My Peugeot has been overheating for the last year and a half and cooling back, the problem started when the breather pipe from degassing bottle broke and it overheated to the red side and later broke the air conditioning pipe. Now it has started to overheat again. I took to a garage for service but nothing was detected. Can someone help please before anything mechanical happens?

Hi; has anyone ever had a problem with the sat nav only working intermittently? The disc is the correct version for the model, but on a lot of occasions when I try to load the information into the unit it keeps saying "Load disc" The map doesn't show up either when you press the "Nav" button. It is as if the unit isn't reading the disc for some reason. Can anyone shed any information as to the cause?

When I reverse the car with the steering wheel turned hard right the steering drags the front RHS tyre. It occurs when the car has nearly turned its ninety degrees. I can only describe it as a shuffling sensation to the front tryes. This occurs mainly when reversing. I had the tracking done and the rhs front camber is out .7 but I've been told cannot be adjusted to 0. Also garage says they cannot find any thing thats wrong. Any other ideas welcom.

Travelling home last night I suddenly lost power steering and a host of red lights flashed on (electrics warnings etc.). I managed to coast a hundred metres or so and turn into a lay by, switched the ignition off and the car would not restart. I am not mechanical (!) but looked under the bonnet and found that the fan belt had broken. Could this be the catalyst for the other happenings and a new fan belt will sort things or is it more sinister than that? It seems the repair will need to be done where the car is now, which is 25-30 miles from home. If at all possible it would be great if someone knows the answer to the above and let me know as soon as.

Hi. Can anyone help please? After changing a rear indicator bulb all the rear indicators have stopped working as well as the hazard lights. I have checked the bulbs and all ok, every fuse, all ok. Has anyone got any ideas please? Help, I`m pulling my hair out! Cheers.

Answers

There is a common problem with the rear lights and indicators caused by faulty connections at the connectors of each light assembly on 407's. The common earth pins have to carry more current and these may give up. An easy and effective solution is to run a separate wire from the common connection inside the light unit and bring it out to the earth stud nearby. Do this on both light units and you should be right. Trevor from New Zealand

I have a Peugeot 407 2.0 diesel 136 bhp executive 2004 and I have these problems, can anyone help me please? The engine starts ok but after about 5 miles driving it loses power, the rev counter shows 2000 revs only and when this problem happens it shows the engine on the dash. I already changed the fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator of the fuel railing (the top one) and in the dash sometimes shows low fuel pressure and I cleaned the particle filter and also cleaned the air flow meter. Now on the dash it is showing the spanner. Please can you tell me how to clear it from the dashboard? I did the full service already, thanks in advance

Hello Will, I have had my Peugeot 407 2.0 HDI for 7 years with 214K on the clock. I had a similar problem when it got near 100K going up Detling Hill.. The particle filter in the exhaust needs removing and cleaning. Also their is a particulate oil tank under the car to the rear of the passenger side. This oil tank runs out and needs to be refilled. A very good friend of mine who runs a garage looks after my car and sorted this for me. get it on the computer and check the fault code. It could also be the turbo. John from Kent

Hi. I have a 54 plate Peugeot 407 2.0 hdi and keep getting electronic antic theft faulty flashing on digital display when ignition is turned on and car won't start until a symbol with an X through it goes out. Has anyone any ideas what problem might be. Cheers.

Answers

There is a sensor near the steering wheel column that reads the information stored in the key. if you take the guts out of the key and open the car manually it will not recognise the key. If the battery is missing from the key but the guts are still in it, it will work. As a temp fix, hold the key on the top of the steering column before you place it in the ignition. This is not an uncommon problem. other Peugeots suffer from this. John from Kent

How long would this last for or is only a one time fix. I need to sell the car lol Dean Warburton from Lincolnshire

As far as I am aware it should work every time. The car send a new code to the key each time. The problem you have is that it should read it in the ignition but for some reason does not have the range. Like all these things its a dealer job. John from Kent

Tried that and still getting error message come up. Any other suggestion?? Dean Warburton from Lincolnshire

Hello, I hope you can help. I am looking to replace my key fob case on my spare key. The key is fine but I just need a new case as it no longer flips the key out the case. When I look online I can only find a case with a key which has said to be a bad idea due to my original at risk of not fitting the case. Also they have mentioned it`s very hard to get the key out the case (mine is easy due to the case and springs etc being broken), so my question is can anyone tell me where I can get just the key fob case, no blade (key) no circuit system or battery just the case? Many Thanks :)

We have owned our 407 Estate since 2008 and it has always been temperamental with regards to electrics but recently things gave got worse. When driving the car seems to shudder and lose power, as it's an automatic gearbox you can hear the gearbox change sound, at the same time warning messages come on the screen like faulty gearbox, de pollution system faulty, eps faulty. Today I couldn't get the heater to work, one light on the dashboard for the rear heater stayed on but the heater wasn't working. What I usually do when any of these faults appear is switch off the engine and when I turn the engine back on things return to normal again. Can anyone tell me what may be wrong as I had to stop and turn the engine off five times today.

I have looked on various forums for assistance,,HELP...Can anyone advise how I dis assemble the rear wiper assembly that goes through the glass section of the tailgate. This unit has seized completely, and i am terrified of breaking the glass. Thanks in anticipation

Answers

Roger. I accidentally broke the tailgate glass on mine and had to disassemble the wiper to fit it to the new glass. There is a single large nut that simply clamps the unit to the glass. Clean the grease out on both sides and you will see it. It is not a LH thread or anything stupid like that. You should be able to get a large socket in there. Hope this helps John from Kent
