Anyone able to shed any light on a locking problem with a 2007 Dispatch? The key fob won't operate the central locking as the drivers door is sensing it is still open despite being firmly shut. Have tried WD40 up inside the lock and half a can of air duster but to no avail. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi, been having problems with my wipers on my dispatch, It started with a clunking noise under the bonnet, then wipers struggled to move across screen, then they stopped working but would just judder all the time when parked, I would lock the van and they would still be juddering then they would stop, when I unlock the van the wipers would start clunking again. The wipers would work the odd time but really slowly make their way across the screen sometimes stopping half way. I've just change the motor they still don't work, they just jerk a little when I turn them on, think their even worse now. Anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks in advance Phil.

Answers

In case anyone else has had this wiper problem which I mentioned on my last post I though I would post what the problem was. It was the wiper mechanism ie the part that the wipers fix too, I removed this from the van to find one part of it(drivers side) was totally seized up. Normally this would be easy to take apart but as it was seized I soaked in oil for a while then got it in the vice and got the hammer out, this did the trick, I cleaned it up and give it a generous dollop of grease and put it together again problem solved or so I thought... I had to hit it that hard the end of the bolt which I had to hit to get it apart is bent out of shape so vans all back together now but my nut won't go on to hold the wiper on arrrrggghh, I'm going to try and cut this bit off tomorrow and keep my fingers crossed I still have enough thread to get the bolt on. Regards Phil Phil from Greater Manchester

My 1.6 HDI Starter playing up last week. at first it wouldn't turn over until the 3rd or 4th turn of the key, then it worked fine for a couple of days but now it wont turn over at all, had to bump start it to get it home, there is a little warning light on now and it looks like a mobile phone or maybe more like the android symbol with 2 little lines where its ears would be, in anticipation of your help I thank you.

Hi, my 2011 Citroen Dispatch had a fuel pump replaced at a local garage, now it won`t idle after starting. Seems fine when running through all gears. The garage are now saying it could be the new pump I supplied (recon pump) and after sending this off for testing (against my wishes) it seems nothing is wrong. I questioned the original decision with the fuel pump as I have had severe issues with the EGR valve, and after the new pump was fitted (again without listening to me) it turns out the EGR was in fact faulty. Was told by mechanic that the pump was definately goosed and it would be fine after he installed a new one. I`m not sure what to do now, I have lost confidence in this garage and the bill seems to be increasing drastically now as he`s faffing around trying to resolve the issue. Does anyone have any clues please? Thanks

My lights and wipers come on randomly when the engine is off. I can lock the van up, sometimes after 1 min or it can be several hours it all starts. I have to disconnect the battery every time I leave the van. This all started when I pulled up at the side of the road, turned my ignition off and when I started the van back up I had lost power steering. After disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it was ok, then all the fun started. Please can anybody help?

Answers

I used to have a company Berlingo van that did the same, apparently the garage replaced a body control module mounted in the side of the footwell. A grommet leaks rainwater through the bodywork onto it causing lights to stick on etc.... mine used to flatten the battery. I don't know if the Dispatch is the same but worth a look! My next door neighbour has an 08 Dispatch. He's just told me that since the van went in for an MoT, the odometer reading has gone crazy, rocketing from 60,000 to 120,000+ miles. Sounds like something was disturbed during the MoT. Is this likely to be a sensor connection problem or has the speedo-head coincidentally developed a fault. What's a new speedo cost ?.

Answers

The odometer has probably been changed from miles to kilometers. It can be adjusted between both by the controls on the radio if you go through the options. I think it's because it is a french car the auto default is set to kilometers and is changed to miles for the GB market. ezra from Cardiff

Many thanks Ezra from Cardiff for your reply, that was indeed the correct answer. My neighbour told me that he has since taken the van to a Citroen dealer, who did something with the controls in the area of the radio and rectified the problem. The Citroen man said that all the settings were wrong, the suspicion being that the mechanic at the 'we service all makes' local garage wanted some music while he worked, fiddled with the controls not knowing what he was doing and in the process screwed up the odometer. Strangely, the actual speed indication was still correct in mph. On returning to the original garage where the fault had appeared to complain about it, they denied all knowledge of it and said it couldn't possibly have happened there. Hmmmm. Cheers. I've just discovered this ssme issue. reservoir seems to be over pressurising when reservoir cap closed and engine running. Did you find out what was causing it? I'm trying to figure out if it's just a faulty cap not regulating the pressure or if it's the more terminal blown head gasket releasing combustion gases into coolant system. my van is currently in the middle of a field and un-driveable so it's pretty difficult to get any test done on the system. Any help appreciated. Martin GB from Hampshire

Can anyone help? I have a 2009 Citroën Dispatch van. The rear passenger indicator is not working. After changing the bulb, it appears the blue indicator wire is dead. Does anyone know if the fuses for these are run separate as this is all I am hoping it could be. The wires haven't been disturbed to break the loom. Also where is the fuse located in the box under the steering wheel or under the bonnet? Thanks for any help available
