Which Haynes manual covers the Renault Megane Sport Saloon 2005 model? Or can someone recommend a manual that describes how you replace the hinged plastic unit that fits around the end of the fuel pipe?

The boot on my 2004 Renault Megane saloon will not open with the remote or by pushing the button. I have changed the battery in the remote, and all the other doors work fine. Is there a way of opening the boot from the inside? Thank you in advance. (Privilege).

Why does the fuse in my Megane, under the bonnet for my back lights, keep blowing? I’ve got a new fuse box fitted under the bonnet and they said they checked the wiring but it’s still happening. The fuse will last about 2 days or so. Please help.

Hi, when I insert the ignition card the manual says the dashboard lights up. Soes this include the speedometer numerals and speed indicator needle?

Answers

I have had two Megane Sports saloons - a 2005 1.5 DCI 100, and currently a 2008 1.5 DCI 106. Inserting the ignition card does nothing unless you press the Start/Stop button. Press the Start/Stop button alone and radio, electric windows, sunroof all work, but the dashboard does not light up. Press the Start/Stop with either the clutch or brake pedal depressed and all the warning lights illuminate and of course, the engine starts. The only way to light up the speedo and needle is to switch the car lights on - Phil from Warwickshire

We have had problems with both passenger and driver electric windows - both have had to be fixed at a cost of 430 pounds each time. We would like to know if this is a Renault fault.

Answers

Yes, it is a bad design, I have an 03 Megane and have had both mine replaced. Then 13 months after one being replaced the new one went again. Renault would not honour any warranty as it was more than 12 months old. After an argument I was offered 20% off to get it fixed (which I declined) as it was 1 month out of warranty. The main problem I am told is rain water dripping onto the motor through the window rubbers. Renault know of the problem but when getting £400 plus for each replacement why change it because they are reaping in loads of cash for a dodgy design and making a huge profit in every one they replace!
