My Volkswagen Jetta has a yellow light on the speedometer. When I looked at the manual it said that it`s tyre pressure, but the rear parking sensors have stopped working at the same time and one of my reverse bulbs has blown. Are they connected or have my parking sensors broken?

I own an automatic 1999 VW Jetta Wolfsburg Ed. MK3 (a 1998 body style). I have taken the car to the mechanic several times for the same issues and he replaced a part which cost me hundreds of dollars but this does not seem to have solved the issue. The issue that I’m having is that when driving, mostly not on a level road but on highways and incline roads, that the RPM gauge goes beyond the number 3 when driving between 55 and 60 mph. Recently I was driving at 40 mph and the RPM needle was slightly above the number 2 when it is normally under number 2 on the RPM gauge. The transmission is fairly new, about 4 to 5 years old. The engine so far has turned off twice on me, the RPM has gone high and then it turned off. About half an hour later the car would turn back on with no signs of overheating. So far I have replaced the timing belt, serpentine belt, tensioner, power steering belt, bad knock sensor for engine, fuel filter, engine RPM sensor, distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs, speed sensor and a couple of other things related to the speed. The mechanic also suggested that I replace the ignition coil and plug wires. I can’t afford to keep spending any more dollars on this car. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips regarding what might be causing this issue? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Inside my Volkswagen Jetta’s driver’s door are two buttons (? switches, toggles?) that you use to open the trunk and the gas tank door. Out of the blue I heard the noise the trunk makes when you pull up on the switch to open it. I slammed the trunk shut and a few seconds later it did it again. It actually sounds like it "cycles" the opening process 3-5 times, then about 20-30 seconds later, it does it again. Both of the "buttons" are rapidly blinking on and off (usually a steady red- IF THE CAR IS TURNED ON!) even though the car is OFF and key out of the ignition. I thought a fuse went bad, but fuse panel does not show the symbol for the trunk or the gas door, so I have NO IDEA what to do- so far the battery, windows, door locks lights, radio etc... seem unaffected- actually although the gas door button is also blinking rapidly, the gas door is NOT opening itself, and works as usual when I pull up on the button to unlock it. However, after I manually shut the trunk and it latches, pulling up on the trunk button does NOTHING until it triggers itself to open again! ANY ONE HAVE A CLUE as to what is going on- I’m afraid the battery (?) will be worn down/drained and/or worse! Appreciate any help anyone can give!!!!!

Does the battery light come on when the timing belt breaks? When driving my Volkswagen Jetta today it cut power and the battery light came on. I tried starting it again and the lights drained and when turning over it sounded funny? Could this be the pulley on the alternator belt or the timing belt?

My 2006 Volkswagen Jetta, when I start the car, there is a noise that sounds like tappets. When I drive the car it is not as bad when I increase the speed but when I slow down the sound is a lot worse and can be heard when the car is stationary. The car had a full service about 1,000 miles ago when the timing belt and brakes were replaced. There is 58,000 miles on the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards, James. (diesel)
