The rear door of my Peugeot 207 SW is permanently locked. The other four doors will not lock with the key fob, but when I am in the car I can lock all doors by pressing the door lock button on the dashboard. The automatic locking as you drive off does not work either. I think that this is going to be a very expensive problem to put right and would welcome any advice please. Can anyone help?

The computer of my Peugot 207 SW shows a key symbol followed by arrows and then a car symbol followed by arrows. Also 6,241 miles has appeared where my mpg should be and the car does not automatically lock when I pull away. Please could you advise what this problem could be as the computer will not reset?

I bought my Peugeot 207 SW 6 weeks ago and it’s making a rattling noise when turning left or right and on bumpy roads. I think it’s coming from either the boot or tailgate glass. Is this a common fault and does anyone have any idea how to fix it?

My Peugeot 207 SW is flashing "faulty antipollution". What shall I do..?

Answers

Please be careful! This warning flashed on while I was doing 60mph on the motorway, I rapidly lost power and the steering stiffened. I was able to drift onto the hard shoulder from the middle lane without incident only because it was 1am in the morning. I took it in to local main dealer who told me they had replaced a filter, which one I’m not sure as they kept the paperwork as it is a lease car. The same thing happened at 10pm last night and I was almost hit as I went over a major, fast roundabout. This time the car lost power more quickly and had it been rush hour, I would have caused a serious accident. There have been no warning noises or change in handling preceeding the event. The dealer said the anti- pollution light comes on for anything engine-related. I’m now scared to take the car out on any main roads and don’t have confidence that the dealer will sort this out. Looking at other websites, it seems that this is not an unusual problem - Fi from Kent

A similar thing happened to me as I was doing 70mph on the motorway. I took it to my Peugeot dealer. They said that this is a manufacturer fault but that Peugeot hadn’t recalled because they didn’t consider it a safety risk! The dealer sorted it FOC whilst they were servicing and it has not reoccurred. I would advise you to pop along to your dealer and have a chat with them about it. Hope that helps - Hazel W from Norfolk

My Peugeot 207 SW’s wing mirrors do not fold in when I am parked up. Is this a fault or that some Peugeot’s just don’t do this. Also, how easy is it to fit parking sensors?

Answers

I didn’t think mine folded in either, as there was no obvious movement. They do fold in with a very sharp, hard whack, they haven’t become any easier to fold in over time! - Fi from Kent

My 207 SW has a drip coming from a plastic cover area just in front of the rear offside wheel, it appears oily but isn’t and has a sticky feel to it, anyone any ideas?

Answers

This will be your eolys fluid resevoir leaking. It’s a fluid that is injected to the fuel system to reduce emissions. The unit was described to me as a bladder in a box (think wine box). They are designed to last for around 80,000 miles before a dealer refill. Unfortunately they can rupture, leaking the orange fluid out by the o/s rear wheel. Mine was just in warranty, worth contacting the dealer as it’s a known fault - Andy from Suffolk

Screen washer pump not working - fuse in book says it is inside the car fuse 14 - all ok - took pump out - pump ok - will it be the switch or is there a relay that can be checked first as the switch is all the wipers, screen wash, indication etc. which means loads of dosh?

They stopped washing on mine. It was the fuse inside the car, not sure which one now, use a meter and check them all - Julian Ashby from Somerset

How can I turn the flashing RDS symbol off on my radio?

Answers

Hi kath, I have just purchased the 207 on a 08 plate. My rds was flashing too, but I sorted it. If you go into your menu, press the down arrow key until radio/cd comes up, press ok, and look for the rds search, is will probably say active, you need to put this to inactive, and it should stop it flashing - Andy Smith from Shropshire

My car makes a whirring noise as it starts. I have been told it is the fuel pump making the noise and not a problem - is this correct?

Answers

Hi, you will get a whirring noise (which is the fuel pump pressurizing) initially when you turn the ignition on then it normally goes quiet. However, if the whirring continues and gets faster when you rev the engine it could be timing/alternator belt noise, but without hearing it myself I can’t say it is actually that. Take it to a garage and let them listen to it, it won’t cost you anything at this point - Andy from Hampshire
