I am trying to get my iPod/iPhone to work through the aux there is not a usb but there is two aux cigarette type points have plugged iPod in and it does not show am i doing something wrong also have all the equipment for bluetooth but it does not show cd/aux menue

Answers

I have had this problem. The best fix I've found is to buy a Belkin transmitter. It can be powered from a cigarette lighter connection. Attach your iPhone/iPod to the Belkin (it also charges at the same time) and then click a button on the Belkin which then tells you what radio frequency to use and then tune in to that frequency on the car radio. Bob's your uncle! Downside: if you're in a busy radio frequency area or you're travelling some distance then you may need to re-tune but it's quick and easy to do. Sue from Hampshire

Look on the heater display where the fan pipes come on when you press heater seat button, if this stays on only 15 go 20 seconds then goes out it will be the heated pad or wiring to pad in seat PaulCassell Cassell from South Yorkshire

My insignia needs oil change how do I undo undertray

Answers

Under tray is in 2 section. If you doing on jack and stands, best is to take it out as as one whole sheet. To do this need to remove 4 or 6 bolts of 8mm in my car which are near closer to bumper . Then 2 or 3 on each side closest to wheel and couple on the back end. Plus remove 2 bottom clips of the wheel arch covers on both sides. It should come out as one big sheet. imran from Surrey

I have recently changed the thermostat but am having problems with the coolant level. However many times i top up the level it continues to leak from the overflow pipe on the reservoir, i have spoken to a vauxhall mechanic who told me to run it for a while after filling right to the top, it would bleed any airlocks automatically, but it will not stabilise at mid level in reservoir tank. Any ideas??

When putting the indicators on the light flashes on the dash but the tick tock sounds doesn't start for a few seconds later.... Then when turned off the sound continues for a few seconds. Only started today..... Any ideas?

Answers

My indicators flash on the display but half of the time no audible tick tock. dealer believed it to be a fault with the stereo as this was believed responsible for "service parking assist" regularly being shown as well. Had a new stereo unit fitted and 30 hrs later no tick-tock and Service parking assist displayed again.... Im now awaiting a new car!! Darren from Cambridgeshire

My Insignia is only 2.5 years old and giving the odd problem - previously I had a12 year old Vectra which gave no trouble at all! Recently, the Insignia wouldn't start after coming out of the doctor's surgery so I called Greenflag - the man said I had left my lights on (I definitely had not) so he started it up and told me to go to the garage the next day. The Vauxhall garage tested everything and said 'no problem'. A few days later the same thing happened so they fitted a new battery although the original was showing no problem. I am hoping that problem is sorted but now I have had CODE E 3 come up and the garage say again they can't find anything wrong... they even told us not to worry as we are covered by Greenflag... that is not the answer as, being partially disabled I have many hospital visits and cannot wait around for a Greenflag man to come!! The Code E 3 still comes on quite often so I am going back to the garage tomorrow... I have printed off the answer I have just seen in your article and will take this along with me! Don't you think Vauxhalls should be aware of this problem? Will be interested in your comments. Thank you for your article by the way. At 80 years of age I do like to have a reliable car!

Insignia I purchased is now 5 months old.now noticing that every time I have been on a run a puddle of water appears on the ground located at the rear of the engine roughly in the middle. Having not used the air con the pool of water is still evident.water level in coolant system has dropped. any suggestions please

Answers

I had the same fault with water under car just behind engine and when I found it, it was the water drain from window screen. Lift bonnet and look on l/h side bulk head and you will see a grill at top of chassis leg, water enters there runs in side chassis leg and runs out of a hole on chassis leg on floor body just behind engine . How do I adjust my bonnet in height and alignment? Basically I bought it from Available Car about a month ago and that had removed the bumper to paint it but when they fitted it the bonnet was catching! I then took it back and for some reason they have 're-positioned the bonnet? I have no intentions to take it back but it is nowstarting to bug me so I need to tackle it correctly myself. Drivers side needs to be slightly heigher at the hindge and it also needs to move towards to passenger side a little .

Hello I have got a starting issue where sometimes the car starts fine, however other times it turns after completing all the dash checks but it doesn't turn or click, then if you try again it turns over but extremely slowly then you get loads of dash issues coming up.Then you try again and it starts straight away,it drives fine and pulls very well it has completed 114000 miles. I have recently taking it into Vauxhalls Bromley and they completed a recall that was needed 13-R-025. They suggested after plugging It in that it needed an oil change oil filter and regeneration blasting up the M25 wasting my fuel first and then a re-check on the plug dignostics, they wanted 411 pound for this,i told them where to get off. After getting it home it started no problem and for the last few days its been fine, however it has just started to play up again, struggling to start and then starting no problem. It is very intermittent, anybody got any ideas? Regards NIGEL

Just had my master cylinder and brake and clutch assembly replaced but now have a humming noise, the same hum I was getting when I turned off the ignition. It is coming on and stays on until I press the accelerator, goes off but comes back on. I can make the hum go on or off by pressing the accelerator, the noise sounds like a pump or fan. Also my handbrake does not release when I drive off, I have to use the switch. Are these problems related to the £600 pedal assembly repair?
