car. It is the definative SUV/family car/thrill ride and it’s British! This is a car I will never tire of driving and just don’t see me owning anything else again.

After having a variety of so called premium 4x4’s including the BMW X5 3.0D Sport, I can honestly say this is the best car I have owned. It is incredibly spacious and versatile, it can carry seven in comfort, has great road manners and off road it’s untouchable. The downsides are the acceleration isn’t as good as it could be and the leasing costs are silly. Overall a great car though.

Most unreliable car, purchased 1st car from Stratstone of Perth Land Rover in 2005. I had 8 courtesy cars in 10 months, rejected car no one, now on car number 2 it has been in the garage 8 times and going back in again. The mileage is 17,000 with a large portion due to return visits from Glasgow to Perth garage.

I do actually use the Freelander both on and off road and this is why it was worth spending a little extra money. I own a farm and the fields become difficult terrain when the rains come and the CR-V and Rav4 just wouldn’t be able to cope.

After owning a Porsche for 20 years, this is my second Range Rover (4.2 Supercharger SE), and what can I say, it is like a Rolls Royce of 4x4! It’s got class, style and its an absolute delight to drive. The Jaguar engine makes it the best ever built for Range Rover! Don’t bother with BMW or Porsche they are the pretenders, if you want the best go for the Range Rover.

The latest shape Freelander is a lovely car. MUCH better that the previous shape. Still quite a rare site on the roads too at the moment. Very pleased.

I previously owned a Discovery and was impressed. The Sport is like a stream-lined version of the Discovery. It offers a great view of the road ahead and the rear parking sensors are a nice touch and very useful. My family of five fits comfortably and easily into the Sport and engine is more than powerful enough. If you can’t afford the Porsche Cayenne ( which would be my dream 4x4 ) then this is the next best thing.

As a dairy farmer this really is the only car for the job. A superb workhorse, this car can take anything you can throw at it. Don’t even consider if you’re looking for comfort - a real bone shaker on road! These cars really hold their value and are as solid as a house.

This is my eighth Range Rover in eighteen years and THE BEST yet. The power the supercharger delivers thrills every time I drive it. After a long journey I don’t want to park it and switch off! The sound system is superb as well as the luxurious interior which adds to the pleasure. I can’t remember ever having a warranty claim from any of my Range Rovers. Test drive one.

I’m really impressed with my Freelander. The drive feels smooth and seamless. Off road driving in this car is great fun and the design has a real touch of class about it. A bit special.

Used to have the Range Rover and loved it - went for the Range Rover Sport when it was released and am absolutely thrilled. They have taken the original Range Rover and improved upon it in every way possible! Great on-and-off road.

Most unreliable car I have ever owned, I drove seven different courtesy cars in 9 months, Spent half my time back and forward to the main agent. The inside is well finished and the car looks well but never buy one that is not under manufacturers warranty unless you have a spare grand a month for repairs. Sold the car after 9 months and lost £30,000 but at least its gone New Audi tdi Q7 on order.

A fantastic luxurious car. My favourite 4x4 so far. Looks great, easy to park & fits loads in. Great transport for baby & the dogs. 4.4 model is certainly the one to have. Good on petrol. 2.7 diesel is too sluggish to justify the Sport badge. Most luxuries are included as standard. Would certainly have another one.

The previous model Freelander was OK, but nothing special. Build quality was only as good as less expensive rivals. Quite economical, but under powered.

I have found the Range Rover Sport to be perfect for my family of 5. It easily fits my family in and we all sit high offering us all excellent visibility and comfort.I am 6 foot 5 so the extra headroom is also a huge benefit. On the minus side, this is a thirsty car and rarely manages more than 25 miles to the gallon.

I’d heard terrible things about this car since purchasing mine so it was with trepidation I finally took delivery in June of this year – I needn’t have worried. Touch wood, everything is so far working as it should and it’s given me nothing but pleasure. Well done Land Rover, a very solid and refined car.

This is my first Range Rover although I have driven Land Rover, before but some years ago. I’ve so far had 5,000 thoroughly enjoyable miles in this car and I really can’t think of anything to pull it up on. A really great car.

Land Rover have delivered a fantastic car that bears no resemblance to the glitch prone Mk1. It really took a lot to stick with Land Rover after owning the previous Freelander model but I’m a firm believer in supporting home grown products and this one is a beauty. If you are in anyway unsure about this vehicle because of things you’ve heard about the previous one don’t be, they really don’t compare.

Best looking 4x4 on the road by far but then again I’m probably biased. The V6 diesel engine is smooth and quiet and has proved pretty nippy for such a big car. The interior has a feel of real quality and certainly gets full marks for comfort. I’m really pleased that I chose this car and best of all its BRITISH!!!!!
