Sometimes my boot on my Citroen Xsara Picasso won`t open. It used to have like a 10 second delay in opening, but now at times it won`t open at all and you have to access through the back seats. Other times a good hard bang on the back will open it. Can anyone tell me if the wiring is faulty or something is going wrong? I know my central locking is dodgy at times and will only lock from the passenger door, could that be the cause? Thanks.
There is a very cheap, simple switch that is activated by the tailgate. This can get very dirty and stop the switch from operating. You can test this very quickly by removing the plastic cover giving access to the boot switch, in the boot. Remove the wiring connector from the boot switch and use a paper clip to connect the two pins on the connector. This should operate the solenoid and allow the boot to open. If this works the its a problem on your switch. You will need to remove the interior panel from the bo from England.
