After doing an oil and filter change on my Ford Focus Estate and putting the correct amount of oil in the engine (3.8Ltrs), after about 100 miles the level rises and shows up on the dipstick. Can anybody tell me what is wrong here and has anybody had the same problem? (1.6tdci)

Hi. I’ve a Focus with a Zetec engine but now it has got a rattling sound when accelerating and power loss when going up hill. What could be the cause of this problem? I have changed the timing belt before, at 90,000 km and currently it has 109,000 km on the clock. I have tried spark plugs - still same behaviour, now I am considering taking it to the diagnostic machine - maybe that can help?

Hi, the heater in my Ford Focus seems to be playing up i.e., taking a long time to get to a bearable temperature. This results in the interior windscreen not clearing, sometimes this can take 20 minutes. I had a chip repaired last winter, could this be anything to do with the problem?

My lock has gone on the bonnet of my Ford Focus Estate so I can’t get in. The garage states they will have to go in from underneath and remove radiator to get lock out. Has anyone any suggestions please?
Answers
Yes I had that same problem, so my partner drilled the lock out through the front where you unlock it with the key, works a treat now as I use a flat headed screw driver to undo it as I keep one in my door. Our 1.8-litre Ford Focus tdci keeps cutting out at junctions. The yellow warning light comes on and then a complete loss of power. I have to restart the car. The garage fitted new injectors and throttle but the problem still hasn’t gone. It’s so dangerous and so random - has anybody else experienced this and can offer any advice?
Answers
Take it back to the garage and get it code read as only electrical/sensor problems put the management light on, and tell them they have wasted your money on injectors etc. as the same problem exists - Martin Jones from Essex

Do I lose my code when battery goes flat?
Answers
If you mean the radio code, then yes - Martin Jones from Essex
Don’t worry about the code, there are lots of sites that will give you your code via the year and reg of your car. Most codes are free but the site maybe ask for a donation, type car radio codes, into your browser and you will find lots of sites that will give your the code. It worked for me several times.
