I've had my car now for awhile, recently it's started losing power mainly when it's cold. When it loses power the revs can still be dropped and raised however it's like the car is going into limp mode. At the present moment in time it's not happened when the car is fully warmed up just tends to be when cold, any suggestions would gladly be taken onboard. I've been told to buy a deisel fuel addictive to clean the.... Whatever it cleans, sorry but I'm not very mechanically gifted or savvy.

Vauxhall Insignia

Hi, my insignia sounds like a bag of nails when I first start it after it's been standing for a while. It still drives as it should except for it sounds slightly rough until it warms up. I also get the oil pressure warning light when starting up for few seconds. I have checked various forums and they say it could be oil pump, oil seals, oil sensor, cam/crank shaft, injectors and DMF. However I don't want to be replacing parts unnecessarily because this then becomes very expensive and would be cheaper to buy a recon engine. Has anyone had same issues and if so any solutions? I have the Vauxhall Op Com diagnostic software but it won't read my ecu properly, it will only read some but not all the info needed to diagnose a problem. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I have a insignia Sri vx - line nav, 2015. I've had it for a few weeks. Since iv had it, every time I switch on the front and rear de - misters to clear front and rear windscreens, I get a very nasty smell coming out of the air vents. It smells like a stale, plastic type of smell, and it stinks the whole car out. Have been trying to figure out where this smell is coming from. Has anybody else experienced the same.

i have a 2015 insignia diesel. It has started vibrating while i accelerate through the gears. I have taken it to Vauxhall for a diagnostic and they have come up with low fuel. Has anyone got any answers as this seems a common fault.

Answers

Hi Robert, I've had this issue with a Vauxhall Astra TwinTop a couple of years back but not my Insignia. The cause was actually found to be cheaper supermarket fuel. The car would go into 'limp' mode and shudder struggling to maintain a speed. Changing from Morrisons/Sainsburys fuel to Shell/Texaco fixed the issue for me, something that simple and didn't need anything doing at a Vauxhall Garage. Hope this may help! Answers

Hi Ronald . I have same problem with my 2.0 160 cdti. Starter motor was for me. When I open it bushings had become Ellipse. Just open it but be careful with two tiny bolts. They stuck very hardly. Now my car start super fast. I wish you luck with your car. Daniel from Denmark

I get an occasional high pitched beeping (about eight or nine beeps in quick succession) when starting up. It happens when the dash has gone through its warning light display routine. There are no persistent warnings on the dash and the car is running OK so it doesn't seem to be serious. It happens about half of the time on startup. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Hi, my wife's car has a service parking sensor light come on the display screen, on our 2011 insignia. The front and rear parking sensors don't work. When you press the parking aid button on the dash board it just flashes and goes off. Do you think this could be a faulty fuse or a fault with one of the sensors? Any help or advise would be appreciated.

Hi, I have 'service vehicle soon' and spanner light come on, everytime I start my Insignia 2.0 cdti - 2009. There is a big loss of power but no other issues such as smoke from exhaust, strange engine noises or anything else. Cant see any pipes split or anything 'leaking'. Will get to whatever speed I choose...but very slowly! Any one have a clue? Thanks.

Answers

This is a common problem and could be a split intercooler hose. You'll need to get this fixed sooner rather than later otherwise it will result in your DPF becoming blocked Paul from Greater Manchester

Is this the number of the sub menu you are viewing on the display? If you change to another display e.g. fuel consumption, does the number change, as this is another sub menu? Paul from Greater Manchester

Hi, is it normal when driving the car and the 'service' warning comes on the dash that the car drives on a slower safe mode (max 50 mph) When you stop, switch off and restart it goes well again, is this normal?? thanks

Answers

I had this not long after buying my insignia, was going into "limp mode"- turned out to be a faulty "Turbo Wastegate Solenoid" got a replacement from ebay for £35 and was simple to replace (at the front of engine bay connected to a couple of hoses) Martyn from West Yorkshire

I have a 2010 vaxhall insignia and my boot will not shut i have changed boot switch still not working does anyone have any ideas

Answers

Hi Phil, I had the same issue on my last insignia. Unfortunately this is just another part of the long list of common problems to plague the insignia. Boot switches do often become faulty but also so does the boot locking mechanism. I changed the switch first which worked for a while then had to take out, strip down and clean all parts of the mech. Also fitted a second switch in car to operate boot release. However I wouldnt recommend the strip down of the mech unless you are confident in working with electrical mechanisms because they are a fixed unit, not made to be opened. The option I'd recommend is to replace the locking mech. Craig from Leicestershire

Is there a brake pad warning light on this Model. I'm getting a rubbing noise from my front right hand wheel, The pad looks okay through the wheel as far as I can see..

Answers

Hi Steve, As far as i know there is no brake light associated with break wear. I have a 59 plate insignia. The first warning u get is the grinding noise. Get the pads changed quick before your disks are damaged. It is another pathetic Vauxhall idea. This manufacturer has produced a good looking care but very crap in quality and their dealers are liars. I detest them. Good luck. Sajid Mirza from Berkshire

I have a 2010 ecoflex deisel , the last few days the fan has been when switching engine off, I've checked coolant and that's fine, car runs at 90 degrees. Idle is sometimes 750 rpm so times sits at 1000 rpm is this connected so how? Is it normal for fan to run after switching off? Have drove 4k without this happening Many thanks if any one can advise Rich

Answers

Hi that seems to be the same as my ecoflex. The running at 1000rpm is when it is cleaning itself out regenerating. Paul from Essex

Hi I have vauxhall insignia 2011 2.0 diesel. Low oil pressure light on the dash and a rattle that sounds as if it's coming from the head area. It's had trouble with the glow plugs before all we're changed and seemed to drive fine up until about a week ago. I have plugged it in and it has come up with several codes. P03B1 cylinder 3 pressure variation to high. P03BB cylinder 4 pressure variation to high. P2282 MAF sensor performance. P0402 EGR flow excessive. P03B0 cylinder 3 pressure variation to low short to battery. P03BA cylinder 4 pressure variation to low short to battery P03B7 cylinder 4 pressure sensor circuit erratic.
