My Renault Master alarm goes off about 5 seconds after locking the doors. Every time. All the doors are shut properly, the bonnet is shut properly and there aren't any birds or moths flying around inside to set the alarm off. Any ideas much appreciated - my neighbours are turning against me!!

Hi I have a 2.5 Renault master fwd starts and idles well runs well on minor roads but as soon as I'm driving on the motorways it runs ok till it reaches about 60-70 mph the. It stars to feel jumpy and make a popping noise for the front drivers side . the revs are around 2500 - 3000 rpm if I keep it below 60 it seems ok but as soon as I try to increase the speed it make the same noise and becomes jumpy again . It's been to the garage the drivers side drive shaft has been replaced with a new replacement driveshaft but it's made no difference as it still has the same problem . I would be very greatfull if any one could identify what the problem might be . Thanks for your time

Driving along and I had a breakdown, went to investigate and noticed there was clutch fluid leaking. I had no brakes at that point so could not continue. I have been advised that I need a cylinder sleeve. If this is the case do I also require a whole clutch system if the cylinder sleeve has to be replaced. The van is a Master MM35 DCI 125. Please advise.

Answers

Alan, what has been diagnosed is a clutch slave cylinder... that can be changed without a whole new clutch. The part should not cost a ransom and is not too difficult to change.. the hydraulic fluid will then need re-filling and bleeding.. and you're good to go. On flea bay the part ranges from 30-100 quid. However if your leaking fluid has managed to contaminate the clutch then you'd need a new clutch too.. not sure on the setup of Master if this could happen or not. R Evans from Caerphilly

I have a motor home based on a 2013 Renault master 3 van chassis, Semi auto quickshift robotic gear box I ran the vehicle last month and left it on the drive. Last week i went to start and the battery was dead. I have recharged the battery. Today i went to start. When i put the ignition key in there were no engine or gearbox check lights or gear box gear selection on the dash. I have the mileage indication and a van graphic lit. but no other check lights. When i try to turn over ( foot on the break) just a click and nothing else. Like the immobiliser has not reset. then the dash is blank. Lights work, other 12v electrics work (radio, rear view camera)

The van has been running fine with no excessive smoke. Today the van lost power followed by the EML and error message 'check emissions' and then 'Check injection'. The only thing that has been different the past few days is a very fine metallic rattle almost like a manifold cover vibrating. When I popped the bonnet there was some excess oil in the groove around the filler cap but it was quite watery and put this down to the wet weather? The van has been into he garage today who have explained that there was a small part snapped off a valve (sorry not a mechanic) possibly EGR valve so they tried 'blanking' it but the problem is still there After reading Google reports and forums could the tinny rattle I'd been hearing have been the exhaust manifold? And could this be the reason for the EML? The van still starts on the button and is not missing in any way while idling. Any help would be appreciated

Hello, Recently brought a pre registered jan 2015 master that had 24 delivery miles on the clock and had been sat on forecourt for the last 7/8 months. I have since covered 1800 miles and becoming increasingly concerned that the van is very underpowered. Pulling away from junctions and going up hill seems very flat? This master is the energy 135bhp twin turbo. My previous van a 120 bhp fiat Ducato was far more powerful in general. Renault had a quick test drive recently with mechanic finding no problems? I just wonder with the van stood for a long time perhaps one of the turbos is stuck? Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks Mark

Hi there, I have a minibus converted to a camper. The sliding door is very hard to shut, I have to use a lot of force to get it to close. If I don't I have a cm gap along the top and rain gets in. It will still lock in the position. All pins sticking out from body of van are very worn. Garage has quoted £400 to replace all parts. This seems very steep to me. Are there any other options I can explore?....

Hi I have just bought an ex ambulance(mod) that I am going to convert to a camper, motor home. Thevan is great only 47k miles,it is still kitted out as an ambulance. There is a switch under the drivers seat that switches on the aux battery and all the 12v sockets in the back light up,although I still can't switch on the rear interior light, fan, night heater, winch etc, I was wondering if anyone has worked on one of these and could tell me what I am missing? Any help working out how this thing is wired up would be much appreciated, thank you.

Hi, I own a small company (me in my own) I'm an ambulance repair, service and basically ANYTHING to do an ambulance Specailist. From engines to gearboxes to wiring looks and control systems etc etc etc. On your vehicle you should have a second battery that runs all the "extra" ambulance equipment... Internal salon lighting and heating etc etc and some times the split charge relay system fails, some just have literally a big relay that's controlled by an ignition live feed and some have a more over complicated split charge system. Either way I'd be checking the second battery to see if it has any power in it. Also check that the wiring is still intact as some people actually cut threw the wiring to "decommission" it so normal public can't re fit blue lights etc etc. I have had to re wire or trace the electrical problem on many many ex ambulances, I've even had to re commission ambulances for the private sector when they have bought ex NHS vehicles from auction etc etc. With yours I need to no if it has a "Phoenix" system fitted or if it's just basic switched on the dash. If it's had a Phoenix you will see a hole in the dash that looks like a radio should be there. If you let me no the year of van I can tell you a lot more of what to check. Michael from Lancashire

My van has not been used or even turned over for the past year due to ill health. I have tried to start the engine and I have found that there is no power. None of the dash board lights are lit when the ignition key is turned. I have replaced the battery, and checked that the battery is fully charged. I have also checked all the fuses - they appear to be fine. The last time it was used it started with the first turn of the key. It has done very little mileage due to it being used just for recreational use. The oil has been checked and is fine. Has anyone got any ideas that may help me with this problem please.
