Hello On my mk 6 transit when i lock the doors using the fob at night the next morning the front doors may be unlocked. It also happens during the day, sometimes unlocks immediately after locking. Also sometimes when i close the side sliding door the locks on all the doors would either lock or unlock. The locks on the sliding door and rear door work perfectly and stay locked. Have tried locking manually with the key and the same thing happens. Thanks Ivan

Hi, I have a random issue with my van. When I start the van from cold and depress the clutch the car starts to shunt and revs up and down by about 300 revs. When I take my foot off the clutch is does one extra rev by about 500 revs and then settles back to idle. I depress the clutch a second time and it doesn't do it again. However if I turn off the ignition and start it up the whole scenario starts again when i depress the clutch. It does now and again do it when the van is warm but it totally random. Any ideas?

Hi, I've got a Transit 100 T350L RWD that's done 91000 miles. Over the last few days I've noticed that when I press the accelerator I get a whirring/whining noise. It doesn't seem to matter what gear I'm in and is more prominent between 2-3k revs. At first I thought it may be the idler pulley or belt tensioner but after lifting the bonnet and having the accelerator pressed it doesn't make the sound. The noise also disappears when I press the clutch down. I've done the regular checks and the oil was pretty low so I've topped that up. Any ideas before I take it to the garage? Any help very much appreciated. Paul

disconnect battery, leave 10 mins, remove airbag, 2 bolts behind covers in back of steering wheel, undo centre steering wheel nut and pull wheel off, dont take the bolt right out to begin with or you will end up with a steering wheel sandwich :!: :!:, replace the clock spring, refit steering wheel and airbag reconnect battery and switch ignition on light should come on and then go out, you wont have to have system reset jen from Darlington

I have a 1997 Ford Transit diesel van. The coolant expansion tank was replaced due to some leakage (old age). Since then I have had two tanks split apart while travelling. On neither occasion was there any indication of overheating and after emergency repairs the engine ran okay. The thermostat was replaced after the first failure. Currently investigating head gasket though symptoms (no overheating) don't point that way. Is this a common failure and have I been unlucky enough to get two dodgy tanks/ Thanks for any thoughts. Answers

Had similar problem with our 97 transit diesel van. Ended up disconnecting electronics and fitting a manual fuel distributer pump. No point having your electronic pump overhauled as Ford no longer supply the necessary parts to do that properly. In fact you will find that ford could not care less. Good luck. Peter, Australia Peter Stead from Australia

If engine runs on after turning off the key you have a faulty fuel cutoff solenoid. Turning the key on again promptly kills the motor and after a few times it leaves limp mode. Richard from New Zealand
