Battery discharged when car is not used for two or three days. New battery was fitted but problem remained. Radio tuner fuse was removed, upon advice from garage mechanic. Power to radio was found to be still ON? But windscreen washer pump failed to function? When radio fuse was replaced washer pump functioned again. Problem with battery drain remained. Radio tuner unit removed and battery drain problem was fixed. Now I have no radio, of course. Something appears to be wrong with the cars radio tuner and the cars wiring. Has anyone had a similar experience? What is the remedy? (Comfort)

After jump starting my wife’s Modus the digital display wouldn’t work. I’ve checked all the fuses and I can’t see anything visibly wrong with the wiring. I’ve also changed the bulbs. Still completely dead. I now fitted a second hand display but still no joy. Has anyone any thoughts on this as I am completely out of ideas...

You need to take the Battery wires completely off leave overnight the system should reset. If not, you will have to replace the relay. Don’t jump start direct from battery - Mick from Durham

On my Renault Modus, I have "Check Emissions" showing on the dashboard and the car is running badly. What does this message mean and what should I do about it?
Answers
Hi, I’ve had exactly the same problem. It started the day it passed its MOT. Initially I change sparks which helped a bit, but still jerking when accelerating and get the "Check Emissions" notice now and again. Researching at the moment and think it could be the coil pack. I will repost if I get a solution - Nigel McQuillan from County Antrim
I had the same problem with my 2006 Megane. As you say, it was the coil pack. All four should be changed at the same time. When I had mine done, a long serving problem with my air con suddendly cured itself! - Michael Gascoigne from Northumberland
You have probably got this sorted by now but just to help others. Also, is the the engine ’holding back’ when cruising at motorway speeds? Or, if you live in a very ’dusty’ area. Or maybe you have just neglected to change the air filter at the recommended mileage, then do so. It may take 50 to 100 miles for the ’warning light’ to ’reset’ but, it worked for me. This is a VERY CHEAP job even at a RENAULT DEALERSHIP. About £30 - Steve Jay from Scotland

Hi, can you please confirm where you put the oil in? There are two yellow caps, one at the front and when you open the dip stick is attached. Then there is the other one at the back which you can get unless you remove the cover. So can you confirm I put the oil in the front cap? Many thanks.

The injection light came on, metal filings found in tank. I have been advised I may need complete fuel injection system, only had the car 10 months. Do I have redress from garage where I bought it or could it be down to contaminated diesel? Please help as I haven’t got the money for repair.

The car sometimes does not start on the first turn of the engine key. Most of the time, it does start fine. It is not the battery because when it does not start, the engine is turning normally. But recently and more and more frequently, it has taken two, three, up to five times to start. After such episodes (more than three trials), the check engine light comes up with "anti-pollution to be controlled". This warning goes out after I start normally about a dozen times. Cold, hot weather/engine does not seem to make a difference. Any idea?

The car started fine this morning but when I got in the car half an hour later, to return home, it wouldn’t start. It came up with the message "ignition failure". After trying it a few more times, it did start and has been OK since. Do I need a mechanic to look at it to give a check?
