What can I do to disengage or fix a faulty airbag in my Peugeot 307 Estate?

The electric windows on my Peugeot 307 Estate, particularly on the driver`s side, when open go fully down before going up, even with the switch in the up position. Sometimes they have difficulty going back up. They appear okay when it is raining. What’s happening? Thanks.

In ours the cable to the door switch module had come loose at the plug. My guess it was interfering the mutiplexing (that car is data-bussed... even for the windows!) causing erratic operation. Peugeot replaced 3 sets of switch units (for free!) to no avail. To fix this problem, I removed the trim from the door (a trim removal too, small screwdriver or spatula can help do this) cleaned and reseated the connector to the switch assembly (don’t blow in it - you fill the connector with moist spittle laden air! Use a can of contact cleaner!) and re-assembled everthing and... voila. No more problems. These cars are notorious for little electrical gremlins, my trawling online indicates that often the humble connector is at fault. Hope this helps! Ian from Australia

I have a beeping noise in the glove box which is setting of my ABS light which is saying the drivers side rear senser is broke now. I have all the parts around there replaced with brand new ones but the beeping hasn’t gone from the glove box. Any ideas?

We have suffered engine failure in our 307 due to a perforated metal tube, located in the air intake leading to the intake manifold, post filter, disintegrating. A large stainless section ended up in the engine and has damaged the head and two pistons. Can you tell me what this perforated tube may be, and if it’s removal and non-replacement will be a problem? The mechanics working on the car tell me that they have never seen one of these devices before.

My radiator fan wont switch off when I turn the engine off. Suspect its either the fan relay or the temperature sensor. Can anyone tell me where these are on a 2003 Peugeot 307 Estate in order that I can check them? (2.0 HDI 90)

I am having the same problem and it drains the battery - have you been having an anti-pollution fault on the display? It may well be that your DPF filter is blocked and therefore the car is not able to complete a regen of the system. If you look at http://www.peugeotforums.com/forums/307-38/307-hdi-cooling-fan-after-every-trip-20040/#post85704 You will see my story. I am currently cleaning said filter to see if it fixes the cooling fan problem. Good luck - Jonathan from Cheshire

Hi all, can anyone help? My wife locked the car at night but when she went back to the car in the morning the front headlights were on and the dash lights also? So I had to recharge the battery next day but when I re-connected the battery up all my back break lights came on and I wasn’t even in the car. When I locked the car up later that day with the fob my back break lights came on again but very dim, going to bright, then back to dim and off. Can anyone help?

Hi. My problem is finding rear brake discs for my Peugeot 307 Estate. The sizes of my discs are 245mm in diameter, 60mm high (through bearing housing), 25mm bearing centre. It has been suggested by suppliers that an axle from another vehicle may have been fitted at some point. Does anyone know what axles may be fitted so as to establish the parts required? (HDI 90)

Hi, I only appear to be doing around 22 miles per gallon in my Peugeot 307. Could I have a fuel leak? There is a strong smell of fuel when full, however when I only fuel up about £20 there is no fuel smell but it still only does around 72 miles to £20. Can anyone help?

The rear indicators on my 307 estate do not work. The front indicators are fine, could the problem be related to having recently gone through deep water and the trailer power point getting soaked? It now appears loose and fusty like a damaged alkaline battery.

Hi... I have just had a message from my garage that the lack of power in my car is due to "bottom end pressure". Could anyone tell me what causes this and what the solution is likely to be? (hdi)

On my Peugeot 307 Estate, the speedometer reading has changed to kilometers from miles - ie 120,000 miles to 180,000 kilometres. This will not be good for my next MOT. Does anybody know how I might switch it back?
Answers
You need to go into your onboard computer to the settings. It’s simple enough, just change it back to miles again - Dave from Essex

Hi, could you tell me whether the Peugot 307 Estate has 3 full passenger seats along the back or 2 full and a smaller one? I need to know for carseat (for my children) reasons. Many thanks!
Answers
2 full and and a narrow one in the middle (bit of a squash for an adult between 2 child-seats, but not impossible), depending on size of adult. However, there is an option of installing an extra row of seats (for kids rather than adults) in the boot space. If not available on the model/example you’re looking at, you can get them second-hand on ebay etc. You will obviously need to check the upholstery matches - Roger Parker from Kent

What drives the speedometer? Mine is not working...
Answers
Their is a sensor on the top of the diff housing with a couple of wires via a plug to your wiring loom. This in turn goes to your speedo via the computer. If you think you have a problem, take it for a diagnosis at a garage - don’t mess around with it unless you can see a cut in the wiring or physically broken - Andy from Hampshire
