I noticed my temp gauge up so stopped cooled it off asked some people I know to look at it as I suspected it was egr cooler they by passed it said it seemed to not be the issue as the header tank was still bubbling when it was by passed and they said it could be the head gasket or a cracked block they also checked my thermostat anyway cut a long story short I said save all the messing about if its cracked the head just fit a new one and gasket so they did its been ok for about 4 weeks then today whilst I was towing I noticed heaters were cold and temp started rising again so can somebody tell me what's the chances of it being the egr or has it blown the new gasket and if so why ?r is the bulk cracked should I just drop a new engine in it? I can source a new one from milners but is there any cheaper options should be looking at first?I need it back on the road asap I don't have time for messing about as I use it daily for my job as I run my own business and its my workhorse please help me find out what's wrong with my truck

Hi I have an 07 Warrior new shape with superselect manual gearbox. My problem started when I was driving on tarmac in 4wd h and heard a clicking noise that seemed to be coming from the passenger side front wheel, but only a slight noise until I was returning home and the click turned into a sudden thud like noise and I was unable to drive on. I pulled up and couldn't see anything obvious wrong so tried again with the same result. I tried in 2wd and it drove home smooth as ever, so a couple of days ago I thought I would try 4wd again but when I tried to move it was like the front wheels were jammed, so I selected 2wd and drove off. After about half a mile I nearly had kittens as a loud screeching whistling noise came from truck that lasted about 10 seconds and it was driving really rough and noticed the 4wd lights on the dash were flashing, so I stopped and made sure it was back in 2wd and drove off with no problem. Any suggestions as to what's wrong? So far we have tried checking the vacuum pipes to actuator and actuator seems to be working ok. I believe if there was no vacuum the front diff would revert to 4wd automatically as the lack of vacuum would cause the actuator to fail.HELP

Hello everyone, I have a Mitsubishi L200 Animal 2007 to 2008. I was driving and the engine just stalled when I checked the timing belt and balancing was snapped, I got a mechanic to change both belts but the engine is swinging free like it`s only the starting motor alone is swinging. I also checked the van with my obd2 reader and gave a a fault on my cam shaft sensor. When I checked the pulley a couple of the teeth are misssing. Can anyone give any advice as to if the van should start or the head should be taken off because of how it is swinging?

Last night the top radiator hose on our L200 Warrior split causing the temp gauge to go sky high. I managed to limp home after replacing it with a temp one and topping it up. Tonight I have fitted a new hose, hoping that would rectify the problem. On refilling the system and restarting the truck the temp gauge was again high and I had no heat in the cab. I have removed the thermostat and used gasket glue and now the temp stays at the half way mark but I now have fluid bubbling into my expansion tank. The head was replaced 6 and a half years ago ........... can anyone shed some light on this ??????

Answers

Either head gasket has gone or egr cooler perforated! Just had same problem ! Mine was caused by a worn fuel injector pump that caused damage to the injectors and led to the head over heating and thus cracking and damaging gasket. Rick from Hull

What is best for towing a caravan single diff high or twin diff high on motorways

Answers

Firstly the warning, like the yellow sticker says (ya know... The one on the drivers door warning about the 4x4) Driving any 'off road' based 4x4 vehicle in awd on paved roads at high speed is BAD! For regular towing on any decent tarmaced road and not exceeding the max pulling capacity of the vehicle then 2wd-hi is ideal! If you're getting back wheel spin up when pulling off then the addition of balast on the pickup bed is all you need. An extra 50-100kg will be more economical on a longer run than driving in 4wd, not to mention that you wont be replacing tyres every couple of trips from excess wear! Afterall a lot of the larger rwd saloon cars make very good caravan towers! The only time you may need it in 4wd is the same occasions you'd need it without towing... Off road, Severe weather, Muddy field etc Mark from Aberdeenshire

The 4 wheel drive green light on dashboard is flashing all the time, except when occasionally you are driving the light disappears and a whirring noise is heard from under the front of the vehicle. If you then slow to a standstill the whirring slows and then stops and then when you move off the light on the dashboard starts flashing again, apart from a poulterghost!! what could be the cause of this please.

Answers

It sounds like your 4 wd is not disengaging properly sometimes also the mitzis when mudded beneath the wheel arches can clog the sensors and this can lead to a flashing 4wd light when not engaged and running in 2wd but the whirring noise you are hearing is 4 wd working. Maz from Gwent

We have a problem when air conditioning is switched on for any length of time, there is water dripping into the passenger footwell. What could be causing this? Also the green 4 wheel drive light continually flashes. However if it stops then there is a whirring noise underneath the vehicle and then if you bring the vehicle to a standstill this noise stops and the green light flashes again. Any ideas on the above would be most helpful, many thanks
