I hope someone can help. I bought my first Xsara yesterday and when I stopped to fuel up, I couldn't get the fuel nozzle in all the way in. Only the about an inch would go in and then stop. I had a look inside the pipe and there's a flat copper piece that sticks out which I suspect is causing the problem. I pushed it back in but it is springy so just pops out again. I have never looked into a fuel tank before and don't know what it's supposed to look like. I managed to put fuel in but had to do it slowly so as not to spill any. If you can decipher any of what I've said and know what the issue is, I would appreciate some feedback please.

I can't turn off the childlock system. I've read the manual and followed instructions. The procedure doesn't work because instead of clicking once to the OFF position (turning from red to black) it will only click twice; therefore remaining switched ON. Is there a wire or fuse which I can remove to disable ONLY the childlock system and still have the rear doors responding to central locking?

Hi, I have a Citroen Xsara 2003, when I am driving I can hear a rattling noise front passenger side. At first I thought the exhaust was loose (that`s what it sounds like). My local garage said it`s nothing. Sometimes I have to take my foot off the accelerator then it`s okay for 10 mins or so. I had a new power steering rack, all new brakes, am at a loss? Thanks

drivers side electric window goes up &down but then goes down halfway on its own accord.

Answers

All Picasso electric windows, (and sun=roof) have sensors which will reverse the motor automatically near the close position. This stops fingers (and toddler's heads and necks being trapped). If the sensor is a bit old, or well used (as in drivers door) it becomes sensitive and reverses the 'up' signal even when the glass is well down. Just lower the glass fully then push the up button. It should travel to fully closed. Any problems worse than this is a replacement sensor mechanism. Philip Parsons from East Riding of Yorkshire

Having parked the car over night having had no problem with starting the engine. The car will not start today. All the dash lights work and the electric windows work fine. The fob locks and unlocks the car but it seems like there is not enough power in the battery to turn the engine over, it will start from jump leads or a bump. The battery is a sealed type and it is showing green in the sight glass. The only fault I can find is with the light indicator flashing on the dash if I indicate left it turns the lights off, however if the lights are actually turned on this does not happen. I hope someone can help. Thanks Terry ps the car is 2004

Hi, I recently purchased a 2003 Citroen Xsara LX hatchback and I have noticed that the mileage gauge and trip meter are incrementing in kilometres and not miles. My speedometer gauge states MPH at the top, so it is a UK car, but clocking up in kilometres will make the car appear to have a much higher mileage than it should have. Is there a way to switch from incrementing in kilometres to incrementing in miles? or do I have to get the on-board computer re-programmed by a Citroen main dealer? The end of the windscreen wiper stalk does not toggle between kilometres and miles as I believe it may do on later Xsara versions. Any suggestions please and if I do manage to switch to miles will my mileage gauge counter go down to reflect the change ? Thanks in anticipation
