When driving my car there’s no problem but when I come to slow down the rev counter rests at 1500 revs until I come too a stop, then it drops to normal. Is this normal?

Hi. I bought my Ford Puma about two weeks ago and it was fine. Now when I am driving it it over accelerates, sometimes during gear changes. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Ours has done the same - we’ve had it checked and it’s the hydraulic clutch that’s going - they quoted us around £350 including labour (@4 hrs) to get it fixed... Ell Jones from England

Hi, I have just removed a metal clutch slave cylinder. The hydraulic pipe clipped into a valve that screwed into the cylinder. The new plastic one hasn’t got a screw thread for the valve to be fitted. Can the pipe be clipped directly into the new cylinder? Thank you.

Hey peeps, just wondering if anyone shares the same problem as me... When I go to indicate it does that fine, it’s just on the cancellation we start having problems. If I turn right for instance it’s fine but if I turn left and indicate I have to cancel myself otherwise it will just stay on. Any suggestions please on how to fix?

I bought a Ford Puma and they didn’t mention but the blowers only blow cold air. I’ve taken it to the garage and they said that they think it is maybe a leak? They said that someone has disconnected and rerouted with tubing so that the air cannot be heated as it is bypassing the engine? Why would someone do this? Is this going to mean that something is very wrong? It’s sounding like I’ve been stitched up? Can any one help?

Answers

Hello. Just read your query. It could be a number of reasons, the heating system is broken and leaking so they by passed it. This is due to the fact maybe there wasn’t enough cooling fluid in the system and the heater froze and burst. So it’s not a big problem by a second hand heater £20 and fix it in yourself - David Williams from Netherlands

Hi, I’ve had a load of problems with my Puma recently... Car jerks mainly in 3rd gear, but getting worse in other gears, especially when revs are around 1,000. Stalls at junctions and roundabouts. The rev counter doesn’t seem to be correct. I have to stay in high revs when I slow down to try and get the car to not stall. She starts first time every time... However the only thing I’ve done is put oil in her. I know I bought the correct oil, but maybe I should do an oil change anyway? Please help!!! Also my lights are so dim it almost seems they aren’t even on, but that’s an intermittent problem :/ Thanks.

Over past few months my Ford Puma has failed to start periodically. 1st time it was a fuse blown from the box in the engine 10 amp 2nd one up on left side. RAC told me it was fuel pump needing replacing On another occassion the RAC suggested it might be related to the fuel hose. Fuse does not always blow when car won’t start. Sometimes it won’t start from cold and sometimes from warm. I don’t want to spend loads of money getting the fuel pump changed if it might be something else. Any ideas?

I had my cam belt changed at Ford on Monday. When I picked the car up it was fine. Today, I have a loud knocking noise. I have taken it back to Ford and they have told me they need to keep my car. Have they fitted the cam belt wrong? What damage could this have caused?
