The ix20, Hyundai’s new B-segment MPV. The ix20 is the second European model to adopt Hyundai’s new ‘fluidic sculpture’ design language which helps differentiate it from the boxy ‘minivan’ image typically associated with the segment. The name ix20 reflects the new model’s crossover-like versatility – a vehicle with the ability to simultaneously serve as a functional people-carrier while providing a dynamic, fun-to-drive experience.

1.4 CRDi Active - MPVs have experienced a downturn in fortunes in recent years, with sales declining by 34% since 2005. I recently purchased this and found that all I had heard was correct. It’s better than my Ford Cmax on fuel consumption, road tax is only £30 a year, it has a 6 speed gearbox and is very comfortable for up to five people. I’m so convinced by this vehicle I am now buying another for my wife; she is the most hardest person to please, but after driving mine she had no complaints, just words of pleasure. Wow!

It is like a mini-tardis minus Matt Smith! It doesn’t feel much bigger than my old Fiesta when you’re driving it and on the drive it takes up about the same amount of room (and I’m told it takes about as long to clean but that isn’t my job!) Yet it’s surprising how much stuff you can cram in. I’ve had 3 in the back with no complaints. The boot is a good size too and it’s pretty nippy. Although the best bit is that I don’t think I’ve seen another one on the road. At least not that I’ve noticed anyway and you can’t say that about Fiesta. I just wish Hyundai had sold me one with Doctor Who in the passenger seat.
