I have a LT35 2.5 lwb. I had a problem with the brakes and the abs light was on. A friend of a friend said he could fix the problem. What I didn’t know was that he had by-passed the abs until it went in for a test. The problem I have now is it failed test and I need to put the brake pipes back into the abs. Unfortunately he did not mark any of the pipes and he has bent them so you cannot tell what goes where. Can anyone get me pictures / diagram and information where to put them? Thanks in advance.

Please can anyone help me with a problem with the windscreen washer on my Volkswagen LT? It has stopped working and I have checked all the fuses and they are OK. I have checked the connections with a multimeter and there is power. I have also tried a new pump. Recently, whilst washing the windscreen the wipers did not work with the washer. When I removed the washer pump and press the washer button the wipers wipe 3 times as they did before! Could this be a relay problem?

We are having problems with cold starting on my Volkswagen LT. The engine turns over fine, the glow plug light and relay are working fine. We have replaced all the glow plugs, but when we removed them they were covered on oil? There is not a lot of excess smoke after it starts, when it’s running the performance is amazing, could it be a possible leak in the cylinder head?

Hello , I own a VW LT35 2D 2.5 TDI, motorcode AHD, 75 KW, 102 HP from 03-07-1996. I changed it into a motorhome to voyage around with it during my holidays. I would now like to put an cruise control (tempomat) , but this function (module 06) is not previewed in the ecu from that year. So my question(s) are : 1) Can this function be programmed extra into the ECU? or 2) Can I use the ECU from the LT model from one of the years 1997-1999 for the same model and make some extra wiring for the Cruise control ? Thanks for your advice .

My Volkswagen LT van starts ok but won’t rev up. Any ideas anyone?

Hi, I have major difficulty starting my Volkswagen LT from cold or warm (it took at least 20-30 seconds to fire up after turning the key, when it used to fire up almost immediately before). Clouds of whitish(?) smoke when starting from cold - loads more than normal. No smoke when starting from warm. 2.) when dropping down to low revs (for example when pulling up to a junction or a roundabout) the engine would sometimes die and not tick over or "flat spot" and refuse to rev. When it "flat spotted" you could have your foot flat on the floor and the engine would be running but stay at very low revs and refuse to increase whatever you did with the accelerator. If you waited long enough the revs would eventually return to normal, but could take several minutes! This got worse over several weeks and was NOT funny when there was a queue of traffic waiting behind me. Can anyone help or advise? Thank you.

Hi, I have a 1995 LT 31 and when I drive over 50mph or drive it hard in 3rd gear, there is a buzzing noise coming from behind the clocks and it does not go away until the engine is stopped. Can anyone tell me what it is and how to stop it?

The oil pressure warning system is made up in two parts. There is a standard warning light (actually an LED) connected to a pressure sender near the oil filter which operates like any other car. The second system has a seperate sender unit on the block and also senses speed via a connection to the ignition coil. This sender operates at a higher pressure than the first (around 30 psi I think). If the engine revs above 2000 rpm and the oil pressure drops below 30 psi, the oil light will flash and the buzzer sounds. Check the sender unit, if this is okay then the problem is in the circuitry. You can fool the system by disconnecting the speed sensor wire from the -ve terminal on the coil. There should be two wires on this terminal, one goes to the distributor, the other is the speed sensor - Dave Cole from Gloucestershire

There is a noise that comes from the engine/gearbox that stops when braking. Any ideas?

It is the brake vacuum pump 100% if the ticking noise goes away after pressing the brake pedal a few times which builds up pressure. I got mine from Euro Car Parts and changed it myself. I took my van to many garages and none had a clue or were deaf - Javad Chohan from England
