I’ve just bought a Kia Rio 1.3 Ice. It passed an MOT 2 weeks ago and I have since driven 80 miles. After 40 miles a check light came on and is still on. According to the book it’s an emissions problem and I am having my doubts now about the MOT, if there really is an emission problem. Has anyone any ideas what it could be thank you?

I have just purchased my Kia Rio and I have come across a problem with the interior light. When the door opens the light will not come on, there are no buttons on the light to activate this option apart from two buttons to turn the light on and off regardless of the door being open or not. Can anyone shed any light on this for me as I don’t even know if this car has this. I’m guessing it should do but I have got no idea.

I have had this car from new recently I have had to return it to the dealer twice with starting problems. Each time, no problem was diagnosed. They then thought it was the key, so the key was changed. Two weeks later, I am back to square one. I feel very uneasy now not knowing when the car is going to let me down. I have had to call the breakdown service once and don’t want to have to do that again. Any advice please? (chill)

Hi experts, please kindly advice me. I bought a Kia Carens 2005 1.8 L/S A/T an import in December 2009 and ever since I have experienced difficulty with the car not speeding or moving nicely. As it was my 1st time to drive an automatic, I didn’t bother much. Now lately, it totally refused to move any further and according to the mechanic servicing the car, there is a leakage from the gearbox or rather the gearbox oil is pressing out of the ’dip stict’. What do you think can be the cause of the problem? Will a rebuilding of the gearbox be a good idea? You are highly appreciated thanks in advance. (1.8 L/S A/T)

What’s the difference between the Kia Soul Shaker and the Kia Soul Tempest?

Answers

Body colour (Tempest is titanium, Shaker is beige or brown); interior trim colour (Tempest is black, Shaker is beige and black houndstooth) and wheel colour (Tempest is black and silver, Shaker is silver). And possibly the Shaker has a sunroof instead of the Tempest’s upgraded stereo. Mechanically they are identical. Other differences are just the odd minor trim finish or colour - Gary Smith from Flintshire
