When I turn on the car and it is cold the motor fan starts working and the blue light on the the dashboard is on.
Ghassan Mansour, Lebanon

Nissan Micra 2004

I have a problem with my Nissan Micra 2004. When I turn on the car and it is cold the motor fan starts working and the blue light on the the dashboard is on. The overdrive light starts flashing when running, the vitesse hits when changing the gear level and the rpm stops working. When turning the car off it won`t turn on again. I went to an electrical technician and he changed the fuse in the box placed behind the left headlight but the problem wasn`t solved. Please can anybody tell me what the fault could be to help solve my problem? Thanks.

My Nissan Micra 1.4 2005 has 129,000 km’s currently. It started cutting out when idling, has mis-fired twice and is jerking whilst driving. I had a diagnostic test done whereby I was advised the problem is the throttle body, I took it to another garage who did another two diagnostic tests and this time it showed no errors at all. I have subsequently done a major service on the car yet am still experiencing the same problem. Please can anybody advise me?

The boot of our Nissan Micra is locked. It sometimes releases whilst we are driving...
Barbara Whybrew, Durham

Nissan Micra 2003

The boot of our Nissan Micra is locked. It sometimes releases whilst we are driving and a notice on the dashboard tells us that the tailgate is open. Yet once we have shut it again it stays locked. The battery is draining down if unused for a few days. We have only recently replaced the battery and the car has been regularly serviced by a Nissan dealer. We have now become very wary of putting anything in the boot, as we`re unsure whether we will be able to get it open again. Can anybody advise what might be wrong? (1.4 SVE)

Nissan Micra 2000

Hi. Please can anyone help me with regards to my 2000 998 engine Nissan Micra? During the last few months it`s power is reducing dramatically. Going uphill is a struggle and an embarrassment for myself and cars behind me. There is no va va voom anymore in the engine and driving is an issue with the speed. As soon as I get to change to fourth gear I have to drop back down to third. There feels to be a dragging sensation with the car as if something is stopping it from going. I`ve had plugs changed and the air filter and I`ve used the redex treatment. Can anyone help me please? Thanks.

My Nissan Micra has been cutting out when I slow down or change to a lower gear.
Laura Sullivan, Gloucestershire

Nissan Micra 2004

My Nissan Micra has been cutting out when I slow down or change to a lower gear. Normally I can just restart it, but it happened while I was driving 30mph in third gear on a roundabout and I’m nervous about driving it now. There is no warning, just revs drop and it starts slowing down. Any suggestions what the problem is?

Answers

Hi Laura. I have a 2004 Micra 1.2 S and experienced the same problem. Mine was cutting out at junctions and roundabouts - as you take your foot off of the accelerator and declutch right? Well I had mine serviced which made no difference. After doing some research I found that a common problem with the Micra is the Throttle Body. This sits between the air intake and the engine and acts as a kind of carburettor - mixing the fuel and air before entering the engine. Anyway had the throttle body changed, which contains the mass flow meter and sensors and the problem has gone, no stalling, smooth running and good performance. My problem now is that the diagnostic light is on and my fuel consumption is attrocious. Needs something else I think! Be aware though the throttle body solved my problem but this is not a cheap option - cost me around £350!! Do look also at engine coolant sensor and coil packs but I would lay money on it being the throttle body. Hope this helps! Derek Mansell from Norfolk

I bought a 2004 Nissan Micra and the battery goes flat overnight for no reason. I called a mechanic, changed the battery for brand new and it happened again three weeks later. I called a mechanic again, he charged it and could find no reason for the battery to drain. Is there a fault with my immobiliser or radio which may be doing this? My Nissan Micra has a headlights problem.
Mike, Surrey

Nissan Micra 1993

My Nissan Micra has a headlights problem. I was driving during the daytime and thought I heard a slight "sizzling" sound, but thought nothing more of it (it may be nothing to do with problem). Later when I came to drive home in the evening I found that only one headlight worked, (driver`s side) and neither of the parking lights (first notch on the stalk). I changed the bulbs and still find I have the same problem. I checked the fuses under the bonnet but all seems okay. Are there any other fuses it could be? I couldn`t quite work out if maybe there are some fuses that are relevant in the box under the steering wheel to the right side? So in short I only have one main beam on the driver`s side and the rest don`t work. Can anyone help me? (1.0 16v)

Answers

Sounds like light swich gone wrong, common fault - Anthony Ward from England

@Anthony Ward Here’s what happened to me, so people can learn from my "mistakes". All of sudden I found that I ONLY had 1 main beam and NO dip beams. All other lights worked fine. So, I assumed, wrongly, it was the bulbs and went got 2 bulbs and replaced them. Was quite fiddly job. That did NOT fix problem. I then found the FUSE BOX near to the battery and under the bonnet!!!. 1 of the 2 connectors, on 1 of the fuses, in that fuse box was half length other one was. So I replaced that fuse with new one. Still did NOT fix problem. So I bought a column switch (the one on the steering wheel switches lights on) . Fitted it but that did NOT work. THEN I checked the way I had REconnected the socket at the back of one of the headlights after I changed the bulb. I THEN found I had NOT fitted it back correctly and it FIXED (yippee) the problem! So long and short, all along the problem had been the FUSE in the Fuse Box that is near to the Battery Under the Bonnet!! I now have the Column Switch listed on Ebay in case anyone needs one!! Any time I press the brake, even when the engine is off, the front and back lights come on...
Charles Bruce, Ireland

Nissan Micra 1996

I have been driving a 1996 Nissan March for the past 16 months and it`s due for a National Car Test (roadworthiness test). Any time I press the brake, even when the engine is off, the front and back lights come on. I thought it was not an issue as the car still drives great. A mechanic pointed this out to me and said I should either have it checked out by an auto electrician or just send it for the test and see how it goes. Does anyone think it might fail the test if I do nothing about it? (Nissan March Automatic)

Answers

Hi, on a Micra, brake lights work with ignition on or off, in other words all the time your foot is on the brake pedal. The second part of the question, front lights come on when pressing brake pedal is caused by the wrong lamp (bulb) being fitted as a brake lamp. A single type lamp has been fitted eg 21 watt. A stop and tail lamp should be fitted, eg,5w / 21 watt lamp. This lamp also has offset location pins on the side of the lamp, thanks - Phil Inge from England

I would say the problem could be an earthing fault. The brake lights are "live" on most Nissans when the ignition is switched off. Hope you get the problem sorted - Keith Derham from County Tyrone

My Nissan Micra engine management light came on and stays lit at all times.
Gabriela Briazu, England

Nissan Micra 2001

My Nissan Micra`s engine management light came on and stays lit at all times. Is this an urgent thing to address to a garage? It seems that the fuel consumption is quite high (about 38 miles/gallon ) and it`s losing power when going uphill. What could be the cause of this? I`ve had this car since last September and only started driving it about a month ago. How much should I worry about this management light? I have no clue about mechanics. Can anyone please help? Thank you. (automatic)

I have a problem with my Nissan Micra. For the past 3/4 weeks it started with the car just cutting out, now it`s not only cutting out but the car pulls back and the rev fluctuates a great deal. Also when I put my foot on the clutch there`s nothing, when I take my foot off the clutch it rattles like mad. Mine is an M reg 16 value twin cam. We have put new sparks in and used redx to clean the system. My other half has tried everything and now we don’t know what else to do. Can anyone help?

My Micra is an 02 and also does this. I took it to the garage last year when it first started doing this and they couldn’t find anything wrong with it so they just reset something or other and it was fine up until the weather got colder and now it’s started doing it again! I’d appreciate some help on this too! Lindsey Brown from England

I think the cutting out problem on junctions in early k11 Micra is more than likely the throttle body which is a common issue on these models. A second hand throttle body would cost about 40-50. However I would suggest getting it checked by someone who knows about Nissan - A Baba from England

The windscreen wipers and headlights on my Nissan Micra stopped working, so the garage looked at the fusebox (had to remove the front bumper) and said that the box, which contained about 5 fuses, was corroded and needed replacing. The car was then fine and I did two very short journeys, but then the following day it wouldn’t start at all. The lights still come on so I’m guessing it`s not the battery. Someone said it could be the starter motor. What’s it likely to be and could this have been caused by what the garage did?

I have a 2006 Nissan Micra. There was a (charge-free) precautionary safety recall some months ago - something to do with ignition / relay system. I arranged to have the relevant job done and had the required part(s) changed by a Nissan dealer. Recently while some distance from home, my Micra would not start - a clicking sound occurred that seemed to come from the glovebox area when trying to turn the engine. I got a push-start but then experienced difficulty on the way home - the car seemed to accelerate / decelerate of it`s own accord, but more seriously, the steering temporarily locked while I was turning a corner. The ABS light was continuously "on" on the dashboard. Luckily no accident occurred. I brought the car to the dealer who had carried out the "recall job" - he replaced the battery and said that that was the only problem. I’m a bit suspicious that the orignal job wasn’t carried out. My question is : can a dead or faulty battery cause the dangerous symptoms I experienced? On many previous occasions in my driving experience whenever I had to get a push-start due to battery problems, I never experienced similar problems as described above. Does anyone know the answer please?

So my Nissan Micra is turning off when I stop, not all of the time, but usually when I can’t ease into a stop. By ease I mean slow right down for a good bit before fully stopping, I’m not speeding then doing emergency stops. It shudders when it does this and it’s like stalling in a manual car when you haven’t switched into first before stopping. Also, the check engine light and check oil light are lit up when this happens, but disappear when I restart the car. I’ve just had the car serviced yesterday (after which this all started) so the oil is fine and as far as I know, so’s the engine. There are also some strange noises, like taking a corner and the engine sounds really strained, well I think it’s the engine. I have no idea about cars, but it seems my mechanic, soon to be ex-mechanic, doesn’t either. I’m terrified to drive it. Please can anyone help? (Auto S)

I have a 2007 Nissan Micra cdi. I rotated the front and rear tyres on the right hand side of the car one afternoon. On my way home on the highway the handbrake and ABS warning lights illuminated. I have since tested and found the following conditions. The lights clear when I switch the ignition off and on, even with the car rolling. The error is not evident when driving in town, but only occurs when the speed goes above 110kph (every time). It then remains till I switch the ignition off and on again. If the lights aren’t on, the ABS works and when the lights are on it doesn’t work (tested on a wet road with hard braking). No work was done on the vehicle other than swopping the tyres around. Some people on this site suggest a faulty ABS unit, but why only at high speed and why such a specific speed? (1.5 dci)

I recently bought a Nissan Micra SE 2000 Automatic from a garage and have been having speed issues. It just doesn’t want to go anywhere. Pulling out of side roads is a real problem, you put your foot right down and it hardly moves. On the motorway it struggles to get past 40 and when it does eventually go up it shoots off extremely fast. I also know the speedometer is not working properly, it doesn’t say the right speed. I can be doing about 30-40 and it reads 70. I have taken it back to the garage where I bought it but they are not interested. I have also had other people drive it and they have said the same, so any solutions would be appreciated. Can anyone help? Many thanks. (SE)

Get someone to remove the air fillter box, you will then be looking at looks like the carburetta, it’s not it’s the choke body on the left side as you look at it there is a plug remove the plug you will then have obtain a five point anti tamper star bit the normal star bits will not do as they have six points also on ebay for about £10 a set. Hi there, I also have Nissan Micra K12 2003 model. In 1 year I have replaced 2 new batteries. They kept draining. The car would be running as normal and when parked up, next day it would not start up. The only way I can get the car stared up would by using a booster or "jump start." This is tedious way to start my car. Anyway I queried about this problem: it is a manufacturing fault with 2003 K12 models. I am advised that I should take the car to a local Nissan dealer to have the BCM re-programmed on low voltage. I have booked the car in for this. It is 1/2 hour job and the cost will be £45 inc vat. I am hoping this will solve my battery drainage problem. Kind regards - Hope from England

When pulling the bonnet release lever in my Nissan Micra it is not releasing the bonnet at all. Can I remove the grill to get to the release on the bonnet itself? (W reg)

Answers

I had this problem. Try getting a friend to pull up the bonnet a little at the same time as you pull the inside lever. This should raise the bonnet enough to get hold of the outside lever and slide it along. After a few times of this coordinated action the problem resolved itself - Catherine from England

I have a 53 plate Nissan Micra automatic. The windscreen wipers have a mind of their own. Even though they are switched off they keep going, except when the right or left indicator switch is used. They stay off while the indicators are operating, then come on again when the indicators are turned off, but not always. They are usually worse in damp weather, but I can be driving along on a hot sunny day and they take a few swipes of their own accord. They work normally when actually turned on. Sometimes they come on and stay on for half an hour or more, other times they don’t do it at all. If I want them to do it to show someone they don’t do it, but then start doing it again at random. Any ideas?

I’ve had this problem with my Nissan Micra. I took it into Nissan and they told me it was water damage and that I needed a new Steering Column. They charged £350 but it seemed to fix the problem. The car seems to have several electrical problems so it may not have been water damage at all. I am trying to find a car seat that will fit in the back of my Nissan Micra, but when I went to 3 different seat fitters they all told me that the main belt is too short and the clasp that the belt clicks into is too long. I was advised to buy a base, but they don’t fit either due to the clasp section being too long. I have phoned numerous garages as I have been advised by Britax to get my seat belts changed or altered, but noone has heard of this problem before. Is there anything I can do to resolve this? Thanks in advance.

I’m sure that you have sorted this by now, but just in case. I have a Nissan Celebration (2000), and had trouble finding a front facing car seat too, and was told it was something to do with where the seatbelts or the clasps are sited. I found a Mamas & Papas model which fitted well. I could not find an ISOfix seat that fitted despite the ISOfix attachments being in the car. However, I was looking 6 years or so ago, so things may have changed now. Good luck - Sarah from England

I have been having problems with the boot not opening at all and then all of a sudden the boot will open automatically when I am driving or when I turn off the ignition.
Abigail, England

Nissan Micra 2007

I bought a Nissan Micra from a Nissan dealership 2 months ago. I have been having problems with the boot not opening at all and then all of a sudden the boot will open automatically when I am driving or when I turn off the ignition. I am having a new boot switch fitted. I also had to get a new battery and was told that this could be because of the boot fault. Today I was driving and a high pitched continuous internal alarm started and kept going even when I got out of the car and locked the doors. It stopped after about 10 minutes. Is this to do with the same fault as my boot or something completely different?

Answers

My wife’s car had a similar problem. There seems to be a problem with the boot switch which intermittently opens and closes but when parked it drains the battery. Obviously when fully charged you won’t notice the problem, but if the car is left for a couple of days it will eventually drain the battery. I looked further into this and found that the switch is prone to condensation. By replacing it with the same switch from the dealer it will eventually cause the same problem. Mine too also had the high pitched alarm which I used to cancel via the internal lock /unlock door button but my battery soon died. There is a company that does an alternative switch based in Hyde called ’3D labelling systems limited’ if you want to check it out - Abbas from England.

Before you spend time and money check the wiring harness that connects the hatch to the body. There is a rubber sheath that allows the wires to pass into the rear hatch door in the top RH corner, the wires might be frayed inside this and causing a short, I had similar problems that went on for weeks, battery flat etc wipers acting weird, I popped the wires out and after stripping them back reconnecting and re-insulating all is fine - Terry from Lancashire

Terry from Lancashire is correct. Peel back the rubber sheath covering the wire harness that connects the hatchback to the body. Bet some of the wires are frayed. This is a very common problem on the Micra K12. Strip frayed ends, solder together, not simply twist and cover repair with heat shrink tubing. Don’t use tape as the wires may not sit in the ribber sheath neatly when you pull it back over wires/loom. I did this repair on my wife’s car when the boot packed up. There is also a problem with the boot release switch also on Micra K12 with water ingress - Steve Evans from Surrey

Penelope , England

Nissan Micra 2003

My 2003 Nissan Micra is causing me a headache. It only starts if I put the pedal to the floor. Even then if I miss a small window of opportunity it behaves as if I have flooded it and refuses to start for 10 minutes or sometimes a couple of hours, but it seems to be showing more tendencies towards overnight. When it does get going it`s so nippy. We had a diagnosis that indicated that we should change the cam shaft sensor and or the crank shaft sensor. This is weird because when the problem reoccurred it worked when we unplugged the crank shaft sensor and re plugged it and it started every time for a while, until we then changed the crank shaft sensor and this trick no longer worked. The diagnosis was not specific and gave 4 options. By process of elimination the next step was to check the wiring and then the ECU. I would hate to spend the money on costly electrics and then find that this was one of a common problem with Nissans which nobody knows why it occurs as I have discovered by reading reviews. Has anyone come across this problem with their Nissan?

Needless to say I did not replace the unit, instead I went for a 3rd opinion and I took the car to an Auto Electrician and they fixed it straight away. Answers

My 2003 Nissan Micra had the same problem several months ago. If I didn’t drive it for a day or so the battery would be totally dead when I next tried to start it up. Once it had been jump started it was fine and as long as I drove it everyday there wasn’t a problem. When I took the car in for a service the garage told me that the battery terminal had come loose so it wasn’t holding a charge, they fixed it and fingers crossed, it all seems okay again now. So it could be a loose battery terminal, just a suggestion - Bev from Cheshire

My wife’s car had a similar problem (also keyless). Are you having problems with your boot opening and closing by itself? There seems to be a problem with the boot switch which intermittently opens and closes but when parked, drains the battery. Obviously when fully charged you won’t notice the problem but if the car is left for a couple of days it will eventually drain the battery. I looked further into this and found that the switch is prone to condensation and replacing the faulty switch with another one from a dealer would eventually cause the same problem (approx £150 part and labour). My Nissan Micra convertible (2008 reg) has a leak on the driver`s side and water is gathering inside the seal at the door. Water does not seem to come in when it`s raining but seeps in following rainfall and drips into the car, soaking the driver’s seat. The seals have been replaced but it`s still happening. The garage keeps water testing and saying it’s not leaking, but I don’t think they can replicate rainfall that has been falling for hours. It seems like a drainage issue to me. Any ideas on what to do to fix the problem?

Answers

I have a Nissan Micra Convertible (58 reg) which has exactly the same problem. I bought it second hand last year and within 3 weeks it leaked in. I thas been back to the dealership on a number of occasions, the seals have been replaced and it made no difference. I thought the fault was more to do with the window not fitting tightly enough and told them this on the third occasion they had it back. They did something to the door and tightened it up, the door was difficult to open but the leak seemed to have gone. I returned the car in January this year to the dealer for its service and they must have done something to the door, as it was easier to open when i got it back. Needless to say the leak returned the next time we had persistent rain. As you say it doesn’t seem to leak in no matter how heavy the rain is if it only lasts for a short while, but if its persistent and lasts all day the seat is soaked. The car was back in yesterday to be looked at again and they said they have done something to the door to ensure the seal is tighter around the window so we will see if that works. Its definitely not the rubber seal on the roof though as mine has also been replaced and it made no difference whatsoever. I’d ask about tightening the door to make it more flush to the seal and see if that helps. Just hope it works this time!!! Denise Scott from Durham

Hi Pam but really a question for Denise - my niece recently bought a Micra convertible 2008 and is having a similar problem. I think the company she bought it from is in Framwellgate Moor - has the repair worked? As I would like to let my niece know as she is about to take it back to the company for further action - if you don’t mind me asking did you buy it privately or from supplier in the Durham area? I’m just trying to establish if it is a known problem and if you purchased it from the same company then they should already know how to sort out her car repair - hope this makes sense. Kind Regards - Joan Lawton from Northumberland

Nissan Micra 2001

Hi all. I have had a 2001 Nissan Micra 2001 for just over a year. When I bought it, it had just had an MOT and the Malfunction Indictaor light was on steady, but the MOT stated that the cause of this was not found and the car drove okay so I just left it. I have just had a full service and MOT done where I had a new throttle body fitted, oil change and the rest (windscreen wipers and two new front tyres). The malfunction indicator has been alternately flashing for short periods and then on steadily this week and in low gears the car is juddering - when it gets to about 25 mph the juddering seems to stop. After slowing down or stopping that seems to be when the malfunction indictor will be flashing for maybe 10 seconds and then it goes steady. Since it has turned back on it hasn`t gone off. The car has had new exhaust boxes fitted approx 6 months ago. Does any one have any ideas what this might be? I am coming close to having spent more to fix the car over the last year than it cost me to buy so any ideas will be much appreciated.

Nissan Micra 2001

Hi all. I have owned a Nissan Micra for a year and have just had a service and MOT carried out. Before the service the car would drive very slowly unless it had been idling for about 5 minutes. A new throttle body has been fitted and now it starts straight away. However, it now "judders" when getting up to 25 mph and in the first two gears and the malfunction indicator light has come on. The malfunction light occasionally flashes for approx 20 seconds then comes on steady - the car drives more smoothly when it`s on steady. When I bought the car, this light was on and I was told that diagnostics were not conclusive and the car drove fine at first so I ignored it. I am wondering if anyone knows what the matter could be now, since it has gone off for a week and come back on? Since buying the car it has also had a complete new exhaust system fitted, so I am reluctant to spend more money on it if it is falling apart or if it is going to be an expensive job to sort out. Can anyone help? Many thanks.

I bought a used 2003 Micra almost 2 years ago. I took it to get serviced 2 days ago and apparently the guy was telling me that the bulb for the ABS indicator light on the dashboard wasn’t there and for him to fix it he would have to replace the whole thing and that’ll cost more than 450 euros. I was just wondering what the best decision was regarding this problem seeing as it wouldn’t be cheap to fix it. Thank you.

Answers

I would question why someone has removed the bulb. There is a known problem with Micras displaying the ABS fault and this requires a new ABS module. Main dealers quote circa £1500 to replace, so I suspect someone has removed the bulb and sold/part ex the car with this fault - Ian M from Cheshire.

It looks as though the cable/wire has come adrift of the catch. Is it simply a cased of taking the seat apart and re-attaching the cable/wire or does it need a new cable/wire? Thanks for any help. Hi, I have a 2003 Nissan Micra, purchased about a month ago. Every now and then the word ’KEY’ flashes on the dashboard in green - does anyone know why please? Thank you in advance. Cheers, Joe.

Answers

Am not sure but this could be the anti-hijack function. Depending on exactly what model you have there could be an anti-hijack mechanism. This would mean you have the option of only opening the driver door with the fob or fully opening all doors with the fob central locking function. It may be the car warning you that the passenger doors are also open. Have a check of your owners manual - Kevin Brigden from Lancashire

This happened on the wife’s dci. It’s the battery, it needs changing in the key fob - Mick from England

With ours, this only occurs when the fob is too far away from the ignition switch - Colin Statham from Nottinghamshire

The front windscreen wipers keep not working but it is intermittent. Sometimes you get in the car and turn them on and they are fine and the next day turn them on and there is nothing, no movement or noise, then the next day working again. It seems to be bad when it is cold and sometimes you can get them to work by pulling the wipers around a bit which makes me think it could be a connection problem but strange that you can do nothing and then it works one day and not the next. Took it to the garage and they said they had fixed it after paying £100 but when I got home turned them on and nothing. Took it back and they got it working but same thing now keeps happening. All fuses are fine. There was some dirt and a bit of moss growing near the axis of the wiper connection but we cleared that out. Any suggestions as it is really inconvenient not being able to go out if there is a chance of rain but don’t want to pay the garage to not fix it again. Thanks, Victoria.

Hi Wendy, my mum just purchased the new Nissan Micra and has the same problem. The dealer here says it’s not meant to clear the window. I believe it’s a fault and a hazard as you can’t see out your window! - Lorna Mclurg from County Antrim

I had constant problems with the immobiliser, so I have now removed all of the wires that were associated with it (that was the easy bit). But I can’t start the car as the alarm light is still activating on and flashing with the door. I have seen how patches can be made up to insert into the alarm module and I have a spare one of those, but all images and descriptions on the internet do not match the wiring colours that I have. The code number on the Nissan/Lucas box are 28596 9F900 8AS 52010036A 24/94. I have now removed the original radio and left the battery disconnected for several hours as well. I have an automatic Micra. The problem I have is the gear stick keeps breaking off the mount which selects the gears and the auto gears are very stiff and hard to push it in to the gears? Can anybody help?

Nissan Micra 2008

I have just bought a Nissan Micra 1.4 Accenta+ with 18,000 miles on the clock, year 2008. It is a perfect little car except every time I change gear I get a CLUNK. 1st gear - clunk; second gear - clunk etc... Is this normal on the Micra as this is what the sales person is telling me. A friend lifted the bonnet and noticed the ’rods’ were loose. I am a lady pensioner and this means nothing to me. Do I have to live with this clunking noise or can it be rectified and how? What am I asking the mechanic at the garage to look for when I take it back. Any help would be much appreciated. (1.4 Accenta+)

Ollie, I own a 2006 Micra 1.2. There is always a noise from the gear linkage when changing gear, basically as you describe it. Recently had a loan of a newly registered 1,000 mile on the clock model when mine was serviced and didn’t really notice much of a difference. Think it’s just the design of the linkages that causes this and I honestly think your sales person is telling you the truth. There’s no doubt that the gearbox and quality of the change is the car’s weak link but you’ll soon forget all about it when you accept it is not actually a fault - Frank from Scotland
