I have a 2002 Mazda MPV. Today while driving on the interstate the car started "jerking." That is the best word I have to describe it. Then I noticed that everytime it did it, the MPH gauge was going way up, even though I wasn`t adjusting my speed. I made it home and turned off the van. I tried to start it again and it wouldn’t start. I tried giving it gas while starting it (normally I wouldn’t do) and it started. I took it for a drive to see how it was acting and while driving through town it doesn`t appear to be "jerking" like it was on the interstate but the MPH is staying right at 40 MPH even when I speed up. When I slow down it takes a while for the MPH to go down. It doesn’t feel like the transmission is shifting at all. I’m no mechanic but it sounds like a transmission issue. How serious is this? Any ideas?

Hi. My Mazda MPV is showing a yellow "hold" label on the dashboard. What could this mean?

I have parking/side lights on constantly. Have unplugged light switch and still they’re on. Only way I can get them off is to disconnect battery or remove both fuses. Have tried finding the relay but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

The anti-theft alarm in my 2001 Mazda MPV will not stop going off. Every time we open a door, it triggers the alarm. I finally pulled the fuse to stop it, but it is the same fuse as my locks (from the interior), radio and interior lights. Now the ’check engine light’ has come on and the car is not starting first try. It usually takes two tries to start it. The keyfob has not worked in years so I do not think it has anything to do with it. I am not interested in spending a lot. I would prefer to just disarm it, but would also like my locks and radio to keep working. Does anyone have any suggestions?
