Got in the car this morning and my heating stuck on 18 and I could not turn it up or down! When I stopped the car and took the key out the button to clear the front screen still had the light on. When I locked the car with the fob both the wireless type icon button flashed and the alarm button. Can I reset something to sort this?

I have a 407sw diesel on a 56 plate. It has just clocked up 107000 miles. I like this car but i have juat recently had the particulant fluid level light start to come on which i was quoted £171 to replace and reset. The aircon pump has also recently packed up so doesnt cool down sufficiently. And to top it of when driving at a slower speed it start to what feels like splutter or miss a beat until you accelerate. But if i accelerate to hard it feels like it will die if i dont release the throttle. I wish to give it a service but i am wondering if i will be needing to spend too much on it. Could i be lucky and just replace some glow plugs and filters? I don't really want to have to replace the car yet unless i have too. Also how long is it adviseable to drive the car before the particulant fluid has to be replaced in case of damage? Thanks

I have had a valve stem break (electronic monitoring system) when removing a punctured rear tyre, so now the dash is just reading STOP with the spare (normal valve)fitted. I have purchased a repair kit for the valve stem which the local company will put in when they put on a new tyre for me tomorrow, but the Peugeot agent has told me that IF it works then the computer will have to be reset (by a Peugeot agent). Is this correct or is there a more simple answer? The Peugeot agent also told me that it is impossible to repair the wheel valve and that I should be having a complete new unit fitted to the wheel. They have quoted me a rough figure of £100 for the valva plus fitting £30 and resetting the electronics at about £40+. When I said that it sounds like a lot of money they suggested that I have all the wheel valves replaced with normal rubber ones and do away with the dash monitoring / warning system. Can anyone help?

Hi, I have a Peugeot hdi estate on a 2000 plate. I've had the car now for 2 years just to take my youngest to school and back. Recently I lent my car to my partner and the engine management light has come on, never had an issue before other than having to turn the air con switch off every time I start the car as it flashes "engine too hot", even when it's stone cold! I'm trying to find what temperature the fan should kick in too. I have a funny suspicion my fan is not working. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

All of a sudden I can't unlock the steering, there was no inkling that this was a problem, it did it once and that was it. I tried WD40 but no joy so if I have to replace the ignition barrel how do I get it out? It just seems to me that there would be a sign that there was a problem but it only did it once and that was it?

Dear Sir, My 2009 Peugeot 407 2.0 Petrol has a couple of problems. 1. After repairing the horn and reconnecting the -ve wire to the battery and start the car, the airbag comes on. Have tried removing the -ve cable and waited for an hour remains unchanged. Would it be safe to keep on driving? 2. While driving at 50 mph or 80 Khmer there is a grinding sound from the gearbox. When The accelerator is released the sound disappeared. And step on the accelerator the sound come back. What is the cause of the problem? What are the parts that need to be replaced and where to obtain the spares? The model of the gearbox is AL 4 (PST). 3. Can I convert to a VF gearbox which is German made? Understand this gearbox is being used in Europe and is quite reliable and do not replace the gearbox oil for live. If can what are the things required for this conversion? 4. Hissing sound from the speakers and when revs of engine go higher the sound comes louder. What is cause of other problem and what are the parts required to get rid of it? 5. How to take out the CD player? 6. What are the brands of the aftermarket that can be used for this car? Is there other connectors required for Aftermarket DVD players and at the same time having the CD exchanger at the back of the boot? Currently I have a JBL system which comes with the car. Wonder where the amplifier is and how to remove it. Can I install other amplifier? If possible is there other cables required for the aftermarket DVD players without cutting the original connectors? Please help, thanks Paul

My car peugeot 407,2006. why my car showing alarm of esp, sometimes prnd, sometimes meter and what is the solution?

Answers

We had the same issue, traced it back to the brake switch not being located correctly against the plate it presses off. Its located on the left hand side of he car under the dash. Green switch, unplug it then twist anti clockwise to remove it. Give it a spray with some contact cleaner or similar and work the mechanism a few times. Adjust the plunger to its maximum extended position and get someone to put there foot on the brake while you put it back in. You may need someone with a diagnostics tool to reset the MIL light on it, i can't remember if i had to or not as i have my own so it doesn't worry me Jamie from Australia

I have a peugeot 407,1.6L diesel,2007. The computer screen in blanc,it does,nt show anything. What could be the problem? I was told is the glass, but i think there is more to it,could you please help. Again, when CD player is playing,it frequently interfere with the radio, the radio station would just come on, What could be the problem please? Thanks and hoping to hear from you shortly. Anthony

Answers

Does your car have sat nav or it is older style displays, like 2004-2006? If so, it is a common problem due to heating issue. 2004-2006 displays can't handle heating, so if it is blank - it is impossible to fix, you need to replace it. If it is large, new model screen with sat nav, unfortunately I`m not sure then, but I would strongly suggest to take it off, check all connections first. Dew from Essex

Hi, I have a 407 2;0L GT HDI on a 57 plate. It is a nice car with all the toys built in. I had a problem with the individual climate control flaps not working. I had them fixed last year, it's quite a big job and they now work well. The problem I have now is I can`t get the air con. to blow ice cold air. I have had the gases done and it worked fine for that day. I also had it checked to make sure it wasn't leaking the gas and was told if it was leaking they would not have re gassed it. Long story short, can anyone tell me why it won't blow ice cold all of the time? Thanks in advance, A. MacDonald
