Our 1986 Ford Transit 190 was converted into a Horsebox, after many years of pleasure, it's time that the cab has had it's day. My question is, we are hoping to keep the Luton/box and transfer to a newer cab possibly a year of manufacture between 2004 to 2007. So does anyone think there be a problem doing this, example the rails that the box sits on are not compatible. We do know of people that have done this, but normally this was done when the ages of both vehicles were much similar.

I recently purchased a reversing light switch , when I went to what I thought was the switch I assumed it was at the rear of the gearbox ,I was wrong . this was a plastic switch with a 2 pin plug which was just pushed into the housing . I am not as nimble as I used to be and I would like to no where it is fitted so it saves me a lot of time underneath the van. I would like some help PLEASE thanks Keith tarry

Hello On my mk 6 transit when i lock the doors using the fob at night the next morning the front doors may be unlocked. It also happens during the day, sometimes unlocks immediately after locking. Also sometimes when i close the side sliding door the locks on all the doors would either lock or unlock. The locks on the sliding door and rear door work perfectly and stay locked. Have tried locking manually with the key and the same thing happens. Thanks Ivan

Hi, my van had an intermittent starting problem, just a clicking solenoid, when I last tried to start it the starter remained engaged and cranking, the only way I could get it to stop was to disconnect the battery. Would you think this was a starter or a solenoid problem ?

Ford Transit

Hi, I have a random issue with my van. When I start the van from cold and depress the clutch the car starts to shunt and revs up and down by about 300 revs. When I take my foot off the clutch is does one extra rev by about 500 revs and then settles back to idle. I depress the clutch a second time and it doesn't do it again. However if I turn off the ignition and start it up the whole scenario starts again when i depress the clutch. It does now and again do it when the van is warm but it totally random. Any ideas?
