My central locking is working, it seems not to put on the double lock, however I cannot get the petrol flap open, it seems to have locked when I double locked it, but unable to unlock. All doors lock and unlock fine - Any views, need to go on a long journey, only have petrol for one way. Any help would be appreciated.

Answers

The lock for the fuel flap can be accessed by removing some of the trim in the boot on the same side as the flap. From there you can manually open the lock and disconnect the wiring. I had to disconnect mine, on a Vectra B hatchback. Alternatively the wiring may have come loose and you can reconnect it. Mark from Greater London

Hi, baffled! Was driving along when the battery light came on power went so pulled over. Car now won't start. All electrics seem to be working. Tried to jump start it but nothing. Towed it home, the speedo dials, rev counter and petrol gauge don't move. Any ideas? 5 days ago my car wouldn't unlock with key fob could this be anything to do with it?

Answers

Howdy, had exactly the same with mine apart from the keyfob episode, googled it, I remember exactly but a specific 1st thing of turning ignition switch and re setting trip milometer at same time did the trick, hope it works for you too. Best of luck, Roger Roger Lewis from Lancashire

My car won`t turn over, all usual lights on the dash. It`s not even trying to turn over. Maybe a relay or fuse? It went with a pull start and goes fine, just won`t start. I don`t think it`s the starter because it`s as if no power is going to it. I`m going to check fuses with multimeter

I have had the car for about 7 years. A noisy clutch was replaced in 2008. Have been towing a caravan very successfully since 2008 - BUT last week I was towing again and suddenly I couldn't change gear. There was a lot of free play on the clutch pedal but eventually a gear was selected and I carried on. The clutch pedal returned to normal function. This happened 3 or 4 times on the same journey, on each occasion we were travelling up hill. There was a lot of free play on the clutch pedal but the clutch would still operate and then go back to normal with no play on the pedal. The clutch was definitely not slipping. I called the AA out and he said that this is not uncommon, but could find no fault. I'm am concerned now about the safety of the vehicle. I have used the car without towing with no problems at all. Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?

Hi your clutch issue could be down to a couple of things. the squeek could be a thrust bearing and it is hydraulicslly operated and the symptoms you describe could be down to insufficent fluid in the system. leo feaver from Hampshire
