Mine is having gear problem, not entering gear 5 since I bought it and i had tried to fix it but could not,pls need ur advice

Answers

I've just bought a bush kit off ebay. Genuine parts. The kit covers from the gearbox right up to the gear stick. A little fiddley. My car would go from 4th to 3rd even tho i was after fifth. I had to go from 4th then neutral then hit the gear stick over to 5th while double declutch. Sometimes this wouldn't work. Had to start again. And 1st was difficult at times. Had to double declutch like on old car with no sycromesh. Any way sorted. Go's through the gears like new. Matt. from Torbay

my remote petrol filler flap lever which is by by drivers seat will not work how can i repair it

Answers

If the lever feels sloppy you probably have a broken cable. You should be able to access the back of the petrol filler flap by removing the inner trim side panel in the boot. Look to find where the cable connects to the flap mechanism and you should be able to release the door so you can fill it with petrol. Check to see whether the release mechanism just needs lubricated but if the cable is snapped it's fairly straightforward to replace. Hugh from City of Glasgow

Sir, Problem Statement: TOE IN AND TOE OUT ON THE REAR WHEELS The car chasis no is 056865 . The car has a"toe in " and "toe out" problems leading to vehicle vibration on speed and quick damage of the rear tyres. This has been addressed by my local mechanics (3 different auto mechanics) Below are the changes/repairs made in the process: *The current tyre sizes on the car are: "175 x 80 / R14 forthe mfront wheel while the rear wheel has 185 x 60/R14 . *We replaced the damaged bushings with another set. *The adjuster has been adjusted to the limit i.e this was done in the process of correcting the toe in and out problems. *The rear assembly was raised up i.e increase in coil rings. * Both the wheel balancing and alignment were done at the end of each repair or change of parts. All the above attempts were made but no solution yet, rather two sets of tyres fixed on the rear wheels got damaged at high frequency of replacement I need your proffessional advise or recommendations that would bring the vehicle back to it,s base condition. The mistbushi car is presently packed and locked up in my garage awaiting a real solution to this ligering problem. Your quick and detail response will be appreciated.

Hi, Can somebody help me please. My space star is perfect except the speedo overreads by 20%-30% depending on speed. Yes that is 20-30%. The mileometer overreads by the same amount. It has been like this for the last 5 years. The problem is that my insurance cover specifies a limited number of miles per annum, and each year I have to pay a surcharge.

I had similar problem. it was first thought to be carbon build up in the catalyser, but then moving to the air intake, the filter has an air motor on the large round pipe next to it which was changed. you can test this by disconnecting the three wire plug on the top of the pipe. ken chambers from Greater Manchester

I had a similar problem, I changed fuel to know branded ones as appose to the more cheaper ones available. Worked fine for me and still does. jimbo from Blackburn with Darwen

The same problem with mine. pls we need an urgent reply. thanks kay Ronald from Nigeria

If the squeak that you hear is more like a squeal, it usually means that the drive belt for the power steering is loose and needs tightened. Also check the level of the power steering fluid. Hugh from City of Glasgow

if belt appears tight and fluid ok then belt worn and shining can temp fix with can of anti belt slip spray spray while slipping but be careful as dont want accident john from Renfrewshire

Yellow light comes on intermittently. Cutting out on slowing down. It will restart immediately and otherwise is going as good as ever. The fault is frightfully dangerous as I have to cross a murderous two- laned by-pass to collect grandchildren. Thanks, Ann

Answers

Ann, by "the yellow lights" I assume you mean the engine management light... if this comes on your engine can (and sounds as if it IS" go into what they call limp mode where you will lose poser. There are many reasons, some simple, some complex, why this should happen and you ought to get the vehicle connected to an OBD computer to get it fault read to see what the problem is.. it could be purely electrical connection, failed sensor or the like, but it could be something potentially more serious. RE from Caerphilly

Thanks R Evans. She connected to a computer last evening and possible faults are Fuel Pump Sensor or Regulator - failing these the Pump itself. One of the best Agatha Christies I read, long before the Space Star era, was "Why didn't they ask Evans" !! Ann Ann O'Sullivan from Ireland
