My step son has recently bought a 1.4 corsa LE with built in sat nav, he says he has to pay to use it, is this right? Having just spent over £14K this seems unreasonable. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

what are the correct tyre pressures for this model Thanks

Answers

Helen, the tyre pressures for your vehicle should be on a small stick-on panel that is visible when you open a front door.. it may be on the driver side or the passenger side and it may be on the door or the pillar... but it will tell you front and rear pressures and might give you different pressures according to load.. i.e. 2 passengers or four... they'll be about 36psi R Evans from Caerphilly

Keith, South Africa

Vauxhall Corsa

Hi everyone. I have an Opel Corsa 1.6T OPC. The vehicle doesn't start intermittently. When this happens an "F" is displayed on the information centre on the cluster. The vehicle is at a dealership, where they have found that there are communication DTC's between the BCM(Body Control Module), ECM(Engine Control Module) and the EBCM(Electronic Brake Control Module). They have tested all the wiring, there are no open circuits, short to voltages, short to ground or open\high resistances. ie: all wiring is okay. They have however spoken to the factory and they say that the BCM is faulty. Has anyone had this problem before and what was done to repair the vehicle? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Problem is filling it up with diesel. Pumps keep cutting out whatever angle I hold them at after only getting about £1-2 worth in it this has become a constant problem now.

Answers

Don't put the nozzle in all the way and don't pull the trigger to the max. R Evans from Caerphilly

"Don't put the nozzle in all the way and don't pull the trigger to the max" This makes no difference and is not a fix. Thanks for trying Jim Jim Thompson from City of Glasgow

Jim, I can't see how it could be an issue with the car tho.. I use Corsas galore in work and fill them often, but don't have this issue that you experience.. ok.. the pumps do occasionally cut out, but doing as I suggested does the job... unless your vent pipe is blocked and the air pressure as you fill the tank cannot escape.. i.e. the nozzle detects a full tank because of the pressure... but I can't explain why the vent would be blocked, unless it's kinked R Evans from Caerphilly

how do you remove a battery from vauxhall corsa active 1.0L ?? Thank You.

Answers

Lift the bonnet.. the battery will be on the right.. use a 10mm spanner to remove the negative terminal and move it out the way, then remove the pos and move it out the way.. to the left of the battery there's a clamp at the base of the battery held in by 13mm bolt.. use a ratchet with extension to undo and move the clamp out the way.. remove battery. Answers

You need to establish how rainwater is getting onto the seat.. get someone to help.. 1 person sit IN the car (passenger side) and the other squirt a constant jet of water from hose onto the roof.. wait for water to appear inside.. take it from there. R Evans from Caerphilly

Hi my vauxhall corsa eco flex 2013 plate broke down on christmas eve as i was driving to the destination i was going to the car felt like it was losing power i pulled up went into argos came back out and the car wouldnt start i even asked a passer by for a bump and the car still wouldnt go its ticking over but not staying on, i did get recovered by the aa but all he as said is that he suspects the timing chain as slipped which im not having as the cars only done 26,000 miles i just dont no what to do i was wondering if anyone has had this priblem and give me some advice ino aa mechanics ate fully trained etc but i cant help thinking hes just said tjst to get me home as it was christmas i just dont no i reckon its the battery

Answers

Bump starting a car can and sometimes does cause the timing chain to jump a cog... but your problem started before then. The battery doesn't cause power loss.. IT is used to start the car and store energy to restart it.. once started the alternator provides the electrical energy to the car and recharges the battery.. your alternator may have gone, but if that was true, you'd struggle (and possibly fail) to turn the engine to get it started to tick over. You may have a fuelling issues.. blocked filter (air or fuel filter) of faulty fuel pump or a sensor may have gone.. have it plugged in to diagnostic computer and see if there are fault codes associated with an electrical component R Evans from Caerphilly

I have a problem with my corsa its a 1.3 cdti 09 plate I tried starting it up yesterday and I was hard but eventually fired up but was blowing white smoke not terrably but like cold car on a cold morning, and I have no throttle response, what so ever so had it tow to garage he plugged computer in and all came up was, glow plugs he changed them and its still the same, there is no engine management light on what so ever, and mechanic hasn't got a clue what's,wrong with it will someone help please

Answers

If the wiring TO the glowplugs is faulty then the ECU will read a faulty glowplug.. when it may be good ! Change the glowplug and still get the same message.. could be the wiring to them.. even tho they are only on for a short while they take a good bit of power to preheat the cylinder.. and faulty or dirty wiring would interfere with that. Not massively familier with Corsa but there may also be a fuse or relay or some device to operate them. R Evans from Caerphilly

I have a Vauxhall Corsa One 1.2 34k miles It started to squeal a couple of weeks ago when it has been driven for a while, stationery and through first and second gear. Took it back to the garage I bought it from and they said it could be the fan belt so I left it there with them while they ran the engine without the belt, to see if that's what it was. I got a phone call from them to say that they couldn't see what was causing the issue as such but to replace the alternator if it was worrying me. They replaced it I took It for a long drive today and it's started again! If replacing the alternator hasnt done anything, any ideas on what else it could be? Thanks.

Having issues getting the car into Drive or Reverse mode. Took 15 minutes to get it into Drive today - once its running its fine but its letting me down more and more. Could this be a gearbox problem or an auto clutch problem? Local garage don't seem to know, local Vauxhall dealer plugged it into their machine and said there was nothing wrong with it (don't think you get a code on those 2 faults) so I'm at a loss to know what to do next..... 76, disabled and need my car on the road, been without or a week now. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Can anyone suggest what might be wrong with my Corsa automatic. The control indicator for the engine electronics lit up, at the same time the engine made a very unusual (and alarming) noise. I pulled over and stopped the car, and when I got out, I noticed a smell of burning ( maybe oil?) coming from under the bonnet.
