Both my Vauxhall Insignia`s keys have broken, one snapped apart and the other seemed to just fall apart. I`ve had my car from new, it`s a 2011 sri. Has anyone else had this problem because I think there`s a fault?
I don’t have the answer, but if you still have all the gubbings you can buy a replacemant housing on eBay for about £7. My first key rubber has perished. I haven’t tried yet, but you may be able to swap everything over. - Nathan King from England

Hi all. I`ve just got a Vauxhall Insignia and I have noticed that the blower controls for window, feet and centre are not adjusting to what I press. The lights on the buttons are lighting up and I can see at the rear of the controls the wheels moving but there`s no change to the air settings. What should I do?
Mine’s the same, it’s not adjusting to blow on windscreen when the windscreen button is pressed, it just blows out of the center console vent. If I turn off ignition and leave the car for a hour it seems to be ok again, must be a sticking flap or computer error - Paul Beaumont from Yorkshire

Hi. I`m having problems with my Vauxhall Insignia 1.8 petrol. It misfires when idling and also when I`’m increasing speed and about to change gear, or if I press down hard and fast on the accelerator there`s a rattle. My Vauxhall Insignia was running okay, then I went into hospital and when I came out it would only do 25 mph and 3500 revs. I thought it might be dpf so went up and down the bypass for over half an hour in third gear and over 3000 revs but it`s still the same. Could anyone help me with this problem please? Much appreciated, thanks. (hatchback)
Your car has gone into what they call ’limp mode’ you just need to get the sensor reset at a garage. It’s a simple fix and shouldn’t be expensive at all. Just beware when it has been reset as it may affect other sensors, so check all systems when its done. - Mike Wilson from England

My Vauxhall Insignia 2009 cdti nav Elite was driving perfectly doing over 100 mph when needed and was doing 500-1000 miles a week till I went on holiday. When I came back it went into limp mode doing no more than 55mph. I took it to main dealers who looked at it and said it might be the boost valve. I told them I wasn`t paying them for a maybe, either it was or it wasn`t the problem to which I was told they weren`t sure. Any suggestions please? (cdti nav elite)
I had the same problem with my 59 plate Insignia cdti sri. Just take it to your local garage for a quick diagnostics check, it usually costs about £10-£20. My fault was the Mass Air Flow Sensor, costing £70 for a replacement and 5mins to fit. Costs me less than £100 to fix the car and was actually in the garage for about an hour. My mate had the exact same problem about 6 months ago and Vauxhall kept his car for a week! - Wayne from Hampshire.
My Insignia has done a similar thing and it was at the dealer’s for two months! The dealer hired me a car for the duration but 12 months on and it’s done it again!? - Stu Brookes from Suffolk

The engine warning light has come on in my Vauxhall Insignia 2009 (auto) and I seem to lose power. The engine seems to have an upper rev limit and will not increase speed. This has happened twice now. I took the vehicle to a local garage who said they have fixed it but the same problem came back within 24 hours. My vehicle seems to have a problem increasing speed and changing from auto to triptronic and this does not help. Does anybody know what the problem can be please?

Hi. Please could someone explain what the problem is when the malfunction light (picture of engine block) in my Vauxhall Insignia stays on when the engine is running? Thank you.
I had the same problem, it is not serious and you can still run the car.The cause is usually the Lambda sensor, which regulates the mixture comming from your exhaust, you will need a OBD to read the code, any good garage will do it for free, or a small charge. If you take it to VX dealer they will charge £80. You can buy a replacement lambda on eBay, search around, I got one for £30. Take it to a decent garage or a mechanic you know to fit it, about 30mins. The main cause is not running your car up to high temp to burn off the carbon. Best of luck, just type into Google on your computer and you will find expert advice on this problem. Regards - Dave Corkrum from Lincolnshire

I noticed under my Vauxhall Insignia around about between the driver and passenger seat there is a rubber hose, around it is metal with a hole where the open ended hose finishes. It’s started dripping water and I wondered what it is? It drips about every ten seconds. I have been using the air con the last few days and wondered if it was like a condensation release pipe or something like that?

My Vauxhall Insignia`s central locking has suddenly stopped working. Nothing happens when I press the key. I have to lock all the doors with the button inside then lock the driver`s door with the key. When I remove the key from the igmition it doesn’t feel right. When I remove the key from the ignition, the radio and the lights don’t automatically shut off and the steering lock does not activate. Can anyone suggest what I can do about this please? (SRi)

My Vauxhall Insignia is showing error code 82. Change engine oil soon is appearing on my display. I have added a litre of oil but no change was noticed when checking the dipstick. Do I continue to top it up or what else should I do? (CDTI 2 litre 160bhp)
Just take it to a decent garage, they will plug in a OBD, and they will reset the on board computer and cancel the error code - Dave Corkrum from England
You can manually reset your oil % from the driver seat of your car. Turn the key to power up the car but not start it, use the left control lever and press mode button to get oil % then depress the button on the end of the same lever until it resets. This shoukd be done each oil change, but a lot of people forget. - Neil Surgeon from County Antrim

I have a Vauxhall Insignia Sri with 3,200 miles and the garage says it needs a new gear box. Shouldn’t it do more miles than this? Has anyone else had any problems? I have had it serviced 4 times as I got it new but never went to a Vauxhall garage so they say it`s my own fault, so any help would be great. Any suggestions please? Thanks. (Sri turbo)

The seal on my Vauxhall Insignia`s headlight has gone which is causing lots of condensation inside. Any ideas if I can have a new one fitted under warranty? If not any ideas where the best place to buy one would be please? (2.0 CDTI SRI)
I’ve had two new rear lights replaced under warranty for the same reason. I don’t see why a headlight should be any different? I’d certainly expect it to be covered - Steve Morgan from Dorset
Did you buy the car new??, reason I ask is I bought my 09 plate insignia 2nd hand, so obviously not knowing the full history on it, and my headlight was always filling up with condensation from the minute I bought it. After many frustrating weeks of attempting to dry it out, only to find it was back to square 1 the very next day, I took the headlight out to investigate further. This is not for the faint hearted though as you need to remove the front bumper to do so, but its really not that complicated to do. Once the headlight was out it was immediately clear what was causing the problem............ My car had very obviously suffered a minor bump previous to me buying to the front bumper, what I hadn’t realised is the bumper is secured by a selection of screws, and one of these screws fixes to the body of the headlight (very easily seen when bonnet is lifted). In my case what had happened was the headlight had absorbed some of the impact damaged as its connected by a screw to the bumper, so the plastic highlight body around the base of that screw had cracked and this was letting in water. I used an old soldering iron with a flat tip and carefully melted the crack shut, touch wood 1yr+ on its still as clear as a bell. It should not take a major disassemble (like i did) to check for any damage as the crack should be visable from above when the bonnet is lifted, worth a look....... Jeff Henderson from Durham

Hi, I have had my Vauxhall Insignia for a year now and constantly get Code 3 appearing. The garage checked when I bought it and said it was the sensor for the engine coolant level and apparently sorted it, but it`s still happening. Another garage has just told me the coolant cap wasn`t the right one for my car so it kept overheating and water was pushed out. The cap was replaced and the water topped up but the same code 3 is still appearing. Any ideas. please? Thanks.
This happened to me. You have to put at least 25 litres of water with coolant as it could have evaporated. I topped up coolant and the light kept coming on. It took about 4 hours to let the water settle. - Dianna Jones from England

My Vauxhall Insignia has done 2,000 miles since new and my oil is showing remaining life 21 per cent. I went to my dealer and he said that means the quality of oil, not what`s remaining. Can anyone help?
So what are you asking? The ’oil life’ reading shows that your oil will need changing soon. Intervals will vary with driving style & time rather than by a fixed time period - John Greenslade from Powys
Re-set the counter to 100% - Paul Wilby from England
