I have just reconnected the battery on my BMW 1-Series after approximately 2 hours disconnection. The electrics seem all to work and the engine turns over but doesn’t start. Anyone know the cause or an easy fix before I head to the dealer? (118D)

I am unable to open my glove compartment on my BMW 116i. As my owner’s manual is inside, I am unable to check if there is any possibility that it may actually be locked. It may have something lodged behind but I’ve been unable to dislodge anything. Is there an option to lock the compartment by using the remote?

When do I need to change the cam belt on my BMW 116i SE (current mileage: 32,500)?
Answers
You don’t need to change your cambelt cos your car doesn’t have one. BMW don’t use cambelts, they use cam chains which are far more durable. The chain should last the life of the engine - Alan Johnstone from England

I ordered the BMW 1 series hatchback but guess what - with 18inch wheels - a very nice look. Has anyone else tried the 18 inch wheels on the car and have you had any problems?
