My wife was driving this morning when the car beeped and displayed engine fault ,from that time on the car lost power and would only go at 16mph .she limped home and I got a mechanic out to look at it it ran a computer diagnostic which told him the throttle was not aligned. He cleaned the sensor which seemed to cure the problem I am worried that this is only a quick fix and would like any advice as to what I should be looking at before taking it to dealership. I have read on the forum about soldering the connected in the glove box but any advice would be greatly appreciated. The mechanic also called the Citroen re the sensor but the said that they never had to order that particular sensor. Help please as my wife wants me to buy a new car I cannot afford that, any ideas!!!!!!!!!!It's a petrol 55 plate 1.6 but theirs no sub catogery for my car Thanks in advance

Sorry mate - no answer, but exactly the same problem. Even the bit about the wife! Made us laugh when I read your question out loud. I'm pretty clueless car wise. Car will start - just - with plenty of revving. Had a look at the oil level because car sounds 'dry' when it can be started. Oil level indicator has oil all the way up but on closer inspection, and from looking in the oil reservoir itself, oil looks 'sludgy'. Am I hallucinating an explanation for my problem? Any help appreciated. Neil from North Lanarkshire

Same happening to my picasso, and although I cannot put my finger on what causes this, it seems to happen during very cold/snow weather. It may be an earthing problem, my picasso is 10yrs old; is this same with you? Also, seems to have affected breaking lights -causing them to flicker. Have you been able to resolve this? Regards, Philip Tausney from City of Glasgow

Can you tell me why my heater blower has stopped working and where is the blower situated in the car

Answers

Hi I had the same problem, my fan heater stopped working. To have it replaced cost few hundred pounds. So I read up and found out if you get a bit off wire about 6 inches long and go to the fuse under the steering wheel And take the fuse out for the fan blower, push one end off Wire in the slot and put the fuse back. Then with the other End off the wire connect it to the live wire to the Ignition. Your fan will now work. You just need to Remember when you turn the car off you have to turn The fan off yourself. Hi. My 2001 Picasso was fine driving to the hospital on Wednesday. Parked up for six hours and when I came back to it to go home it had a loud rattling noise from when it was restarted. It sounds like a fan is smacking against something in there. Just confused as it was fine going there and still runs normally aside from this horrible noise. Any help would be appreciated before I have to take it in.

Does anybody know how to release the glass from the rear door window on a Citroen Picasso. I'm struggling to understand how the yellow bracket is removed from the small hole on the glass. I dare not be forceful with the bracket as it looks as if the glass will crack. It looks as if a simple method will allow me to release the glass but for the life in me I can't figure it out.

Hello, Depending on the year of your Pic, it sounds like the crankshaft pulley is on its way out. The pulley is bonded between a layer of rubber which acts as a vibration damper. Some people have them welded, but I recommend replacing with new. Ask your local mechanic to check it for you. Its quite a common issue. Lloyd Gray from Cornwall

I have just bought this car and changed the factory radio CD player for an Sony MEX-N6000BD. No problems intalling it, works fine, set all my radio stations and settings. The problem is that when the ignition is off and I come back to the car and turn the radio back on, all my saved station and settings have been wiped clear. There is power going to the unit. When the drivers door is opened the display turns on. The problem seems to be not a continuous power supply to the radio when the ignition is off. Any ideas?

Is there a high beam on the xsara Picasso? Because the low and high beam symbol are on the same level on the switch. When I try to put the high the low beam symbol appears dashboard. So slightly confused.

Answers

Hi, I have 2 Citroen Xsara Picasso cars, both of them have indicator lights for low and high beam, the low beam is green and the high beam is blue. There is also an indicator light for sidelights. The high beam is operated by pushing the light stalk away from you and cancelled by pulling it back towards you.Hugh Bishton from Lancashire

my heater only works on no4 setting what do I need to fix the problem

Answers

Sounds like a faulty switch. Unlikely to be the heater blower itself. Ged from Hertfordshire

Most likely the resistors that cause the fan speed to vary have gone open-circuit (blown). You could get a replacement resistor pack cheaply from a breakers yard. I cannot find any information in the Haynes manual on the resistor pack location but it should be behind the heater control panel or near the motor which is accessible once the lower section is removed of the centre console. Hi, my headlights and side lights right front side stopped working. I took them to a garage to replace. When I now turn them on they work but are dull and fall too short for me to see far in front of me. I have tried the adjust wheel on the dash to the right of the steering column which works but does not lengthen the fall. There are also 2 buttons one with a large headlight and one with a small head light which don,t seem to do anything. Does anyone know what is wrong. Have the bulbs been wrongly adjusted when replaced?

hi most of the time when I start the car I get a sound like a bell ,like a loud ding alarm sound does any one know what it is please.

Answers

Hi Colin, I have the same problem and can't find any mention of it in the manual. I notice there are some wires on the side of the power steering pump so I topped up the fluid level and so far it seems to have done the trick. The gong sound that I hear is the same as the over speed warning gong. If all else fails you can try to reboot the system by disconnecting the battery for a short time. John from Cornwall
