I am loving my Skoda Octavia Estate which I have had for five months. When I get up to 50 mph it seems to lose power, I have to accelerate and push it a bit and overtaking is not very punchy. It also seems to run better in fifth gear. Does anyone have any ideas? (1.9tdi)

In many ways a very satisfactory car since I got it in 2002 - economical (55-60 mpg at legal speeds) reliable (except for the windscreen wipers falling off...); used intermittently. PROBLEM = Dampness in estate area - first sign= dampness in L rear wheel well; cured when I realised the rear washer pipe was loose (3 months ago...) - now - most of carpet in load area damp and mouldy L and centre, water in spare wheel well (wheel rim seriously rusty) - any suggestions? Discovered same yesterday when cleaning out car. (Octavia Classic Estate) Think it may be leaking through the rubber bungs in the bottom of the wheel well. We looked underneath and saw two of them were qute badly damaged. Going to phone service dep and see if they can shed light on it. If they won’t advise then we will try a mechanic mate of ours before sending it in as it looks like quite an easy job to fix if that is what it is. It was only wet in the well. No carpet etc above was affected so assume it must have come in from below - Anne from Cornwall

How do you replace the catch on the back of the rear seat of a Skoda Octavia Estate? Thank you.
