The central locking on the Kia Rio Ice that I’ve just bought won’t work. It says in the owner`s manual that central locking is optional, but on checking there is a fuse in for the central locking which looks okay (not blown). Is there a relay anywhere that might be causing it not to work? There isn’t one mentioned in the handbook or in the fuse diagrams. (Ice)

I am having problems with the power steering on my Kia Rio. Possibly pump? Engine seems to pull back. Purchased brand new 8 months ago and has only 3,000 miles on the clock. Unhappy! What can be done?

I’ve just bought a Kia Rio 1.3 Ice. It passed an MOT 2 weeks ago and I have since driven 80 miles. After 40 miles a check light came on and is still on. According to the book it’s an emissions problem and I am having my doubts now about the MOT, if there really is an emission problem. Has anyone any ideas what it could be thank you?

I have an 2010 Insignia 2.0 (160) and I get 63 on a motorway - dare I say it might be the way you are diriving. I do tend to stick to the speed limit - maybe that’s why I get good mileage - around town it varies between 34 and 37 - Sue Hall from England

I have just purchased my Kia Rio and I have come across a problem with the interior light. When the door opens the light will not come on, there are no buttons on the light to activate this option apart from two buttons to turn the light on and off regardless of the door being open or not. Can anyone shed any light on this for me as I don’t even know if this car has this. I’m guessing it should do but I have got no idea.

I have recently changed the motor oil and a spark plug on my Kia Rio. Now, the engine is losing power when going up hills. There are no codes. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

I have had this car from new recently I have had to return it to the dealer twice with starting problems. Each time, no problem was diagnosed. They then thought it was the key, so the key was changed. Two weeks later, I am back to square one. I feel very uneasy now not knowing when the car is going to let me down. I have had to call the breakdown service once and don’t want to have to do that again. Any advice please? (chill)

Hi. I am thinking of purchasing a six month old Kia Rio 1.5 CRDi. I currently own a 1998 Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDi. My question is should I buy a diesel engined car with a particulate filter? I only drive 3.6 miles to and from work each day. (1.5 CRDI)

Just changed my battery in my 2003 Kia Rio because yesterday it was minus 30 and the car would not start. It now starts no problem but my radio / interior light / speedo / mirror heater / temperature gauge don’t. Does anybody know why this might be?
