Can any tell me the approximate cost to have the electric handbrake replaced Thanks

Answers

I had my auto handbrake replaced in summer 2015 it was about 460.00 for the part and then if I remember correctly local garage charged about 120.00 to fit So all in cost 580.00 Will never buy another car with auto handbrake again Too expensive just for the part even looked for second hand. Butt most were about the same price as new D patterson from Durham

Hi I have a 1.6 petrol grand scenic expression and this morning it decided not to turn on. No warning, we've plugged it in and there's no error codes. The only thing that's different is the steering. I put the key card in, tried to turn it on and the steering unlocks then a message pops up, steering lock off remove key. If I do that the steering lock will go back on but unlocks again when I try and turn the car on. Has anyone experienced this or know how to fix it? any help greatly appreciated as I love my scenic!!

Ho been getting a warning come on my dash saying stop check injections system. Had it diagnosed by local garage and its all pointing towards 2 things boost system fault and cruise control module fault. The fault is intermittent and i noticed lack of power. the vehicle is lacking power now as if a hose has split, but no sign of any breakage. The dash also says check de pollution system as well, and diagnostics say no DPF found although there is definitely a DPF on the vehicle is it possible someone has deleted this from the system rather than replacing?. Engine starts first time every time first turn, so scratching my head a little as to the problem, would the cruise control module cause all this or any of the other things mentioned. Any help would be great thanks Martin

We are having intermittent issues with our steering lock. Sometimes the car will start normally but increasingly it will fail to start as the steering lock is locked into place and wing mirrors remain in the closed position. The steering lock has been replaced but the problem still remains. When the car fails to start the dash displays the message "Turn steering wheel + START". Never had this problem until it failed for the first time in August 2015. Can you provide any information or advise?

Hello, I have a leak from the screen washer bottle on my sceinic but I am unable to find a way to release the bottle from the two retaining brackets. I have removed the right hand road wheel arch protector and can't see or feel any retaining bolts or screws, there is movement in the bottle but it will not release from the brackets. I am trying to avoid removal of the front bumper and under shield as a butcher has had a go at the bolts before and torn the sheild. Is there any secret to releasing this bottle, I can't wait for your reply. Many thanks!

Hi need help i went through a puddle thinking it wasnt deep water came in the car from the engine area just under the glove box where my electrics are i could see it dripping down from the wires. This has now made my electrics play up the back windows open on there own and dont go back up the switches front and back for the back windiws dont work either. You can usually close the windows with the key card this no longer works either. My parking break light has now come on saying check it. I have checked all fuses and they are fine im now stuck. Is it a case of just letting the electrics dry out or will i have to strip the passanger side out to sort the wires and replace? Need to get this sorted as my kids are in the back. Thank you inadvance

Hi with our car when we go on long jurneys when we start the car up a wearning light comes up saying stop battery charging fault can you plz help me on what mite course this to happen

Answers

The alternator might have spoilt. For my case, the warning light come and go off intermittently at first, then one day it just stay there. If you continue to drive with the warning light on, the battery will run flat and lose power steering while driving. Then the car will not run and you have to tow it to have the alternator replace. This is my personal experience and happened to my 8 yrs old Renault scenic. leslie from Singapore

Check to see if your battery negative has a plastic moulding on it ,we have a modus and on putting the battery back I could not tighten it up it still moved looking at it it has a piece of the molding in between the clamp ,so ripped the molding off and then the clap did up, let's face it with a Renault you need the best connections you can get ! peter hicks from Bournemouth

Hi. I have a 2010 Grand Scenic 2.dCi Privilege. I keep getting message on dash saying get fuel injecting & anti pollution systems checked. I have just had 36,000 mile service done & had new air flow meter fitted at there suggestion to cure the problem within days fuel injection came on 5 times then anti pollution came on, when this comes on it stays for days. The 1st time the anti pollution came on I took the car to the nearest dealer, they said to take car for long run to burn soot off catalytic converter. As I had just driven over 200 miles motorway I knew it wasn`t that. ANY OTHER IDEAS PLEASE. over to you. THANKS!!!

The water draining gulleys at the front of the car are blocked with leaves etc this causes water to collect and it can't drain away. They need to be cleared or it will damage the internal electrics. hope this helps martin from Greater London

my orange warning light is on with the spanner showing and above it says service.I had it serviced 7 months ago (3000 miles)??

Answers

Hi Henry Did you have it serviced at a renault dealer ? If you did, they shoul dhave reset the service interval. If they have not done that then take it back and tell them to do it. Perhaps you had the service done independantly, if so, and the interval was not reset, you need to take it to someone with a decent diagnostic (preferably a can clip) and get them to reset it. Hi I have a grand scenic 1.5 2008, recently had a clutch go, taken to mechanic to have clutch and dual mesh fly wheel replaced, since leaving the garage however the electric windows no longer rise up or down smoothly and the automatic hand break doesn't release when pulling away like it used to. Have returned to garage and they have said there is no fault with the work they have done. Anyone have any ideas before I spend a fortune taking it into Renault to have repaired ? Thanks x

My query is when I brake hard a message appears "low oil pressure" "STOP" ! I wonder what causes this? The local Halfords shop says it could mean that the oil pump needs replacing but they were not sure. I also called in the AA and they could not find any faults. Anybody had similar message and any solutions?

Answers

Have you checked the oil level. I seems very basic but if your oil level is low and under hard braking it move forward in the sump it can make the auto level reader give a false alarm. However not that false as it indicates a lack of oil/routine maintenance allowing this to happen. Betchworth from Surrey

I have a 55 plate grand scenic. I ad it MOT which it failed for a track rod end. However when driving home there was a complete electirc failure - nothing works. I pushed it to the garage and today have replaced the fuses and tested battery all fine - i noticed what looked like an electric plug hanging down from underneath the car with nowhere to connect it to (I dont know where this came from). However still nothing works. I have removed tension from the timing belt and the pump has not seized up. Still nothing. Also the boot wont open. Has anyone any ideas as i am coming close to scrapping the car.
