Hi. My Peugeot 307 CC`s button that operates all 4 windows simultaneously (cental console) isn’t working and I just wanted to ask if anyone knows how to fix it to save me a trip to the garage? The roof button still works and I’ve noticed that it makes a click when pressed up or down - the window button doesn’t make this click so my gut instinct is that a connection has come loose and it will hopefully be easy to fix, when I figure out how to open the console. Can anyone help please? Thanks. (Allure)

The roof button is working and makes a click when pressed. However, the button that operates all four windows does not click. I am wondering if a connection has come loose or slipped off? My Peugeot 307 CC`s rear left side light and rear left hand number plate light are both not working. The right rear side and plate lights work normally. I removed the number plate light and found it was blown but the replacement does not light. This suggests to me that both the rear left side light and left hand rear number plate lights are fed from the same fuse. However, I cannot find a reference to which fuse feeds any of the rear lights on the 307cc in the manual or online? Can anyone help?

A droning or humming noise has developed from the rear of my Peugeot 307 CC that gets louder and higher-pitched with speed. I’ve swapped the tyres front to rear to check uneven wear but there is no difference. I cannot feel any play in the bearings with the rear wheels in the air on a jack. Mileage is 38000. Any ideas? (180)

Answers

This does sound like wheel bearing issues. Although there’s no play, you should spin the wheels and listen carefully for noise. The only noise you should hear is the noise from the brakes gently rubbing and nothing else. Good luck! Sal from London

I had the same noise coming from the back of my 307 cc and it was the brake disc worn and the pads needed changing. Have a look at the discs to see if they are badly grooved and if there is plenty of pad. Hope this helps - Terry from Durham

Please help... A fuse keeps on blowing and I’ve been told it’s the fuel pump... I replaced the fuse and it’s OK for a month or two... Does this mean that the fuel tank is needing cleaned out with an additive or that the fuel pump is ready to go? It’s a Peugeot 307 CC 2-litre petrol 06 plate.

Answers

If the fuel pump fuse blows, this tells you the in tank pump is faulty, drawing too much from that relevant fuse. Another possibilities are wiring issues but, fuel pump is the more obvious choice - Sal from England

Usually for every pump which located inside the tank, there should be a filter to prevent debris from going inside the pump. I think you have to clean this filter or better change it, if you find a new one because a blocked filter will cause it to damage the pump eventually - Choukri Kayal from France

Hi, my 307cc has developed a fault whereby the driver’s door window does not drop when opening the door and has to be pushed down that inch to shut it. The driver’s window button has to be practically stood on to open in, the passenger window will open from the driver’s side but won’t shut and the middle console button doesn’t work at all. Added to which I’ve had depollution fault intermittently for the past year.... apart from all that, it’s fine.... oh, not it’s not, both roof seals above the doors leak when it rains. I’m loving it still though. Any ideas anyone? Thanks! (2.0 cc)

On the warning dash, a spanner, it looks like a bar with a aware at the top, has come on with a mileage figure along side. This figure keeps going up, I presume I have missed something. (2-litre auto)

Answers

Hi, it is past its required date for a service. It counts down then if you don’t have it serviced, the mileage goes up to tell you it’s due. My spanner is there, it was due a service a few hundred miles back so I need to get it booked in. Hope this helps - Jackie Allen from Norfolk

To save you money, put the key in the ignition but don’t switch it on. Push the black stork that sticks out of your clocks. Hold it in and then switch on the ignition, keep it pushed in and you will see the numbers change and the spanner will go out - Terry from Durham

I have just bought one as well & mine don’t work if I have them. My sis in law has one & hers are activated when she puts car in reverse gear she gets a bleep which steadily gets faster the nearer to the object she gets. I’m gonna take mine back to where I bought it from to make sure they are active - Cath M from Lancashire

Hi, my wife has a 307cc and apparently all of them have what seems to be rear parking sensors, however in most cases, they are blanking plates with no actual sensors connected. Peugeot adapted the rear bumpers of the 307cc so that the dealers had an easier job to retro fit parking sensors due to the roof mechanism, I have just eBayed a £15 set of sensors and DIY’d, real easy and work just as well as the factory ones - Darryl Wilson-Cope from England

Yes they are supplied with the blank plates as standard (look like sensors but aren’t). Peugeot told me they cost about £100 to have fitted so I’d fit them yourself if you can, or live without! Nina from England

When driving the other day, the ’CENTRAL STOP’ light appeared and the warning light ’oil pressure low’, yet there is enough oil in the engine, and the oil temperature indicator is normal. Sometimes the light goes out and then on again. What could the problem be?

Answers

Hi there, I had exactly the same problem six months ago. I have a 2006 Peugeot 307CC 2.0i Auto, I had only recently bought it so took it back to the dealer and demanded it was looked at by Peugeot. The fault was not the oil pressure, it was a faulty sensor within the automatic gearbox that controls the pressure within the box and when the car changes gears. It had to be replaced at around £400, by this was by Peugeot so if you have a reputable garage it could probably be done for less. Hope this helps - C Butcher from Dorset

Answers

I have exactly the same problem, started last night! Help someone? I don’t have a handbook :( - Sharn from England

Assuming it is the central warning stop light, the book states: "This light comes on each time the ignition is started. It is linked to the engine oil pressure, coolant level low, brake fluid level & electronic brake force distribution fault warning lights and the coolant temperature & engine oil temperature gauges. Stop immediately if it flashes with the engine running and contact a Peugeot dealer." That’s the book’s advice so if not flashing, I would check your levels for all of the above and if not sure, take it to a garage. Hope it helps a bit - John Kennedy from Renfrewshire

Sounds like the pipe is leaking, that controls the heater position or the control is stuck. The damp smell you describe is caused when the re-circulate is selected on the air con contol. It is not designed to recirculate cabin air for more than 15 mins at a time and as a result, you get a build up of fungal spores. Normally, we stick in an ’air-con bomb’ that cleans the system. There are various makes of air-con bombs on the market and any good motor factors or car dealer parts departments sell them. They are all much of the same and an air-con bomb will cost you about £12 a can. What you do is start the car engine, put the air con on and the fan on full blast. Make sure the heater is set to cold and the recirculation function is activated. The vents want to be open and air blowing out of the vents. Take the cap off the air con bomb and put at the back of the front seat. Push down the top of the can firmly to activate the bomb. The contents should start spraying out of the can. Close the doors and make sure the windows are up. In about 10 minutes the contents of the can should of gone round the air con system and killed any bugs and freshened it making it all smell nice. After that, run the system for a further 10 minutes but on hot to dry out the air con ducting - Andy from Hampshire

I have a 307 CC. After skidding on wet grass, the ABS/ESP light comes on intermittently. I have been to a garage who put it on the diagnostic computer which gave a reading of ’5384 ESP control constant intervention brakes system not under pressure’. It is going in for MOT on the 4th. Does anyone know what this reading means as I don’t want to be ripped off by them telling me something different. Many thanks.

What does it mean when esp, abs and then tiptronic gear box are all saying "needs repair"?

Answers

Hi. Been there had that problem. It will cost you or you could just live with it until you let the car go to someone else. Main dealers say that it’s a fault (electrical) but they will not fix it. They had the car for weeks and still it did the same. They cleared all the fault codes and ran the car good for 2 - 3 weeks and every now and then she will do the same thing. So all we do now is stop car turn everything off and switch it back on again. It can go weeks without showing a fault light. This has to be a fault in this car as everyone that has, or has had one, has had the same problems. Good luck Alan Gilhooley from Ireland

Hi, I own a Peugeot 307CC 2006 with 20,000 miles but one day I was driving and it lost the acceleration even though the engine stays running and the engine malfunction fault pops up. Lately it’s has been doing it all the time. I have spent over £1,000 in Peugeot dealers/garage to fix it and it drives well for a couple of weeks and after that the same problem occurs. Even Peugeot themselves say they do not what the problem is. Can someone help?

Answers

Hi, sorry I don’t have an answer for you, but I am having exactly the same issue since December. I have less than 30,000 miles and the car has had absolutely no issues until now. The accelerator jolts the whole car intermittently (with the car only allowing a drive up to about 1500 revs) with the malfunction signal flashing up. Peugeout said I needed a new accelerator, only after 3 hours of it being driven, it happened again. I took it back and was told it wasn’t properly callabrated to the computer, but went again today within 2 hours. I would be interested to know what you have had done to yours? I’m going to try another dealer, but I’m worried that it needs a new computer which costs about £1k and may not resolve the issue. Frustrating that this is a software issue and nothing mechanical! - Anna Branco from London

I had the same thing low power when you hard accelerate spent £300 2/3 months later the same then I took it to a back street garage. They changed the fuel filter that apparently had not been changed for a while, even though it had been serviced. Not looked back since, runs very well - Ray Burke from England

My front seat belts have frayed to the extent where the driver’s one is split in two and the passenger belt is on the way. They have both ripped in the very same place, right at the point where they disappear into the recoil system on the piller behind your shoulder. My local dealer said it has never happened before so would take no responsibility. It is a 2005 Peugeot 307 CC. If any one has ever come across this problem before could they please please let me know?

Is this answer correct and have been searching web for details (I’m no expert but have the same fault....), depollution system fault seems to relate to emissions rather than air con / ventilation system from what I’ve read... - as mentioned I’m no expert so apologies Danny if I’m wrong ;) Jon from Bedfordshire

ABS keeps coming up. What is it?

Answers

It’s possible it’s just a sensor in one of the wheel hubs, or worst case it would be the ABS pump but I would have it checked at local garage and Peugoet as Peugoet have a problem of lying about faults to make more money out of you. Trust me I know - Nathan Sweeney from Lancashire

My car has done the same as yours. I left mine to get the ABS pump tested and the wires going to ABS pump had wore. They make the wires too short, that is the fault - Jason Craig from Northern Ireland

Hey , I have a Peugeot 307CC. For a few weeks now sometimes, once or twice a day, I get two warnings for ABS and EPS. When I switch off the car and start it again, everything is OK for the next few km! I took the car for a service and they said that everything is OK but the problem is still the same. What should I do? If I go for an official service here in Cyprus they will ask for more the 1000 euros to fix!

Answers

Had the same problem with ours. Noticed that the wheel arch cover (inside the top of the wheel arch) was in the wrong position/loose on one side. The wheel sensors for ESP etc have a connector just behind this. I suspect the connector was being hit by the loose cover and/or getting wet because not covered. Slotting the cover back in to place seems to have helped, it had the problem 10 or so times before and not since. If I’d had more time I’d have separated the connector and loaded it with some vaseline to keep water out. Try this and see, hope it helps - Jon from Rhondda Cynon Taff
