Just changed my fuel filter I did fill with diesel While running on the drive I was reving engine and trying to hold at a constant rev and while doing it I noticed a loudish click then the revs would drop then they would rise up again and click again they would drop I'm assuming it's some kind of sensor tripping out sound seemed to come from low in engine bay I wonder if anyone has a clue on what sensor to look at Original prob was when go round corners I lose some power to throttle and van jerks so thought change fuel filter first

how do check the injectors on a 1.8 deisle engine

Answers

You'd best take it to a diesel service centre eg Bosch authorised service and repair shop. Taking the injectors out can be difficult and they require special test equipment to check them and set them up. Hugh from City of Glasgow

the glow plug warning light comes on while im driving and the engine stops

Answers

Not sure of your vehicle but the glow plug warning lamp is sometimes to warn you that the DPF filter is blocked. If it is, you would start running in limp mode and if you keep driving it the engine will eventually come to a stop. Hugh from City of Glasgow

Hi, So I have noticed a patch of water under the van and a slow drip coming from underneath, it looks as though it is coming off one of the pipes but it could be from anywhere, the coolant level also drops very quickly after topping this up, mechanic has just ddne a quick look and can't see any obvious leaks etc, next step would be the water pump? Does this sound like it could be the water pump? He looked round the hoses and pipes and no leaks from them so to me it does sound like the water pump? The drip does seem a pinky color, the same as the coolant mix I put in Any advice would be great Thanks in advance Craig

My transit connect van over heats after about 7 to 10 miles the pressure is high and sometimes blows water out . does not seem to have head gasket problem as no water in oil or system header tank , have been told may be turbo water cooling side and pressure from turbo is getting into cooling system . If I slacken cap off it does blow water out of cap have to carry a gallon of water in van all the time you know when water is at high pressure when heater stops heating , by working on system by taking pressure off slow if ness top up and you get next 7 to 10 miles and heater works ok till it over pressures again any thoughts as I have replaced stat pump rad fans and new pressure cap

Hi I have a 2006 ford transit connect tdci the alternator went wrong almost caught fire I've since replaced that and the battery and the immobilsor light started to come up so I had an auto locksmith come out and try program a key it wouldn't accept any key to be programmed he tried to whipe the system of all keys and then reprogram keys and still wouldn't work he advised it could be a few things the part around the ignition for picking up the transponder or the ecu now I've replaced the ecu the clocks the central locking control box and the part around the ignition along with the clocks and I have no lights coming up on the dash other then the immobilsor light. the indercators don't work and none of the other lights around the van will work other then the head lights the radio is fine that's got power I'm just wondering what Type of work I'm gonna have to do too it as I'm starting to look towards scrapping it as its cost me over 2 grand and I'm sill putting money in too it

I had the same problem on my 2004 lwb 220 connect, it was the alternator wiring harness loom which had perished due to water ingress, the auto electrician showed me the wiring loom and you could literally break the wires just by pulling them.. Repair cost £120.00 inc vat harness from ford should have been £35.00 + vat but electrician made the loom on the job as he said the genuine ford replacement wasn't long enough to replace the damaged wires...Hope this helps.. I have got a multiple electrical failure on my Connect where I have lost wipers (completely), Windscreen washer, heater blower and both sides electric windows. The fuses are all OK. I have removed and refitted all relays in both fuseboards, I have removed the multi-connectors at the base of both door pillars and checked for signs of corrosion and have removed the main fuseboard from the chassis behind the glove box to check for loose connections and signs of moisture ingress. I have found nothing to suggest a cause and I am now struggling to find a likely cause for this multiple failure. Can anybody help?
