Toyota Avensis Tourer 2009

I have had a problem with the gear change since I purchased this car, which at the time had covered 8,000 miles. I reported my concern shortly after my purchase and many times since. The dealer has tinkered but not solved the problem. When changing from 1st to 2nd it feels as though it is slipping out of 1st rather than being disengaged, then I have to feel around to engage 2nd and sometimes it actually clunks into position... 3rd and 4th are similar but with less obvious need to feel for the change. The whole experience is a very stiff gear change. I suppose a mechanic would call it a notchy change. Most of my driving is done on motorways so I use the clutch less than a town driver but am concerned that unless this problem is resolved I will be faced with an unnecessary expense. Do you have any suggestions? (D4D)
