Where is the negative terminal battery lead situated? I have located the live lead terminal but cannot find the negative lead.

Battery should be marked and being positive - being negative - Donald Utton from Kent
Had the same issue finding it. Look up the manual section for jumpstarting. They suggest you put the negative clamp onto a earthing screw on the frame on the floor of the engine bay. Tiny bugger it is, too, and hard to clamp to, but it worked fine once I got the clamp to hold. I hope I never need to get the battery out - haven’t worked that out yet! John from Australia

My Peugeot 308 SW seems to be losing power for a few seconds when changing gears and accelerating. Feels like the clutch is slipping but it has only done 30,000 miles. Could this be the problem? Any suggestions much appreciated.

When you drive does the RPM goes higher than usual? Like if you drive on the high way using the fifth gear, usually the RPM should be around 2500 and the speed 70 miles, if the RPM is higher then your clutch is going bad... Choukri Kayal from France

My Peugeot 308 SW’s front windshield wipers used to park vertically (90 degrees) correctly for snow/ice. Now they park halfway! What is the issue/problem - sensor, defect, ...? Thanks in advance.

The warning lights on my Peugeot 308 SW came on due to loss of clutch fluid. I was told by the dealer that it needs a new clutch slave cylinder and clutch. The car has full service history and only done 28,000 miles. Is this normal?

My rear seat belt warning started going off mysteriously yesterday about 20 mins after I set of. It was alerting me that the rear right seat belt was not fasterned even though the only people in the car were me and my daughter in her car seat (rear left). It has only stopped now that I have plugged in the seat belt for the empty seat. What should I do?

No answer, but I’ve got the same problem. I’ve even had the alarm go off intermittently for a seat that I’ve removed from the car, so I couldn’t buckle up to stop it. Grrrr... John from Australia
I have had the same intermittent problem for the last year. Despite repeated attempts by the Peugeot dealer, they haven’t been able to fix it. My own investigations lead me to my own theory - there is a sensor bar that runs underneath the middle row seats. There is a connector on the left side of the car (you’ll need to remove the middle-row seat and pull up the carpet to find it). This connector fits inside a foam spacer, which has a cutout for where the connector sits. However, in my car, the hole in spacer is mis-aligned with the connector location, which means the connector is under constant stress. For the moment, I’ve disconnected the connector, which stops the alarm going off in my ear. Since I’m still waiting for the dealer to do something about the problem I haven’t performed my suggestion - use a utility knife to cut a bit more foam out, so the connector can go back in and not be under stress. Let me know how you go! David from Australia
Hi, the same issue started In my 308SW this week and just like the previous post, the seat is removed from the car? Any ideas would be welcome! It’s driving me crazy! Andy from Cheshire

The car locks itself immediately when shutting drivers door and key is removed from ignition. Can anybody advice on how to disengage this? It’s dead annoying.

Re: Rear Parking assistance sensors (distributor fitted) 1. Where/how should the beeper be concealed? Surely not in view with exposed wiring held in place with velcro? 2. Am I correct in expecting the radion volume to decrease as the beeper gets louder? (SE Auto)
