I have just purchased a Renault Laguna Sport Tourer. Unusually, it does not have roof rails. I thought that they were standard for all Sport Tourers, but obviously not. There are no holes in the roof for fitting rails. Is it possible to fit the standard roof rails, and if so are there mounting points somewhere in the roof? I have bought a pair of rails on eBay, but am having some doubts about fitting them and possibly damaging the roof of the car. Can anyone advise? (Dynamique)

I have a W reg Renault Laguna Sport Auto Hatchback. The car will start once but once stopped the red light does not flash on the dashboard and it will not start again, the immobilizer seems to kick in. The battery has to be disconnected and reconnected before it will start, every time. Can anyone explain the problem and supply the solution please?

Hi. I have a Laguna 2.2-litre diesel estate, 02 plate. When I put the card in, it runs through its checks and starts. After 20/40 seconds it makes a warning sound and then the Amber ’Service’ light comes on. There is no information. I have have checked the oil level and that seems OK, also I have checked the tyre air pressure and that seems OK too. Do you have any other suggestions, please? Thanks in advance.

Would a faulty glow plug cause the "check injection" light to come on. And when the light is on the car runs sluggish...

I have had the same problem, going on two years now with my 05 plate, I have had the car into multiple garages even the Renault service station and no one can tell me what is wrong. All the garages just suggest they make a list of what it can be and start work, but that will cost me a small fortune. On Saturday, I had my recently changed cam belt and drive beltchecked and the guy said I have small deposits of diesel building on the drive belt so one of my injectors is leaking only a small amount but his may be the cause. Pop the bonnet and remove the large black covering to revel 4 silver injectors connected by tubing. Look under the black cover and see if you have any black residue, if so, you may have a leak as well - Rob Moreton from Somerset
Simple answer: yes - Stephen Follows from England
Sounds like either the injectors are leaking or it’s the leak off pipes. If it is the leak off pipes then it’s a case of a new set of "O" rings, but Renault don’t seem to sell these separately, only with the whole leak off pipe assembly for £70.00 - Rob from Somerset

I parked my Renault Laguna last night having had no problems. I went to start it this morning, it turned over but wouldn’t fire. Have tried to kick it over several times but nothing. Although I did notice a clunky noise after it tried to start! Any suggestions as to what it might be?

My Laguna’s sat nav system has packed up it shows I am in a completely different place. Could the antenna be damaged and if so where is the antenna? Is it combined with the radio aerial?

My 2002 Renault Laguna Dynamique 1.8 year is a petrol driven car but it sounds like a diesel when warmed up. Do I need to change the oil and filter?
Answers
I have the same problem with mine. I’ve been told that it is the cam followers. I just got the car and the last owner run it low on oil (possible cause). I am getting it fixed now so I’ll keep you updated - Chris Wilton from County Londonderry

After motorway driving, the dipstick has worked loose and oil is blown into the radiator fan thus coating the engine compartment in oil. I have changed the dipstick rubber seal and it has still happened. Any thoughts ? (initiale)

I am having problems restarting my car if the engine is hot. It will turn over but not start. It can take 1hr+ to start again if the engine is very warm and the weather is mild too. Has anyone else experienced this? (Dynamique)
