Peugeot 206 SW 2003

Good day. I have a 206 SW dhi 2.0 2003. A few days ago, after a vacation of 2 weeks, I have started the car and the heater blower will not stop. It will not respond to the +/- control and the OFF button. Once I press the OFF the display will turn off, but not the blower. I have located the blower engine under the dash and it has 2 separate plugs with I think 5 cables each. After doing some research, I have found that the speed control unit is part of the motor. Can someone confirm that? I am trying to remove the engine, but the space is limited. Next I am thinking to remove the entire dash so I could have the access. Part of this is to remove the steering column, but I would like to know if by removing the cables feeding the air bag, this would not trigger the airbag. I am trying to save about 600 Euro and I can not afford another £1,000 for a new airbag. I would appreciate your help.

Please help! I have had an alternator fitted on my Peugeot 206 SW but still only get 8.4 volts output which will not charge the battery unless we do a bit of fancy wiring to the fuse / control box which then involves running the car with the front fog lights and side lights on Constantinople. In this state everything seems to work normal what else could be wrong? (1.4hdi)

I had a squealing noise coming from the clutch on my Peugeot 206 SW for the last 3 days, then suddenly something popped and now I have no clutch and cannot change gear. Can anyone tell me what has likely happened and what I should do now?

Answers

Hiya - the same thing happened with my 206 SW in August this year. It turned out that the thrust bearing on the clutch was knackered and had friction-welded itself onto the nosepiece. I had to get this repaired at a garage by getting the affected parts replaced which wasn’t cheap but it’s been running fine ever since. Hope that helps - Mark I from Lanarkshire

I bought a Peugeot 206 SW 4 months ago, fully serviced. It’s been backwards and forwards to the seller as there’s a loud squeak coming from the front passenger wheel. They say there’s nothing wrong but it persists- any ideas? Also the oil warning light has come on and I’ve only done 3,000 miles. I expected it to go to the next service before a top up as was usual with my previous car as it’s only 3 years old. The last car was 7 years old and never needed a top up? (1.4)

I have had starting problems on my Peugeot 206 SW for months now. I cannot start my car when the air bag light comes up and I have to wait hours sometimes or few minutes until the engine diag light comes on and then it starts. At first we thought was to do with the hot weather but it has continued. The car has had the camshaft sensor replaced and the garage I took it too thought it was something he could bypass, It didn’t work so he sent ECU to be reprogrammed. Seemed to have worked for a week or so, but now it’s back to not starting properly! Any idea anyone? I’m now at the point where I have spent a lot of money on it, trying to get it right, but it still is not.

Hello, I have a 1.4-litre Peugeot 206 SW and when I try to start it up in the morning it makes a pinging noise. I try again and it will start but it sounds as though it’s running on three cylinders or missing. I rev it and it splutters for about 10-15 seconds but once this is over it runs fine (clock has to be reset) and starts first time with no problems until the following morning... Any ideas?
