Hello hopefully you can help me. My Fuel flap on my Meriva is no longer locking. There is a small whole in the side where I'm guessing the lock should pop out from to lock into the fuel flap hole. Nothing comes out of the hole when I press the central lock button my my keys. Is there a way to access this lock so I can see if it's either broke or loosened. I've tried having a look to see how I can get in but have been unsuccessful. Thanks

Hi I have a Meriva 1.7 cdti SE 2012, and have had no problems up until now, just 26000 miles, I get Code 84 coming on and the car going into limp mode. this happens intermittently as when you leave the car for a couple of hours the light goes out and car runs fine for a little while and when I leave it and come back to it again the Code 84 light comes on again and will not go off until I leave it again for a couple of hours, A friend suggested taking the negative connection off the battery and leave it of for up to five minutes and then put it back on, the code numbers come up and cycles through them and no more Code 84 for a while. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello. I've had my 2012 meriva for 6 months with no issues until now. Recently it's been really sluggish and really Judders under low revs. If I put my foot down in 3rd doing about 2000 revs it's Judders like pulling and stopping. I've read online it could be a maf issue. Does anyone have any experience of this issue

Answers

I am in exactly the same situation, 2012, bought 6 months ago and does exactly what you've said. What is a maf issue? Bec from Essex

Hi, could you please help. both my front electric windows have stopped working(wind up on back) I have checked fuses and they are ok. Also when I lock it I push the remote twice to switch immobilser on that has also stopped working - locks ok on first press but nothing happens when you push it again. Also when you drive off after a few seconds all doors lock, that still works but when get out to open the other doors they are still locked and I have to open them with the remote or when I have stopped to save taking the key out of ignition unlock the doors by pushing switch on dash. All this has happened together and not individually, I have contacted my local Vauxhall garage who said they would charge me approx. £120 to check it out and that it may be the 'body module' and would be very expensive, please help Thank you

Vauxhall Meriva - 1.4 Twinport Petrol 2004 The EML came on. Engine runs fine 95% of the time, just slight loss of power at low revs (10-15 mph). Knock it up a gear and it's fine. Doesn't misfire or stop. Garage tells me oil has leaked down the Oil Pressure Switch into the Engine ECU, and that as the car is nearly 12 years old, it's not worth replacing. Fab little car with only 59,000 on the clock. Your advice please - thanks

hi my meriva has carspanner light on when engine running. reset service light then started engine and it went off but came back on when reved the engine.their is nothing obvious i can hear or see that is wrong please help

Answers

Michael, have you tried driving it with the spanner showing? If so, do you lose power? If so it is possibly an egr valve clogging or if turbo is fitted it might be the turbo actuator that is sticking. Both parts can be cleaned and restored to working.. though egr may be in need of replacement. You could go down the line of diagnostics (engine tuning specialist will be cheaper than dealer) to find out what code in ecu... then fix it. R Evans from Caerphilly

Mysterious and very annoying 'metallic' hissing/ssshhhh noise when the air temperature outside is low (less than about 13 degrees C) and the car is in gear with foot on accelerator pedal. Same whether air con is on or off and when air circulation set to zero. It continues when engine is up to temperature but almost disappears when the air outside the car is warm. Stops completely when clutch is in/no accelerator, e.g. at traffic lights or when changing gear at any speed. The colder the morning, the louder the noise. Any ideas? Thanks!

I have a 2011 Meriva SE turbo. Today my car wouldn't start, a neighbour jump started me. Later on I tried to start the car again, nothing. I called the breakdown company, they looked and said it could be the engine. I left it running for 1hour, turned it off left it 20mins. While waiting, the top break light came on and stayed on even though the engine wasn't running and I had the keys in my hand. I opened the drivers door and the break light went out. I then shut the door and after a while the break light came on again. I tried starting the car, and it struggled to start. I have now disconnected the battery as the break light is still on. Any ideas

Hi Guys, My Meriva has a cigarette lighter power socket at the back, and another below the gear-lever (next to the USB). The rear power socket is working, but the front power socket AND USB are not working. There seems to be only one power socket fuse. Does anybody know if both power sockets and USB are connected to the same fuse/power supply??

Hi. I bought a new 2012 1.4 petrol Meriva two years ago. From about six months ago, every so often after driving and parking, the car won't start whe I come to leave. The immobiliser light comes on, the battery is still good but no signs of life. The local garage can't seem to sort this problem out. When the car won't start, the towage company mechanic just takes off the battery lead, waits a few minutes, puts the lead back and the engine starts. So I suspect its something to do with the computer system that every so often needs rebooting. Any idea what is causing the car not to start? Adrian

Answers

I can not be of any use with an answer but my 2012 diesel has done this to me tonight and I have ended up having to get a taxi to collect us and take us home. I called the Vauxhall garage to ask advice and was told that I would need to take it to them as they had no idea what the problem could be!! Thank you so much for the battery tip though, might try it when i manage to get back to my poor abandoned little car! Keel from Devon

When I start the car three boxes light up on the dash above the petrol pump ligh and remains on after all the other lights go out. Can anyone tell me what these are about. Please.

Answers

If its the ones that have been confusing me - its the rear seatbelt lights!! In the owners manual it shows a regular seatbelt sign on the dash, but when you look at the description it shows the other stupiod sign as an alternative. Good thing it looks nothing like a seatbelt (even after knowing what it's supposed to mean)!!! Grant from Surrey

Purchased my 2011 1.4 meriva 6 months ago and it's just started to break suddenly when I'm changing into 2nd gear. The whole dash board lights up and the car stalls. It had happened in 4th gear too. 1st and 3rd are fine. It doesn't happen all the time but I'm not driving it far. I've spoken to my local garage who have said there is no point doing a diagnostic on it if there is no engine management warning code ???? Nothing is showing on my dash when I start the engine . Any ideas ??

Answers

Bi this happened three times last week on our 61 plate, we only had a year..garage has now said the handbrake is jamming on and in need of new switch..personally I would insist the garage put it on a diagnostic test.. And replace the switch..it is dangerous if left and still being driven...I nearly had a car go into the back of me when this happened. Good luck sally from Dorset
