I have been the proud owner of a Citreon Saxo VTR year 2000 for 10 years now and will be devastated when I have to part with it. It is the best car I have ever had. In fact my last three cars have been Citreon. Cannot fault them. Reliable, no rust and a pleasure to drive.

I brought my daughter a little Saxo and it was a great little car, very reliable, cheap to insure and run, 4 tyres for £160 fitted. The only one thing I used to worry about was crash test results as they are an old car now but if you get one around 51 as they were phasing them out you get a top spec motor. The only reason the Saxo has had to go is someone hit the side and wrote it off. One more thing to remember: any Citroen that has original panels will be immaculate as they are galvanised and dipped. My daughter now has a Vauxhall Corsa and it’s lovely to look at but surprise surprise, the Vauxhall rear arch rust demon is visible.

My first new company car! In four years, I travelled 140,000 miles in that car and it never let me down! According to DVLA website, it is still taxed today! Must have close to 200,000 on the clock now. It was comfortable, cheap to run, and fun to drive. I have fond memories of that car!

I had both a Saxo VTR and VTS and I would never buy another French car after owning them! Cheap looking plastic inside and tin on the outside. Fault after fault, rattles from every part of the car then it will eventually fall apart!

I have recently bought a 1999 1.1 Saxo with a view to my daughter having it when she passed her driving test. I found the car in a local paper for £800, it looked like a brand new car. When I test drove it, the impression was of a really tight up together car, so I bought it. I have had it seviced and asked for any outstanding work to be done, but was told it was faultless. I enjoy driving it so much, I may well keep it and buy my daughter another one. I would recomend the Saxo to anyone for the sheer joy of the driving experience.

Best car I ever had, I have had this car for 5 years and been all over France and Ireland. It’s nippy and has good handling; best of all there is no bally gadgets to go wrong - the only major work I have done is a new drive shaft, it cost £45 and took an hour to replace... simple and easy - A GREAT CAR!
