The display on my Citroen Berlingo Multispace showed how many miles I could drive until I needed fuel. This has disappeared and now shows mpg and other things. How do I get it back to showing the mileage left until I need to refuel? Thanks.

I own a 2004 Citroen Berlingo Multispace, petrol. It has never missed a beat from new until 2 months ago. It broke down and the AA man said that the fuel pump had broken. It had a new one fitted and all was well until it did the same again. I spoke to a vehicle electrician who said that the fuse box next to the battery is prone to problems. Any ideas please? (petrol)

I have a Citroen Berlingo Multispace 1.4 petrol which seems to have some sort of electrical problem. Sometimes when I drive it and turn off the ignition it won`t start again and I have to leave it for an hour or two before it will start again. Sometimes the battery light stays on for approximately one minute, (the garage has replaced the old battery with a new one). Also it cut out in traffic and then started again a few minutes later. When I was stationary at traffic lights it started revving itself for a few minutes. I am tired of bringing it back to the garage when they cannot find out what is wrong. Any ideas? Thank you. (1.4 petrol.)

Wife was driving our Citroen Berlingo Multispace when all the red warning lights came on. The AA say it is a broken ancillary belt. The garage fitted a new belt but the engine is still making a noise so the garage have told the wife that the broken ancillary belt could have broken the camshaft timing belt. If not, what problems could be causing the noisy engine? If it has broken the camshaft timing belt what problems could we be looking at? Hope somebody has an idea. Thanks, Bill.

Does the eco-stop start on Berlingo Multispace only work when the battery is fully charged after a long journey as the Berlingo I have has stopped working on the Stop Start Eco system because, I was informed, the battery is only 66% charged and therefore wont work with the stop start eco. Is this true?

Hi, I am having a little bit of bother with the speedometer on the missus’s car. I have replaced the speedo sensor close to the right hand drive and swapped the workings in the dash (rev counter for speedo). The rev counter still works but still no speedometer. I am a novice and have just serviced my one car. I changed the dash in this a few years back. Does it need resetting at a dealers? Any tips would be appreciated?

Hi. I have a knocking from my front offside suspension on my Citroen Berlingo Multispace. I have been to garage several times under warranty but it is not cured. I am arguing with Citroen HQ now but they keep stalling over the issue. I know many other Multispace drivers with same problem. Anyone / any dealer found a solution to this?
Answers
I would suspect the topmount is to blame. I had the same issue with my Berlingo van, it’s quite a difficult fault to pin down, and it was only through experience with another vehicle and eliminating every other possible cause I came to the conclusion. I had the same problem with the dealer getting mine sorted though. Now it’s been changed, its knocking has gone - Chris Putt from Yorkshire
Hi it will be either a drop link or top strut mount. Just had my strut mounts replaced but then needed a n/s drop link fitted (drop links are cheap strut mount means both parts of the front suspension have to be dropped to replace the bearing/bush) - Lee Weston from England

Hi. Can anyone tell me how many rear fog lights the Citroen Berlingo Multispace should have? I have a near side one complete with bulb and wire but it does not work. There is an offside one that does. Have tested the near side unit and bulb and they are fine. The Haynes manual shows wiring for offside lamp only and I am confused. I don’t want to waste time fault finding if it’s only meant to have one. Don’t want to put it in for MOT if its meant to have two :-(

Hi, I have had a 1.6-litre petrol Citroen Berlingo Multispace for six months now and have been very pleased with it except for the funny whirring noise when you press the brake. It only happens when you are driving, not when stationary, so I am assuming it is something to do with the brake servo? Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thanks.

A momentary "clatter" sounded from the front nearside, followed by a continual quiet "whistle" when running. The 2-litre HDi Citroen Berlingo Multispace drives OK and nothing obvious is to be seen under the bonnet. I noticed a smell like burning Bakelite outside the car after parking for a brief while. Brake pads look OK. Would suspect clutch but pressing pedal makes no difference and she’s only done 25k, albeit around town driving. Any ideas anyone?

There seems to be a very slight oil leak at the head gasket. My garage suggested I get a new gasket but they quoted me 400 euros and, as I may trade in soon, I am wondering... Should I be concerned as the oil level never goes down dramatically, and a friend in the garage business says there is no need to panic as most diesels are always slightly oil stained at head gasket.
Answers
There is nothing wrong with your car if the car is a 2000 to 2008. There was no gasket mate, for it all you need to do is take off the rocker cover. And get some gasket heat sealant from your auto supplier and clean the rocker cover and put sealant round the rim of the cover and refit the cover - job done. Should cost you about £40, it’s not a hard job at all - A Francis from Cornwall

How do you change the headlamp bulb on the passenger side because it is very tight up to the fuse box?
Answers
Hi Phillip, I changed a passenger side headlamp recently on an 08 (old shape) van. I found it easier to remove the front grill (4 torx screws and a clip) then loosen the headlamp unit (torx bolts). This let me pull the head lamp unit forwards a little giving extra room from the fuse box. This made it possible to unscrew and remove the round plastic cap at the back of the unit, then to unclip and swap out the bulb. Took about 10-15 mins in total. Hope this helps - Jon from Hampshire
