My Insignia had just indicated error code 4 'Air conditioning off' and the temperature gauge has stopped working. I stopped and checked things over. The coolant level is ok and although I had done 40 miles of motorway driving it was not at high temp, (I could dip my finger in for a second without scalding) Everything seemed to be fine and I managed to drive home (another 60 miles) with no problem. Can anyone shed light on what the problem is? Thanks

On my way to work today and noticed my temperature gauge is not working and I already covered 35 miles and on centre display it said air con not working because engine is too hot. I checked my coolant and that's fine and my air con was off. So now every time I start my Insignia it keeps saying a/c not working engine, too hot?

Can anyone tell me how to fi d out if i have driver assist on my insignia 2012, I have checked the manual but this gives all variations not just my specific model. I believe this is when in cruise conyrol if you get too close to the car in front it adjusts your speed to avoid a crash Thanks

Answers

I think the driver assist is when you`re on a hill and the car holds the brakes on slightly so you don't have to rev the engine so hard when pulling away. JT and from Tyne and Wear

Hi, My car was running smoothly, I presses cruise control or some othe button and now my car doesn't go more than 10mph. Any expert suggestion will be helpful. Thnx

Answers

Hy, Maybe you pushed speed limiter instead of cruise control? Normally if you exit the cruise control mode by checking the on-off button on your steering wheel you disable everything you programmed. Even stopping and take out key of ignition and restart again must help. Otherwise I would suggest you check in the manual or drive by a dealership. Askold from Netherlands

Answers

Changing language can be done in the entertainment screen in the top middle of your dash. Push "Config" and go through the menu's you see (dail left of right with 2nd knob from top and push ring to enter/ confirm setting). Maybe you need a translater if some words aren't clear to you if displayed. Askold from Netherlands

Hi, I have just bought a 2009 CDTI with an A20DTH engine. The engine smokes very very bad black smoke and goes into limp home all of the time so it is parked up! It has had a high pressure pump, fuel rail sensor, dpf removed and re-mapped to suit. It has been in Vaxuhall main dealers who put recon injectors in and they could not sort it out, it had the ECU check and tested as well, the only fault codes arep039d, p03b1and p03bb all saying cylinder,1,3,4 pressure variation high. Can anyone help please?

My insignia keeps coming up service soon and as gone into limp mode . I have only had the car 2 months and I've had the car in at halford autos under the warranty they put new sensor on but could not clear the fault of p2453 fault code diesel particulate sensor fault they have said I need to go vauxhall but my warranty won't pay out I've tried a good run down the motorway but still struggles to get up to 30mph and service soon light still on does anyone know what I can do ?

Answers

Hi. I had this problem, I was told to take it out and run the engine at 3000 to 3500 revs, it took about 6 miles and this cleans the particular sensor. Happy days, no cost at all. I do this every now and again now. mark from West Midlands

hi there . just bought my first insignia 2lt 160 bhp. when i start the car up lt ticks over at around 1000rpm and dosent drop till temp gauge gets to half way . and when you rev the car in nutral it dosent rev more than 3000rpm is that normal. are all the insignias fitd with bluetooth, thank for your help

Answers

Hi, it's normal to go to 1000 revs, do not worry. If your car has the electronic handbrake ON, you are not gonna be able to rev more than 3000. This is done on purpose to avoid heavy and nonsense acceleration. But, if you release the handbrake, you can rev as much as you like. Valy from Greater London

I am trying to get my iPod/iPhone to work through the aux there is not a usb but there is two aux cigarette type points have plugged iPod in and it does not show am i doing something wrong also have all the equipment for bluetooth but it does not show cd/aux menue

Answers

I have had this problem. The best fix I've found is to buy a Belkin transmitter. It can be powered from a cigarette lighter connection. Attach your iPhone/iPod to the Belkin (it also charges at the same time) and then click a button on the Belkin which then tells you what radio frequency to use and then tune in to that frequency on the car radio. Bob's your uncle! Downside: if you're in a busy radio frequency area or you're travelling some distance then you may need to re-tune but it's quick and easy to do. Sue from Hampshire

Cannot get fuel cap open had car 6 months nether had problem before is there a fuel cap lock somewere

Answers

When you open the locks, do you have to click once or twice on the remote to open all doors? Same as taking key out of ignition, do the locks all open? Do you have set "speedlock" when the car is driving (all locks close)? Please check your settings in the entertainment screen. Your problem may be caused by the locking mechanism. You can open all locks by pushing the switch on the dash before you stop and get out of the car. Normally with all locks open you simply have to push on the lid and this will be open. Same to close again, it's a clicking mechanism like a ballpoint pen. Askold from Netherlands

My insignia needs oil change how do I undo undertray

Answers

Under tray is in 2 section. If you doing on jack and stands, best is to take it out as as one whole sheet. To do this need to remove 4 or 6 bolts of 8mm in my car which are near closer to bumper . Then 2 or 3 on each side closest to wheel and couple on the back end. Plus remove 2 bottom clips of the wheel arch covers on both sides. It should come out as one big sheet. imran from Surrey

I have recently changed the thermostat but am having problems with the coolant level. However many times i top up the level it continues to leak from the overflow pipe on the reservoir, i have spoken to a vauxhall mechanic who told me to run it for a while after filling right to the top, it would bleed any airlocks automatically, but it will not stabilise at mid level in reservoir tank. Any ideas??

My indicators flash on the display but half of the time no audible tick tock. dealer believed it to be a fault with the stereo as this was believed responsible for "service parking assist" regularly being shown as well. Joan Huntington, Derbyshire

Vauxhall Insignia

My Insignia is only 2.5 years old and giving the odd problem - previously I had a12 year old Vectra which gave no trouble at all! Recently, the Insignia wouldn't start after coming out of the doctor's surgery so I called Greenflag - the man said I had left my lights on (I definitely had not) so he started it up and told me to go to the garage the next day. The Vauxhall garage tested everything and said 'no problem'. A few days later the same thing happened so they fitted a new battery although the original was showing no problem. I am hoping that problem is sorted but now I have had CODE E 3 come up and the garage say again they can't find anything wrong... they even told us not to worry as we are covered by Greenflag... that is not the answer as, being partially disabled I have many hospital visits and cannot wait around for a Greenflag man to come!! The Code E 3 still comes on quite often so I am going back to the garage tomorrow... I have printed off the answer I have just seen in your article and will take this along with me! Don't you think Vauxhalls should be aware of this problem? Will be interested in your comments. Thank you for your article by the way. At 80 years of age I do like to have a reliable car!
