Hi guys, I have a small problem with my 1007 1.6 16v Sport 55 reg :( Ever since we had the heavy snow fall and cold weather, my car seems have high revs. When I first start the car in the morning the car revs at 2,000 rpm. When the car warms up the revs drop to 1,500 rpm, still high though, she should be at 900 - 1,000 rpm. I suspect it could be the Coolant Temperature Sensor. Do any of you know where the Coolant Temperature Sensor might be situated on the engine?

Hi, we are having problems with our 1007. Every now and then the car won’t start but makes a clicking sound from the engine bay. We have had it to the Peugeot dealer but they don’t know what it is. Could it be the crankshaft sensor relay?

Answers

If it click and did not start, it means there is something wrong with the starter, either the cables are loose, or the starter itself - Choukri Kayal from France

Hi everyone, I have a problem closing the driver’s side door of my Peugeot 1007. Each time I tried to open it with the key it made some beep and show some sign on the screen that the left side door has fault. The same message appears when I am in the car and I tried to close the door with door switch and finally when I close it manually it does not close properly. I have been to some workshop where they did some diagnostic on the car and they advise to buy a new sensor, could this be the solution? PLEASE HELP!!

Answers

Hi, have you tried resetting the doors? Earlier article refers you need to turn on the ignition not start the engine. Manually open the doors and then reclose. This may help. Also make sure all contacts are clean, and do not have any build up on metal surfaces. The sensors are expensive and I hope you don’t need them. I guess your problem is just on the driver door. If the passenger door becomes a prob it could be the micro switch on the petrol filler cover. Just opening and closing it can sort it. Good luck - Ralph Roberts from England

Answers

A small bit of black plastic has fallen out of your key fob. This is the transponder chip that is needed to start the car (and they are expensive to replace). It should be located inside the plastic key fob casing, on the bottom part at the front - Matthew Garrett from England

Does anyone know if there is any gadget to bring the seat belts forward to a) make it easier to grab it and b) to stop it cutting into my neck?

Answers

Halfords offer a device called a ’Car Seatbelt Stopper’ for £9.99. You clip it over the sea belt and it stops the belt from going all the way back when you take it off. When you put the belt back on, it gives you a small amount of slack so it does not cut your neck - Paul Jessup from Kent

I am considering buying a 1007 - should I? I need an automatic and something with easy access both for myself and my dogs. How easy is it to climb into the back and is there plenty of "boot room". I have not viewed one as yet - they are not for sale on garage forecourts very often!

Answers

Whatever you do, don’t buy a 1007 they are known for electric door issues plus the doors close too quickly and catch you entering and leaving the car. Next to impossible to sell. Don’t, just don’t - Jock Jock from East Lothian (Haddingtonshire)

I think you have a persecution against your car. Why can’t you get out of the car and then shut it with your remote? - Frank Nuttall from England

Why don’t you take it to Peugeot? I’m sure they will sort it out for you - Frank Nuttall from England

Just purchased one recently. A cracking little car, the auto doors are a great idea all controlled by the car key fob. Very spacy inside with great headroom and a good boot size too. It’s also very handy when parking as you can park in spaces no other car can fit into due to the sliding doors. Very handy and very easy to drive - Robeirt Ni Rouairc from Ireland

My passenger door is not working from either remote or in-car switch. When I press either I get 3 beeps and that is it. No warning message on dash, and when I close manually it does not grip and pull the door in so it is flush with the outside. When I lock remotely, the door will not open but you can see that it is not completely closed. Any help appreciated.

Answers

Check the silver keys that touch each other when the door closes, if they are blackened take a nail file (emery board) file away the marks... turn off the engine and take out the key manually close the door (this resets the doors, then open using the key). If this doesn’t work you may be able to get the door looked at. I had a similar problem and even though it was out of warranty, Peugeot took it and fixed the door as it was a known problem. Do call their head office though as they will need to give the go ahead for this to be done with no cost to yourself - Hope this helps - Sharon Forster from England

There is a solanoid plunger that opperates the lock. This becomes slightly bent as it’s only plastic. It’s not expensive and quite easy to fit: remove door trim to reveal plunger. Hope this of use to you - Rick Tanner from Monmouthshire

The near-side door not operating off button or key fob. Is there a reset button?

Answers

Hi! To reset the door you have to start the engine, then open and close door fully manually, then swich engine off. If this does not work it will probably need a new acctuator fitting inside door panel as mine did costing approx £124 - Kenneth Fillingham from Norfolk
