Hi I have 2007 Citroen C4Grand Picasso sx1.8i petrol it has no fog lights my question is are they already pre-wired? if not is it difficult to fit a set of front fog lights? Kind Regards Roy
There should be two sets of lights fitted only as an optional extra, on the bumper you will find two circles and behind the bumper there may be wiring to enable you to fit your own pair from Citroen but they are expensive, realistically i have found fog lights not much help as when the fog lights are on the Main Beam cannot come on.and the Fog light beam is only showing a few metres of kerb and the road infront of the Car only of use driving at about 15 miles an hour. Remote control battery flat comes up on the dashboard, however my key fob works ok. Any idea why?

The wipers on my Citroen Grand C4 Picasso failed, the passenger side will stop halfway resulting in the driver`s side one hitting it. This continued every so often until the passenger side blade stopped altogether. I replaced the motors but still have the same problem. Is it an issue with the ECU or something? If so how do I fix it? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I have just purchased a Citroen Grand C4 Picasso EGS exclusive. My question is, can anyone tell me what the noise is (sonds a bit like a fridge charging) when I put the key into the ignition and turn it to the on position? It only happens now and then and the car starts and drives fine. Many thanks. (exclusive)
It’s probably the gearbox resetting, mine does the same. It appears to go through reverse and then into neutral. G T from England
It is probably the automatic suspension system sound, balancing and adjusting. This is quite normal, more so if you have adjustable rear suspension to lower the rear of the car, for loading. George Wells from Durham

I have a new Citroen Grand C4 Picasso 2013 version. Excellent car, my first Citroen. When the motorised tailgate closes there is a loud bleeping sound, for safety. Does anyone know how to turn the sound off? It is too loud early in the morning. Thank you. (exclusive +)

I drove my Citroen Grand C4 Picasso this morning with no problems, I got in it to come home and the car won’t start. It says "parking brake faulty" on the dash and it makes a lot of beeping noises but will not start? What`s wrong?

My Citroen Grand C4 Picasso jammer has just started switching its lights on automatically when the car is locked and the ignition off. I keep pressing the centre button on the key fob to switch them off again, but after about 17 seconds they’re back on again. Has this been seen by anyone and is there a work-around? I fully intend on getting rid of this car asap but need to get around in it for the moment unfortunately. (VTR+)

My Citroen Grand C4 Picasso`s boot won’t lock. I have removed the battery in the key fob and it still won’t lock. I can push the lock myself and it goes into the lock position but then when I press the button outside the car it unlocks it. Can anyone help please?

Does anyone know of a way to release the parking brake for the Citroen C4 Grand Picasso when the battery is dead? My battery is dead, but my car is a place where I can’t easily connect jump cables (although I could push the car to a more convenient location if I could release the brake). On the passenger footwell there’s a cap, remove it. Then behind the driver’s seat , under the floor there’s a winder, use this to remove the brake when the car is dead as the answer above won’t work, trust me I’ve been there. Gary from England

I used my Citroen Grand C4 Picasso the other day and it wouldn`t start at first but after a few tries it fired up. I left it running when I went to the shops but while it was there the parking faulty warning message came up. When I tried to reverse out the automatic handbrake would not come off so I had to turn the engine off and tuen it on again. The handbrake then worked but the anti polllution warning light came on. Do you think I need to take it for a diagnostics check and any idea what it may be and how much? Many thanks. (anti pollution warning light)

Please help! I have had a number of fault lights appearing over the las few months on my Citroen Grand C4 Picasso but with no obvious problems. All were cleared witn a recent service. Today whilst driving the car dashboard suddenly beeped, the eps warning flickered on/off and the car jolted and shuddered to an almost stall stop? It felt as if the brakes were being applied but I`m not sure if it was the handbrake or regular brakes? Can anyone shed any light on this? (petrol).
The car has sensed a fault and gone into limp mode, as part of that process it reduces power to get you home; it is quite a shock when you are going quickly and it happens. Not your engine’s fault, but on mine it was the depolution filter and handbrake error when overtaking a line of traffic. It felt like the brakes had been applied hard. I was lucky in that turning on and off the engine and the engine was ok again. (not really, de-polution filter still needs sorting). Graham Monaghan from Durham

Can someone please tell me the difference between the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso VTR ’plus’ model and VTR + model. I was reading that the latter was just a small upgrade around the end of 2010 to include a few small new features, but essentially they are the same - is this correct?

I bought a Citroen Grand C4 Picasso in March. A couple of times now I can smell a burning rubber smell coming from the driver`s side rear wheel arch. I have taken it back to the main dealer and they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Has anybody got any ideas? (1.6 egs)
Hello, I had a similar problem and it turned out it was the emergency break not releasing the rear brake pad properly for some reason. The dealer said there was no problem, then I brought it to a private mechanic and he found the probable cause. Every time I sense the smell I stop and engage and disengage the e-break and all is good. Not fun but a does the job. Dimiter Nikolov from Bulgaria

My Citroen Grand C4 Picasso drives as if it is holding back as it changes gear, especially at low speeds on pulling away. It doesn’t cut out and drives well. I have not had the car long and I need to know if this is a fault, as there are no warnings and a diagnostic has not shown anything up. When it rains I get a build up of water under the bonnet of my Citroen Grand C4 Picasso. It sloshes around and hits the heater fan. I can`t make out how it`s getting in! Any ideas?
Our c4gp had\has the same issue. It is apparently due to a blocked drain behind the dashboard which neads to be cleared out to allow the water out. Daniel Chandler from England
Jack up front... remove wheels and partly remove the inner liner... reach up inside and remove rubber pipe; they are sort off bent down and square and will be full of rubbish. Wash them out then hose out the from the top to flush more crap. Replace everything... Job done Mervyn Lamacraft from Devon

The piece of plastic bodywork that runs across the tailgate on my Grand C4 Picasso has stopped staying in place. This is the piece that houses the tailgate opening switch and number plate lights. Does anyone know what the piece is called so I can replace it?
Same issue on my 2007. I took the inside boot panel off and then placed a nut on the cone of the boot release switch and then drilled through the plastic strip and fixed it to the car with 2 fancy coach bolts that I painted to match the colour of the car. The strip is now far and away stronger than it was originally and you can hardly even notice the repair. If you want more info please feel free to drop me a line firstname.lastname@example.org. I have had my Citroen Grand C4 Picasso for a year and a half. From 3 months after I bought it (unfortunately just out of warranty) the car has been cutting out or not starting. At first the cutting out happened now and again but now it is almost daily and can even happen up to ten times in a day literally! It throws up random computer messages like "anti pollution system failure" or " parking brake faulty" " air bag" etc etc then the car cuts out. There is no warning and this can be incredibly dangerous as it can happen anywhere at any time. I have been on the fast lane on a motorway or in rain and fog , at junctions or roundabouts. It is not just embarrassing but putting me and my family in a perilous situation. I have had the fuel filter changed, fuel emptied and refilled with premium fuel. Citroen put it on a diagnostic check and it always reads nothing wrong! A friend mechanic says that is because it resets the computer after the car restarts. I don’t know how I am going to get this sorted as no-one can figure it out. Has anyone had this problem and got to the bottom of it? I am seriously desperate for help, thanks. (Grand Picasso 1.8 vtr+)
Hi Rebecca, We had the same issue on our C4 Grand Picasso. Same fault as you described. Took it to several garages and no-one could diagnose the problem. Ended up taking it to Chevronics in Hitchin and the problem turned out to be a faulty fuse box. Total repair bill with diagnostics was under £250. Can’t recommend them highly enough. We have had the car back now for 2 months since it was repaired and no faults. Amish from Hertfordshire
I am having the same problem with my C4grand picasso diesel. Same messages and cutting out. My local garage could find nothing wrong, but also pointed out that with an intermittent fault turning off the ignition and then back on cancels the computer. My Citroen Grand C4 Picasso has been losing water through the coolant valve. Since that has been repaired the heaters take time to heat up and the fan is still running when the engine is switched off. Can anyone help please? (mpv)

We bought a 2008 Citroen Grand C4 Picasso 1.8L and have had it looked at by two garages (thoroughly by a dealer) for the following problem: every few hundred kilometres and just every now and then, one or both of the rear brakes begins to hum, sing or moan. Usually if you pull off the road for a short pause it stops and doesn’t return. The discs do get warm. The general impression is that it might be dirt or corrosion. I think it could also be something forward of the brake assembly or an abs sensor. Any ideas before I contact the dealer-garage again? Thanks in advance. (1.8)

After long journeys or when the engine is warm, my Citroen Grand C4 Picasso`s engine needs 5 or 6 attempts to start. It turns over fine, it just doesn’t start. It still drives fine and starts fine from cold. Any ideas? (1.6 HDI VTR+)
We are having the same problem with our Citroen Grand C4 Picasso. We have been to 4 different repair shops and after running a diagnostic, they say nothing is wrong with the car. But yet, there are times with the car will not start. This started to happen this fall, and have owned the car for three years. Have you found a solution? One person told me to wait longer before turning key in ignition. Other thing is that we hear a clicking noise when turning on the car. Hi. I have a problem with my Bluetooth. I am connected but it’s showing no phone connected and when I go in to its menu it does not give you the option to do anything with it you can press all buttons and nothing happens?

I have a Citroen Grand C4 Picasso 2007 automatic and the boot won’t open, no matter what I do. It is remote locking and all the other doors open fine! Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?
This is almost certainly a broken micro switch that is pushed when the boot handle is pulled. You can search forums for how to replace it yourself - you need a torque key set and a 10mm spanner and 30 mins. You can only get replacement switches from Citroen so prepare to be ripped off at around £35 for something that should cost ten times less. And be warned, the boot handle assembly wears away ever so slightly and replacement micro switches tend not to last long. Be very careful when removing the plastic bar that holds the boot handle (after removing all the bolts) as the whole thing is very flimsy and there is a good chance bits will be broken. The whole thing is badly designed and not really fit for purpose. Citroen must know about this as if you ask the person that you buy the micro switch from, they will tell you that they sell loads of them. Shame on Citroen for not recalling a common problem. Yes, similar problem except my boot would open when unlocking the doors and boot!! Called the main dealer and said would have to plug into a diagnostic to show fault (50 euro). Opened switch myself to find micro switch had broken. Possible cause is hinge on handle wearing. Placed some glue to keep handle push back and it now allows for to make conact with pin on micro switch perfectly, whereas previous it made contact to side and then eventually slipped down side of pin. Perhaps a small cable tie might do the same after drilling a hole. Switch cost 34.76 euros. Plastic strip holding in handle very poor, care needed. Can see myself going to work on this in the future Joe O’Brien from Ireland

Hi, I have an ’08 Citroen Grand C4 Picasso. When driving in automatic mode, from first gear to second and second to third the car is very loud. From third to fourth and fourth to fifth it sounds normal. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? Regards and thanks. (vtr+)

I’ve just brought a Citroen Grand C4 Picasso vtr+ 58 plate. When I unlock my doors the boot automatically opens. I have it set as driver`s door only at the minute but like I said when I unlock all doors the boot opens. Also if I open any door from the inside after I’ve been out in the car, once I’ve parked up and get out when I open a door the boot opens too. How can I stop this happening? Should it happen or could there be a fault? I would be grateful if anyone could help. (Grand Picasso vtr+)
This can be a faulty microswitch in the boot handle assembly. You can test it by looking at one of the guides to replace the switch. Simply unplug it rather than remove it and see if the boot still opens. If it stays closed (you will need to use the emergency boot release from inside the boot) then it’s almost certainly the micro switch. Just google to see how many reports there are of faults with the lot looking assembly and micro switch. Steve from Warwickshire

Hi. Whilst driving on the M1 northbound my Citroen Grand C4 Picasso`s display indicated the heat symbol and STOP. I stopped and checked everything that the manual says to check about heating and found that there was nothing out of the ordinary, ie coolant level was okay, no leaks and engine wasn`t overheated. When I eventually approached a service area I phoned my breakdown provider and after checking they concluded that all seemed okay and the only problem could be the sensor. I reiterate that the engine is not overheating because I am able to touch the water hoses and it is not extremely hot. Currently after a short distance of driving the fan comes on and sometimes the heat symbol displays. Is this common with these MPV’S? Can anyone help me? (1.6 vtr+ petrol)

My Citroen Grand C4 Picasso is currently at the local Citroen dealer in a dismantled state. The informed fault with the gearbox is input and output shaft bearings. Dismantling was required for the engineer to inspect it to see if the warranty company will cover the cost. Warranty Wise now say it`s not covered as it is normal wear and tear. The car has only covered 58,000 miles and I consider this to be premature wear. I would be interested in any opinions. Any suggestions? (2.0 HDI exclusive EGS)

I have been advised that my Citroen Grand C4 Picasso has a slight leak from a seal from one of the diesel injectors (4). I have been told that they really need to do a lot of work in order that no contamination gets into the system and have been quoted £650. Could anyone advise me if they think this is a fair price? Thank you.

Hi. I have just purchased a 59 reg Citroen Grand Picasso VTR + 1.6 automatic. On journeys longer than 10 minutes when going from third to fourth gear, the car beeps and the service light comes on constantly and the screen says ’info engine fault’. It seemed to drive perfectly until today when it got stuck in third gear, so I had to switch to manual to get into fourth and then it worked fine again. Any ideas? Thanks.
Hi, had my 2010 C4 in for the same fault, the garage said the car needs to drive over 2500 revs for about 10 miles to burn off the carbon build up, and this should stop this fault. The car should not only be driven on small runs, that it needs a good long run from time to time, to stop this service light coming on. Regards Christopher Payne from Ireland
My C4 gp has this funny behavior too. When engine is cold, every morning, or cold day in the rain without driving. While I drive, first to sec fine. Then sec to third, if I ram too hard, beep, engine fault, service light and gear stuck at D3. This remains until I switch off engine and re-start. Again if I ram up, it will give same error. I have to maintain D3 at below 3k rpm for about 10 min. Then everything is fine. Why? Citroen asked me to change the whole engine! Cost me $6k! And my car is just 3 yrs old! Is it easy enough to replace a wing mirror on the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso? I’ve been searching the web but can only find answers for the C4 and it all seems different?
Not easy, in fact difficult. Need to remove switch unit and unscrew handle. Remove two screws on edge of door and lift off door trim. Remove trim on mirror to access two bolts. Remove the bolts. You now have a cable that goes from outside the door to inside the door with no access. Release from the connectors.There is a grommet on the inside where the wire goes through the door panel. Inside the door is a clip which is inaccessible which holds the cable in place. There is also a self locking clip. Tie string to the switch connector and carefully pull the cable loom from the outside. Make sure you note where the cable was routed. You can now take the new mirror which usually comes complete with cable and do the reverse. Use the string to pull the cable Back through. There is no access other than through the mirror mounting hole on the outside and the grommet hole on the inside. You now have to try to reinstall the cable into the fittings. I used string to pull in the self locking clip and struggled for ages with the grommet. Easier to pull it through the push it back into place. You may have problems routing the cable to avoid the window movement. Trial and error Peter from Wiltshire
