Hi. My Citroen C8 never seems to warm up, even after driving 20 miles the heater is only delivering tepid air. I think I need to change the thermostat. Can anyone advise me of the ease or difficulty I might encounter and is it a DIY job? I’ve changed stats on other cars but I know very little about this one. Thanks. (2.0 petrol)

Hi. I have a Citroen C8, bought 2nd hand in 2010. It came fully serviced but during colder months, when I turn the car on and pull off the STOP light starts flashing and beeping and on the computer screen it says the engine coolant temperature is too high. The car has been filled. I just wondered if it is a technical fault or whether it is a more serious problem... All advice appreciated because I am completely clueless!

Hi, sounds like the thermostat is damaged or seized giving a false reading. A new one is cheap to buy if you’re fitting it yourself. If not, you’re looking about £80 from a garage - Craig Cooke from Cambridgeshire

For a few weeks my Citroen C8 would only start on easystart. I have been told the injectors have seized. Driving home today the car wouldn’t rev past 3,000 when I was driving. Does anyone know why? Thanks. (diesel)
Answers
Not sure about the need for easystart but the 3000 revs issue sounds like the ceramic filter blocked on the exhaust and ’crippling’ the performance until the issue is remedied (odd/expensive system that adds treatments (£35/litre !!!) to the fuel tank to burn off the soot in the exhaust filter. I have 2 x C8 2.2 HDIs and one of them is giving dash warnings intermittently about antipollution fault and lately additive low. If it is related to the exhaust, you should be getting annoying dash warning messages and bleeps - David from Oxfordshire

My Citroen C8’s fuel gauge needle was reading under 1/4 of a tank, the range computor said 88 miles. I put fuel in, then when I re-started the engine, the gauge read less than 1/4 and the range was 44 miles. I’m confused, can anyone enlighten me as to what the problem might be?

The boot is stuck on my Citroen C8. Anyone know how to fix it?
Answers
Take the door card off from in side the car it’s a bit of a pain but it can be done. Then have a look at the door mec, there’s a little micro switch. That will be faulty but you can open the door by pull / pushing the door mec. Hope this helps - Ady Jones from Lancashire

Is there a quick way to change the air filter on a Citroen C8? It sits way back in the engine compartment and is very hard to get back screws out of the cover. Then, when all screws are out, I can’t lift the top cover high enough to get filter out. Can anyone help? Many thanks.
Answers
Hi, the best and by far easiest way to change the air filter is to just remove the complete filter box and change it away from the car. It can be done with the box on the car but a little fiddly. Hope this helps - Neil Smith from England

I don’t have a manual for my Citroen C8 - can anyone tell me where the engine coolant goes?
Answers
Stephen, looking at the engine compartment from the front, there are three filler caps on the left. The leftmost one with a blue cap is the windscreen washer bottle. The one on the plastic tank just under the windscreen is the coolant (marked max/min) and the cap is marked with a warning triangle showing an exclamation mark and a book. Never open the cap until the engine has cooled down for at least 15 minutes - Robin Lucas from Essex

Hi, on my automatic Citroen C8 I have a problem with the gear selector not engaging in Park position, ever since I have turned off engine when stopped in Drive position. Have tried detaching battery leads and waiting 10 minutes then re-attaching with ignition on.., it still won’t do it though. Car starts in neutral and works through all the gears perfectly... Have been told that taking out the Dump fuse, waiting for the computer to clear, might solve. HOWEVER... Big problem firstly in identifying and then finding where this fuse is on the C8. Any help or further suggestions woukd be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know how to deactiveate the automatic wiper blades? Also, the battery is dead in the keypad and when starting the car sometimes comes up with immobilizer fault... but starts after a few times. Do I have to reprogramme the key pad after I get a new battery in keypad? Thank you in advance for any help/advice offered.

To deactivate the automatic windscreen wiper blades, just push the switch/lever up once into the single blade use mode, and then release - Mary Porter from England
