Hi there, I bought Ford Fiesta for my daughter 5 weeks ago. She says it has only done it twice when trying to engage reverse gear, but it`s like there is a slight pull, the car comes to a slight halt then clicks into gear, her words. I will look at it Monday just to make sure she is depressing the clutch okay but any ideas? Also, it`s a 2 door and the back rests of the front seats seem to have excessive play ie grab the headrests and the back rest moves a bit too much. Is it too much of a job to fix ie can the dealer do it or is it new seats? Cheers guys.

I have water ingress to the rear driver`s side footwell of my Ford Fiesta. I dried it out and next time out used the washwipe front and rear. At the end of the journey I checked the floor and again it was wet. There was no rain that day. I did a hosepipe test and no sign of wet. What is the likely cause of the water?

Hi, Bit of a strange one. I got my Ford Fiesta back from it`s 4 year service and recently noticed every now and then when I am indicating, but the steering wheel is straight, if I move the steering wheel in either direction about 3 degrees either side of the centre I get a weird clicking sound. It’s different to the sound the indicator cancelling clicks - they all seem to be working okay. It doesn’t do it all of the time, but seems to be getting more frequent. It sounds like it is coming from just behind the actual steering wheel, so I am assuming it`s not a fuse or an electrical issue. I have no warning lights and the steering seems fine. I have tried adjusting the rake/reach of the wheel but it makes no difference and it only does it when the indicator is on, it stops doing it as soon as I cancel the indicator. The car is a UK Ford Fiesta 2009 Zetec 1.25. I don’t have the money to put it into Ford to get them to look at it and I know they will end up saying "unable to replicate the problem" and charge me a fortune! Does anybody have any ideas? Many thanks. (Zetec 1.25 Duratec)

Hi. The front wipers on my Ford Fiesta start working as soon as I turn the ignition on and the only way to stop them is by taking the fuse out. I have changed the stalk units but this has made no difference. What can I do? (1.25 zetec)

I have had my clutch changed on my Ford Fiesta zetec S. The bloke that did it had broken the passenger side abs/traction control sensor so I put a new one on but now the lights won`t go out on the dash. Anyone know the reason why?

My Ford Fiesta 2007 1.6 ambient sometimes starts on the turn of the key and other times, especially when not started for a few hours, it doesn’t start until I give it a lot of fuel. It does this only when the engine is cold but when hot it starts immediately. I changed the cambelt, v belts, fuel filter, oil filter, air filter, plugs and even added injector cleaner. Please can anyone help? (auto 1.6)

So my Ford Fiesta Zetec has been parked on my driveway for a few hours and I wanted to move it. When I started the ignition it seemed jumpy like it was going to cut out and the digital clock on the dashboard went funny too, so I switched it back off and started it again and it seemed okay. It seems to make a loud noise when I first start it but after driving a while it’s okay. Can anyone tell me what’s happening please? I’m confused as to why it went all jumpy?

I have a Ford Fiesta 2002 model. The water light on the dashboard flickers on and off and then the needle on the water dial goes below the normal mark. I am not sure if the two are related but I now have a puddle of water form in the driver side footwell? I have read other forums and they have suggested cleaning the drain holes. Has anybody had the same problem or can you shed any light on the solution?

I experience what feels like a loss of power in my Ford Fiesta after about 4 minutes into my drive, the car shudders and feels like it`s stalling or if I’m driving in the wrong gear. No matter how hard I put my foot on the accelerator it doesn’t feel like it`s going anywhere. It can happen pulling off at a junction or changing from second to third gear. After it doing that for about 10-20 seconds it stops and drives normally again. Could this be something to do with the engine not warming up correctly? (Flame)

Hi. I have a 2005 model Ford Fiesta ST and when it`s left stationary for too long my petrol light comes on and the fuel gauge then flashes? Also the fuel bar indicates a lot less fuel than is actually in the car. Are these common faults and if so how do I rectify them? Thanks. (ST)

My Ford Fiesta`s cooling fan has been coming on while driving and staying on for approx 5minutes after I turn the car off. I recently went for a long road trip and it had been fine before this for the odd trip to the shops. Now it`s doing it even on short trips. It is chewing through a lot of anti freeze in the last week but the temperature gauge has never gone above normal in the middle. I can`t see any leaks anywhere so am not sure what it could be? After about 200 miles my Ford Fiesta has used about 1ltr of water. There`s no sign of a leak, no water bubbles in the oil and the oil`s still on the mark after stopping the engine for about 5 minutes. There is no pressure when the header tank top is taken off. Any thoughts please? (cdti)
My wife has a 2006 Ford Fiesta and there is a design problem with the thermostat housing which leaks. The housing is made of plastic and I believe it moves, which eventually damages the associated O ring causing leaks. You need to change the housing and O ring because the former is probably distorted. The housing is not easy to get at being under the alternator. You also have to move some air con parts if that is fitted. - Ray Smith from Cheshire

My Ford Fiesta quite recently started to cut out when I`m in reverse, even though I know I have the clutch down so I`m bemused as to why this happens,. I have also noticed occasionally when going round bends at low speed it sometimes half cuts out, making the steering go stiff briefly before returning to normal. I can see the battery light flashes as this occurs again as if the car was being stalled. Could this be the clutch on the way out or is there something else I should be looking at changing? (ST)

Recently when I`ve been driving my Ford Fiesta the dash has been flashing orange with "please see driver`s guide". I lose some power to the car and have to turn off the engine. This has happened 3 or 4 times now and when I try to switch the engine on it takes 2 to 3 attempts for it to start. I have been to the garage and had readings done but nothing is showing up. Any ideas what it could be?

I have a Ford Fiesta 2007 1.4. I have just changed the wheel bearings both rear and front cause at Ford they told me the bearings were worn after changing still making the same noise. I had them checked they said the bearings are fine, but the noise is still there, don’t know what to do now. What else could it be?
I have exactly the same problem and cannot find out what it is... can you post the solution if you find out please. Thanks - Sam Jay from Cardiff
It could be the drive shaft bearing in the gear box, this makes a wheel bearing noise and often changes when turning corners due to pressure change on the shaft. - Ben from England

The key fob for my Ford Fiesta Flame works fine for locking and unlocking the doors but won’t unlock the boot. The boot release button inside the car doesn’t work either. It’s been looked over by mechanics a few times now and they’re stumped. They’ve changed the battery in the fob and replaced the boot cable but nothing seems to be working. Any idea what the problem could be?

I have an 07 Ford Fiesta Zetec S 1.6 TDCI. After turning my ignition off and on again repeatedly (3x) in relatively quick succession whilst trying to find out where a rattle was coming from, my engine cooling fan would not turn off when the engine was turned off. I then tried to start the engine again and there was nothing. All the usual dash lights came on as normal but there was no ticking noise coming from the starter motor and no noise at all from the engine. I disconnected the fan to save the battery and checked to see if it had plenty of juice, which it did. I then started to think it could be an immobiliser issue but all seems fine there, all fuses seem fine and it remains a mystery as to why it will not start. I have had it checked over by the AA who have told me it looks like a computer fault and that the fault lies somewhere between the ignition and the starter motor ,as the starter motor is not getting any drive. Has anyone had a similar problem or can anyone shed any more light on what the cause could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Zetec S)

My 1.6 tdi Ford Fiesta has recently been chugging a bit when I start it. I always warm the coils b4 starting and have tried injector cleaner also. It’s warm this time of year so shouldn’t be cold. It’s fine after being driven for 10 minutes or so. Why is this?

Has anyone else experienced a loss of power in their Ford Fiesta when pulling away? I have noticed it turning to the left a bit uphill in second gear and the car will almost feel like you`ve stalled it. At times I`ve noticed a shudder, as if you are in the wrong gear. Sometimes I am afraid to afraid to pull away in front of oncoming traffic and I`d rather not risk an accident so have to wait. Does anybody know why it should be doing this please? (1.0 litre EcoBoost)
Mine has been doing the same as you have described. And mine is a 1400. I have just recently been told my Brake caliper was sticking, so maybe yours is too. check your wheels after driving to see if any are really too hot, because it seems thats what happens. - Annemarie from Scotland
