Renault Grand Espace 1998

The water temperature bars on my Renault Grand Espace 2.2td go up to "overheating" approx 1-2 mins after starting, then the STOP comes on because the car believes that the engine is too hot, but it`s a false reading. I`ve changed the thermostat but still have the problem. Are there two thermostats or has anyone any ideas? Cheers. (2.2td)

Renault Grand Espace 2000

Hi there. I have got a rubbing/grinding noise coming from the passenger front wheel on my Renault Grand Espace. It’s not bearings or brakes or springs. Any ideas?

Check your CV joint! Mine’s a 1998 Grand Espace, both mine went, apparently this was a weak point and replacements are modified / more robust! Steve Phillips from England

Renault Grand Espace 2001

My Renault Grand Espace’s exhaust has cracked around the mani cat. Can I remove the cat? As it has two cats fitted, one in the middle section and the one in question from the manifold. Also, where can I buy one from? All websites don’t show my exhaust system so far. Any help from anyone will be great, thanks.

Renault Grand Espace 2005

Have had Renault Grand Espace for 3 days - all OK until today. Car will start, OK comes up in display, ready to drive then a beep and the word STOP with a battery in display unit. A message says "battery charge fault". The engine is still running but when I try to pull off the car will not move. Any advice would be much appreciated please. Thanks.

Renault Grand Espace 2005

When my Renault Grand Espace is in drive position there is no power. The car starts very slowly, like it has a blocked injector, no gas or oil. This is happening everytime I stop (at traffic lights or at the roundabout). Any ideas anyone?

Renault Grand Espace 1999

The battery light on my Renault Grand Espace stays on even after I replaced both the battery and the alternator. Any ideas what I should do next?

Sounds like it could be a bad earth, use a multimeter to check the voltage at the battery. It should be around 12v with engine off and at idle about 13.5v - Stuart from England

Renault Grand Espace 2000

I jacked my Renault Grand Espace up on the driver’s side for a week while I changed the drive shaft. Now the car is fully back on the ground the car won’t start at all. I have checked all the fuses, and they seem OK - can anyone offer any advice?

Does the instrument cluster go blank when you try to start? If it does, then the steering lock sensor is faulty and needs replacing. This sensor failed when our clutch was replaced - Andrew Basson from South Africa

Renault Grand Espace 2005

When I start my Renault Grand Espace automatic from cold, if I leave it to idle for a few minutes it is fine, but if I attempt to rev it or drive it, it splutters and chugs and then stalls. Has anyone got any ideas?

Did you get sorted on this? It could be two things either a blocked fuel filter or a blockage on the bulb that you can prime the engine with - John Prout from Cheshire

Usually the rubber seal leaking where the pump sits in the tank. Seal sometimes comes separately, or if not re-use old with a proprietary sealant - Steve J from England
