My Citroen C4 Coupe was all good until I had the engine oil changed and the filter by Citroen. They put 5 30 full s oil in but since then it sounds a bit grumbly or is it just me and they all sound like that?

Hi, my Citroen C4 Coupe’s boot sensor has broken and I can’t open the boot to replace it. Any ideas please?
Answers
Climb inside the boot and on the reverse side of the boot lock locate a small hole to the left. Using a very small screwdriver push to the left inside this hole and this will release the boot catch and the boot will open from the outside - Alexia Watson from Cambridgeshire

My Citroen C4 Coupe driver’s seat is loose. It seems to be under the frame when I jack up the seat. There is play in the bracket like there is a bit missing. How will I fix it? 4 screws that hold frame to car are tight.

I have a Citroen C4 1.4 Coupe and when cold there is a shaking noise and shake. When warmed up it’s okay. Could it be a faulty injector?

The cold weather is here again and in the mornings I start the C4 Coupe up, to defrost the windows and heat the car up, before going to work. After a few minutes it just dies and will not start again. The electrics are OK and if I turn the key to try and start the engine it tries to start but won’t. Has anybody any ideas what this problem is?

On my Citroen C4 Coupe, I have a tapping noise in the engine. A mechanic said not to worry about it as some do do this. Any idea on this please? (1.6-litre coupe)

The electrics are okay and if I turn the key to try and start the engine, it tries to start but won’t. After leaving the car for a good hour, off it goes, this only happens if there’s frosty weather. When I press the brake pedal, the brake lights do not come on. All the bulbs are okay. Why is this so?

Faulty brake light switch. Break/corrosion in the wiring harness, blown fuse. Could be one or all of the above - James Donohoe from Lanarkshire
Mine was the breaklight switch on my Xsara under break pedal cost £10, it won’t be a fuse if you got lights check fuse for brake lights and if something else is on that fuse and it works, it probably is the switch - Nick Vickery from Monmouthshire

Hi, passenger window goes down only when I pull up at drivers door. I have to close it from the passenger door. Sometimes it works correctly. Has anyone else experienced this?
Answers
Hi Adrian, this has happened to me a few times. I’ve found that when I open and close the driver’s door the problem is sorted. The reason this happens is simple, the connectors on the door sometimes gather a lot of dust and grime which causes a break in the connection. Hope that helps others - Matthew Maycock from Caerphilly

Hi, I have a C4 coupe which I’m having some problems with. The rear tailgate won’t open, I’ve had a new switch fitted, still won’t work, tried fuses, everything. Now the STOP warning light has started to come on and low oil pressure warning, but says oil is OK on start up. Can someone please help? (vtr+)
Answers
Have you had the wiring harness in the tailgate replaced? I was gonna pay for mine doing but didn’t. It’s a fault with the harness. Citroen got in touch with me and did it for free - safety recall on certain model numbers. Google ’Citroen wiring harness safety recall’ - Martin Todhunter from Yorkshire
